Asus ha presentado uno de los portátiles con diseño más rompedor del mercado, sin duda lo más extraño que hemos visto en mucho tiempo, casi una pieza de colección. Es precisamente la característica más llamativa de la versión firmada por ACRONYM, pero al mismo tiempo lo hace un producto de nicho, porque seamos realistas, su panel de aluminio resta versatilidad y el estilo llamativo puede ser reclamo para ladrones. Más allá de su estilo se trata del convertible tipo tablet más potente del mercado, porque en solo 15 mm de grosor se han instalado un 13900H de 14 núcleos y una gráfica RTX 4070 capaz de darnos más de 100 FPS en resolución QHD. Junto a su pantalla de 165 Hz de gran calidad y calibrada, tenemos la herramienta perfecta para el mundo de la creatividad. De hecho se ha incluido stylus y una original cinta para colgárnosla en el cuerpo y usarlo.

La primera ASUS ROG Flow Z13 vino a ampliar a la familia de dispositivos convertibles con GPUs externas ROG FLow con un tablet dotado de un hardware propio de portátil. Ahora, esta ASUS ROG Flow Z13 ACRNM va un paso más allá ofreciendo mucha más potencia gráfica y un diseño personalizado por ACRONYM que sigue las líneas de sus gamas de ropa y accesorios urbanos. Tenemos sentimientos encontrados en cuanto al formato y al hardware. la ROG Flow Z13 anterior tenía una GPU dedicada RTX 3050 Ti muy básica de la que posiblemente era mejor prescindir para tener un dispositivo más fino y portable, y utilizar la GPU Externa cuando quisiéramos potencia. En este caso, esta nueva generación da el salto a una RTX 4070 muchísimo más potente (aun con la limitación de 65W), por lo que la GPU interna tiene más sentido. No obstante, su peso y dimensiones son sensiblemente mayores, y lastran el uso de la ASUS ROG Flow Z13 ACRNM en modo tablet. Tampoco ayuda ese diseño tan robusto e "industrial" a poder usarlo como un tablet ligero y portable. Por eso, quizás sería más útil prescindir de la GPU dedicada y conseguir un diseño mucho más fino y ligero, y apoyarse en la gráfica externa para dotarlo de potencia "Gaming". En cualquier caso, de lo que no hay duda es que la ASUS ROG Flow Z13 ACRNM es un dispositivo único en su clase y la tablet más potente que podemos encontrar en el mercado, y eso sin tener en cuenta que podemos añadirle hasta una RTX 4090 a modo de GPU externa.

Gaming is a delight on the laptop even though some might find the screen size to be a bit small. The funk and quirk might be a bit too much for many. Especially when you consider the price. The Asus ROG Flow Z13 ACRNM special edition costs Rs 2,84,900 and that is a lot. Even for a gaming laptop. All things considered, it is going to be a hard sell for Asus.

Its extravagance is matched by fantastic handling of the power, balancing between performance and efficiency to give you a product that will never disappoint. You have to keep one thing in mind with this machine – its 65W RTX 4070 won’t be on par with more powerful iterations of the same GPU. We are talking about a difference of between 10 and 30% when compared to the 105W RTX 4070 inside the MSI Stealth 16 Studio (A13V).

80% Y’all, this laptop is too much

I’ve been an open-minded non-curmudgeon the whole way through this review, so I hope you’ll allow me to grump about one thing. I just can’t with the keyboard. It’s too much. The keys contain what Asus refers to as “Acronym’s own custom alphabet”. I’m happy to learn that Acronym has an alphabet of its own. Unfortunately, it’s not the alphabet I need to type with for work. I’m a very competent touch typist when it comes to words. But when I need to, for example, type a number on the Z13, it becomes a scavenger hunt. It’s not that the real numbers aren’t on the Z13’s keys, but they are buried in a dump of so many other symbols and colors and zany doodads that my eyes couldn’t find them instinctively. Other things just aren’t delineated. For example, the key that lowers the brightness is labeled “DARK” and has a little faint grid on it. I understand what you’re going for, Acronym, but I just want the regular brightness icon. You can jazz up the brightness icon. Just give me the brightness icon. Wacky designs are a wonderful thing until they begin to encroach on the everyday function of a device. Kooky laptops are laptops first. The Zephyrus G14 Acronym (which I raved about upon its release) labeled its keyboard keys in a storybook-esque font that made them easier, not harder, to read. It sprinkled other decorations around the keycaps, but they were clearly and obviously delineated from the keys’ real actual labels. Eye-popping designs are great, and this device is a unique offering you won’t find anywhere else on the market. I admire products that are unapologetically themselves, whether movies or clothing or consumer technology. But the fundamentals cannot fall by the wayside. And I hope companies, as they continue to innovate, remember that.

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 ACRNM edition is kind of a mixed bag for me. It's a unique design and perhaps appealing to some of you, but the extra bulk and weight and the funky keyboard are not quite my thing, as I much prefer the cleaner design of the standard Z13 variants. At the same time, this Z13 ACRNM offers specs that are not available with the regular Z13s, such as 32 GB of RAM and a 4070 dGPU, and also runs quieter and cooler than the standard models, thanks to that slab of metal on the back of the chassis. But are these enough to justify the price premium?

i9-13900H: CPU móvil basada en Alder Lake con 6 núcleos de rendimiento y 8 núcleos eficientes. Los núcleos de rendimiento ofrecen hyper threading, lo que permite procesar 20 hilos. La CPU alcanza una frecuencia de reloj de hasta 5,4 GHz. En comparación con el i9-13900HK no admite overclocking sencillo, pero en su lugar dispone de un conjunto completo de funciones de gestión vPro.
