Primero de todo, el P55 ofrece la mejora visual que necesitaban los portátiles Gigabyte. En términos de rendimiento, el nuevo núcleo Broadwell también rinde muy bien comparado con las CPUs i7-4710HQ y i7-4700HQ que fueron populares en los portátiles de juego del 2014. Tanto el Turbo Boost como el GPU Boost pueden mantener sus máximos respectivos durante el juego, si bien a unas elevadas temperaturas del núcleo de más de 80 C.

Quizá el aspecto más distinguido del portátil sea su excelente teclado. El desplazamiento extralargo lo hace mucho más cómodo de usar comparado con otros teclados Chiclet de portátiles de juego de la competencia.

Además de estos positivos importantes, todo lo demás del P55 es estándar para un portátil de juego de gama alta. Atributos comunes como un display IPS de gran calidad, elevadas temperaturas superficiales y fuerte ruido de ventilador siguen presentes. El portátil es más grueso y pesado que el del P35X de 15.6". La GPU y la CPU están soldadas, por lo que no esperes la mejorabilidad ofrecida por MSI GT72 o Eurocom P5 Pro. Los usuarios también deberían tener en cuenta que a pesar de los geniales controles de ventilador, hace falta ponerlo al máximo para evitar que se ralenticen CPU o GPU. Por ello, los jugones hardcore seguramente querrán mantener el ventilador a su máxima potencia.

Primero de todo, el P55 ofrece la mejora visual que necesitaban los portátiles Gigabyte.

¿Queda algo que mejorar? Absolutamente, ya que esperamos ver más configuraciones con más opciones de GPU y displays 2K o 3K. Mirando más allá, al chasis le vendría bien una mayor rigidez, un subwoofer para más calidad de sonido, teclas Macro dedicadas para un juego eficiente, RAID, y DisplayPort en vez de VGA. También tenemos ganas de ver qué tan bien puede vérselas un único ventilador grande con una potencial GTX 980M. En comparación, más portátiles de juego están moviéndose hacia los ventiladores dobles para una ventilación mejorada.

El P55 es uno de los portátiles de mejor aspecto de Gigabyte y nos encantaría ver que su diseño y teclado se expanden a otros tamaños antes de que cierre el inevitable ciclo de renovación. Este es ciertamente uno de nuestros favoritos de este fabricante hasta la fecha.
