En realidad se trata de un portátil de prestaciones modestas con una relación peso/tamaño de pantalla que lo coloca algo por debajo de las prestaciones de la media de sus contrincantes. Pero eso si no contamos con que es un convertible, y además especialmente eficaz en lo que respecta a su pantalla tanto multitáctil como en modo Tablet. Si estamos buscando un ordenador con pantalla multitáctil con buenas prestaciones, lo cierto es que por este precio no hay prácticamente otra elección posible. Si consideramos que encima se trata de un ordenador convertible con pantalla pivotante, poco podemos añadir. Con una pequeña cura de adelgazamiento, mayor autonomía y algunos detalles en el diseño, la puntuación hubiese sido mucho más alta.

After everything is said and done it's tough to be overwhelmingly positive or negative about the HP TouchSmart tx2. On one hand, HP succeeded in bringing us an affordable multi-touch notebook loaded with cool entertainment features and a slick interface to keep consumers happy. On the other hand, the new multi-touch interface doesn't always respond exactly as it should and you may end up touching the screen multiple times before the screen finally does what it should have done the first time you touched it.

Anybody in the market for a ultra mobile laptop could do a lot worse than the Touchsmart TX2. It’s a comfortable and stylish machine, and it’s crammed with features. We’re not so sure it’s successful as a Tablet PC, however, where it’s slightly too bulky for comfortable one-handed use, and the screen that responds to finger inputs in addition to a stylus proved too quick to register movements for our liking.

Stylish, comfortable and well-equipped, but not the fastest machine. Where most Tablet PCs are primarily aimed at corporate and field workers, HP's TouchSmart tx2-1020ea is a touchscreen laptop that targets the regular consumer. The 12.1-inch screen swivels and folds flat for tablet use. There's a stylus tucked into the corner of the chassis, so you'll be able to control the cursor and enter text directly on to the display itself, and the panel also responds to finger inputs. Comfortable, well-equipped and offering good build quality, the tx2 is an impressive laptop. We're not certain it makes a great Tablet PC, however, proving too unwieldy for comfortable one-handed use.

Microsoft might have put a lot of money behind the concept over the years, but tablet PCs have always struggled to capture the imagination of the public. There's plenty to like about the TouchSmart tx2: it's attractive, well-designed, makes full use of Windows' built-in tablet features and is reasonably priced. However, if you've never been interested in tablet PCs, it's unlikely this one is going to give you a sudden enthusiasm for them, and we wish HP had made more of its multi-touch screen.

HP: Fundada en 1939, la empresa estadounidense es un importante fabricante de servidores e impresoras y una de las principales empresas de TI del mundo. Hasta 2015, la empresa se llamaba Hewlett-Packard Company. Tras una escisión, la división de informática pasó a llamarse HP Inc.

En 2023, HP tenía una cuota de mercado aproximada del 22% de las ventas mundiales de PC, lo que la situaba en el segundo puesto después de Lenovo.

Estos procesadores gráficos pueden mostrar únicamente juegos antiguos, fluidamente.  Juegos actuales pueden ser presentados con detalles sustancialmente reducidos.

ATI Radeon HD 3200: Chip de gráficos (en el chipset RS780M) integrado (Memoria compartida) basado en el núcleo de gráficos HD 2400. También presenta el motor de video UVD para decodificar videos HD. Además, soporta Hybrid CrossfireX (para aceleración) y PowerXpress(para ahorrar energía) con un adaptador de video dedicado (de la línea HD 3000).

AMD Turion X2 Ultra:

ZM-86: Mezcla de dos núcleos basados en K8 y uncores K10 (como controlador de memoria). Ofrece funciones mejoradas de ahorro de energía comparado con CPUs Turion más antiguos, pero aún no es tan bueno y veloz como un Core 2 Duo. El ZM-86 es el CPU más veloz de la serie ZM y un CPU de clase media en 2008.

ZM-84: Mezcla de dos núcleos basados en K8 y uncores K10 (como controlador de memoria). Ofrece funciones mejoradas de ahorro de energía comparado con CPUs Turion más antiguos, pero aún no es tan bueno y veloz como un Core 2 Duo. El ZM-84 es similar al ZM-85, pero presenta un vínculo HT de menor frecuencia.

AMD Turion X2:

RM-74: Procesador dual core de nivel básico basado en Griffin. Los núcleos aún se basan en la antigua arquitectura K8 (el controlador de memoria es más reciente).
