El Aorus 17 XE4 es un portátil de altas prestaciones que combina a la perfección el procesador Intel Core i7-12700H (6 núcleos P + 8 núcleos E y 20 hilos) con los gráficos Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti de 130W. Es cierto que no da el salto a las memorias DDR5, pero, como hemos podido comprobar, no es que le haga ninguna falta. Su rendimiento es realmente bueno y permite sacar gran partido a su pantalla FHD de 360 Hz, aunque alcanzar dicha tasa de FPS sea algo complicado en la mayoría de títulos. Por su parte, el sistema de refrigeración WindForce Infinity cumple con su cometido manteniendo las temperaturas a raya y con una sonoridad que, si bien puede ser un poco molesta en silencio, no lo es demasiado y es inferior a la de otros portátiles. No debemos dejar tampoco de destacar su excelente conectividad de redes con Wi-Fi 6E y 2.5 GbE, así como su USB 3.2, el Thunderbolt 4 y la salida de video HDMI 2.1. Además, cuenta con un potente SSD PCIe Gen4 de 1 TB de altas prestaciones y la posibilidad de añadir un segundo.

Gigabyte ha conseguido equilibrar la balanza en la gama gaming con este portátil AORUS 17. Si el precio está en el entorno de lo que costaban equipos similares de la 11th Gen, tenemos una propuesta óptima en cuanto a relación calidad / rendimiento / precio. No estamos ante un portátil para quienes buscan exprimir al máximo las posibilidades de Alder Lake o la RTX 3070 Ti, pero sí para quienes se encuentran cómodos dentro de los márgenes de rendimiento dispuestos por Gigabyte dentro de Control Center. La memoria es DDR4-3200, pero no es un factor relevante si nos ceñimos a los escenarios de uso gaming, ocio y productividad dentro de lo que podríamos llamar “funcionamiento normal”. Si buscas algún tipo de overclocking, mejor busca otro portátil. Con todo, el rendimiento que obtenemos de este AORUS 17 es óptimo para un uso todo terreno con un precio sensato y un diseño y construcción muy logrados, aunque sin llegar a los extremos de equipos más refinados.

The Gigabyte Aorus 17 (2022) is a fantastic gaming laptop that can handle nearly anything you throw at it at 1080p – whether that's gaming or creative workloads. Just don't expect to carry it around without some effort. On the positive side of the ledger, the Auros 17 packs powerful specs, including a new Alder Lake chip and RTX mobile GPUs along with fast memory, lots of storage, and the largest battery legally allowed in the United States. This means it gets some impressive battery life as far as an Intel Alder Lake gaming laptop with these specs is concerned. There are more powerful pieces of kit out there, but the Aorus 17 is definitely one of the best gaming laptops for the price and easily makes our list of best 17-inch laptops on the market.

Regardless, content creators and designers will certainly still appreciate the features on the AERO 5 XE4, which are fundamental to their work. This largely revolved around the notebook’s display, which is colour calibrated and validated, high resolution (4K) and with great AMOLED colour representation. Now that the AERO 5 XE4 has improved its performance with the latest CPU and GPU, the professionals can also appreciate the improved productivity from the notebook. Since there are a limited number of products in the market that is catered specifically for designers and content creators, the AERO 5 XE4 is certainly still a notebook to consider.

The Aorus 17 is an interesting laptop, built thin and light, but with a full list of specifications that are truly top-level. There are several available configurations on the way, including one with an i9-12900HK and 3080 Ti for the US market. Pricing is unknown as of yet. That lack of information poses a problem when it comes time to evaluate this product. That's not that high of a frequency, but the performance is more than adequate in games for sure. The raw compute power of these cores at low speed shouldn't be overlooked. Of note is also that the 45 W limitation means those cores are running cool at full CPU load, which has the laptop itself run quiet; perfect for getting some rendering or photo editing done without it being distracting. I have to take a moment to talk about the Microsoft Azure AI functionality, or lack thereof. Theoretically, we should see performance boosts in the right ways for different applications, as the system should be intelligent enough to adjust things like power limits or processor speed to match the demands of the task at hand.

The Aorus 17 XE is a straightforward offering in just about every facet—what you see is what you get. The build is big and simple, but it's visually sleek and not excessively heavy. The performance is great, as you'd expect from the component array; there are no real surprises or overachieving moments, though the 12th Gen processor is given room to fly with the fans at full speed. It's hardly the flashiest way to spend over $2,000 on a laptop, nor is it travel-friendly, but the Aorus largely delivers on its promises. The Lenovo Legion 7 and Alienware x17 just edge past it on the basis of performance and design in this competitive field.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU:

Tarjeta gráfica para portátiles de gama alta basada en el chip Ampere GA104. Disponible en diferentes versiones con un TDP de 80 a 125 vatios y diferentes velocidades de reloj Boost máximas de 1035 - 1485 MHz.

Estas tarjetas de video deben ser capaces de aguantar juegos modernos (con algunas excepciones) con altas resoluciones y altos detalles.

Un procesador móvil basado en Alder-Lake con 6 núcleos de rendimiento y 8 núcleos eficientes. Los núcleos de rendimiento ofrecen hyper-threading, lo que permite procesar 20 hilos. El procesador funciona a frecuencias de 1,7 a 4,7 GHz y es compatible con vPro.
