Intel N450

El Intel Atom N450 es un CPU de nivel básico pequeño y económico para Netbooks y pequeños portátiles. En el paquete es um controlador integrado de memoria para memoria principal DDR2 y la tarjeta de video GMA 3150.

El rendimiento de todo el sistema (Atom N450 y GMA 3150 integrado) sólo es suficiente para tareas básicas como navegar por la web, o trabajos con Office. Los videos HD, edición de video, edición avanzada de fotografías, múltiples tareas y por supuesto, los juegos, pueden sobrecargar el GPU y CPU. Comparado con la antigua generación Atom, el aumento del rendimiento sólo está marginalmente arriba de un Atom N280 / GMA 950 con frecuencia similar. Para decodificar videos HD en 1080p o N450 / GMA3150 necesita de la ayuda de un chip adicional como el ION2 o decodificador de video Broadcom.

Una ventaja de la interacción, es el consumo de energía general reducido del CPU, GPU y controlador de memoria (TDP de apenas 5,5 Watt). Intel indica 20% de reducción de energía y 60% de reducción de paquete. Por lo tanto, el chip es idealmente usado en pequeños Netbooks, MIDs, y portátiles delgados. Comparado con la serie Z500 combinado con el chip set US15W (2,4+2,3 W), el consumo de energía es similar.
