Moto G5 Plus Review
Origen: Androidbeat Inglés EN→ES
The Moto G5 Plus is not without its flaws. It is clearly inferior to its competition in some aspects, with the dull display and design particularly being a disappointment. Despite its flaws though, it is an excellent mid-range handset. The excellent combination of hardware, software, and camera setup ensures that the G5 Plus will age well unlike many other devices out there. As for its camera performance, while it is impressive, there is still room for improvement here.

82% Moto G5 and G5 Plus review: Still the best budget phones
Origen: Engadget Inglés EN→ES
Another year, another pair of great affordable handsets from Motorola. The smaller, 5-inch Moto G5 offers reliable performance thanks to Android 7.0 Nougat, and a surprisingly good 13-megapixel camera. The design is a little uninspiring and the display is hard to read in direct sunlight, but this little smartphone does everything you need it to for a bargain price.

The Moto G5 Plus is an impressive phone for under £250. It's barely any bigger than the normal model which is odd but it might well be worth spending the extra to get more storage, a better processor and a significantly better camera.

At £170, the Moto G5 is still a true budget king. The Plus was always going to have to work hard to justify an £80 premium, and the scant few extra features it delivers don’t really do enough.

It's easy to pick up the very wrong impression that there's not much to look forward to in the mid-range smartphone space, like it's some dumping ground for leftover components, offers uninspired hardware design at best, and aims little higher than giving shoppers phone choices that are “good enough” without going much further.

Try as I might to reconcile the $229 price tag for the G5 Plus, I can’t. Indeed, I have been testing the $299 model with double the RAM and storage, but the point stands: The G5 Plus is priced way below its value. From the metal housing and fast camera to battery life that’s enough to get through even the heaviest of work days, there’s a lot for Motorola to be proud of here.

70% Moto G5 Plus review: The budget maker grows up, offers a balance of design and performance
Origen: Tech2.in.com Inglés EN→ES
This is not only the best Moto G, but also the most expensive one. The 3GB RAM variant with 16GB storage is priced at Rs 14,999 and the 4GB RAM version with 32GB storage at Rs 16,999. Comparing the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage is at Rs 12,999. Moto is not offering a 64GB variant. Of course Moto capitalises on the fact that it is offering the handset without any flash sales, whereas getting a Redmi Note 4 is a tough cookie.

The Moto G5 Plus has had an unassuming release. You probably haven’t seen much advertising outside maybe an Amazon ad or two. There hasn’t been a ton of buzz about the phone due to it being released between the LG G6 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 along with its budget price tag. But, that should change.

Origen: New Atlas Inglés EN→ES
If saving cash is your priority and you want to keep your smartphone purchase down to $300 or less – with no installment payments or carrier strings attached – you can't beat the Moto G5 Plus. It's one of the most consumer-friendly smartphones, prioritizing value above all else. Perhaps most importantly, it's also a pleasure to use – delivering the basics with a no-frills, workmanlike efficiency.

Moto G5 Plus hands-on review
Origen: PC Advisor Inglés EN→ES
Overall we're really impressed by the design of the Moto G5 Plus and the specs are good considering the price tag, but we'd still consider opting for the G5 instead. It's a whole £80 cheaper and we’re not sure the extra power and improved camera are worth that extra cash. The 0.2in difference in screen size is hardly noticeable, either. That's not to say this isn't a good mid-range phone, though. It can certainly compete with the Galaxy A3 and the Nokia 6, but so can the Moto G5 with that lower price. It's a tricky one to recommend when its smaller and cheaper sibling is so great!

If you're looking for a great phone that won't break the bank, the Motorola Moto G5 Plus checks all the boxes. It has a premium metal build, a sharp display, long battery life, a solid good camera, up-to-date software, and some pretty cool unique features. Whether you pay $185 for the Amazon Prime version, or $300 for the fully loaded model reviewed here, you get more bang for your buck than the $250 Honor 6X. Yes, the Axon 7 has a faster processor and a higher-resolution display, but it also costs more and you can't use it on Sprint or Verizon. So if you're shopping for a new phone and $300 (or even $200) is the top of your budget, you can't beat the Moto G5 Plus. That makes it an Editors' Choice.

OK, while none of these are a deal breaker for me, there are some things I find annoying. The G5 Plus has NFC and that means you can use Android Pay -- unless you live in the US. Why doesn't the US get NFC? I don't know. A spokesperson for Motorola said that "in the US, NFC capabilities are in less demand within the value tier." Still, it's a bit of a bummer.

The Moto G5 Plus is simply an outstanding phone for the money. It’s cheap, comes without monthly installments or commitments, and you can take it anywhere. Sure, spending $100 or $200 more will get you a better overall package in the OnePlus 3T, or the hard-to-believe battery longevity of the Moto Z Play. But not everyone can do that. And though the Moto G5 Plus is by no means the best smartphone available today, it’s hard to find a better one at this price — especially if you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber.

Origen: India Today Inglés EN→ES
Absolutely. But buy it for the overall experience, and especially for that clean Android Nougat. Although the Moto G5 Plus performs well in all areas and has a nice enough design, its biggest strength remains its overall experience. Once again it is a Moto G, which is bigger than any one single part. Its camera is one of the best we have seen in this price bracket and its performance is fantastic, complete with the clean Android. Its design is attractive, although a curved glass on the screen, could have been the cherry on the cake.

Motorola continues to offer stock Android features even after Lenovo acquired it. It offers Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box while others are still playing around with the Marshmallow version of Android. On top of that, Motorola offers gesture-based controls like Chop Twice for Flashlight, Twist To Open Camera, Swipe to shrink screen and a few more. With Moto Display, you can see your notifications at a glance on the display without waking up the phone.

Moto G5 Plus Review: Decent Phone, Decent Price… Smells like Moto G Spirit!
Origen: Tech PP Inglés EN→ES
Priced at Rs 14,999/Rs 16,999, the Moto G5 Plus is a great device in the budget phone segment but faces a lot of competition from the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Honor 6X, and the Nubia N1, all priced considerably lower. Interestingly, each of those has an ace up its sleeves (the Note 4 and N1 have huge batteries, the 6X dual cameras and so on), and this is where the Moto G5 Plus lags – it does a lot of things very well but nothing really jumps out at you as being, well, specially special. The phone also faces stiff competition from the smartphone from its sister brand, the Lenovo Z2 Plus which comes with a hell of a spec sheet in the same price point. But then, just go back to what we said at the beginning:

Moto G5 Plus Camera Review: Say Cheese to Simple and Steady!
Origen: Tech PP Inglés EN→ES
Yes, we do think this is the best camera we have seen so far on any Moto G phone. And it is good enough to be one of the strong points of the phone, especially among those who do not like crowded interfaces and believe in hardcore point and shooting. That said, we think that those who were expecting picture quality that would be close to that of the Galaxy S7, the Pixel and OnePlus 3T, will be disappointed. The Moto G5 Plus is a steady, simple point and shooter, and takes its place alongside the likes of the dual camera Honor 6X in being the benchmark for photographic quality in the sub-Rs 20,000 (and in the case of its lower priced edition, sub-Rs.15,000) price range. If your needs are as simple as pointing, saying cheese and shooting, this is one of the better cameras at its price point!

Overall, the Moto G5 Plus gives a mix impressions. On one hand, it does gives a premium look, but on the other, the design looks a tad similar to Honor 5C. The device has a compact form factor, a clean user interface which is a welcome move, but still faces a stiff competition from the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Honor 6X that deliver good performance in almost all the departments and are priced less than G5 Plus.

The Moto G5 Plus is a really interesting prospect. When once the mid-range market was awash with so-so phones, this near-£250 device sets out a strong stall of specs and style, in a category where many of the previous front runners are now up and away at the £400 price point. It clears the decks somewhat, leaving Motorola to take advantage.

Moto G5 and G5 Plus hands on: bringing premium looks to the mid-range
Origen: Android Authority Inglés EN→ES
There’s no pretending these phones are anything even close to flagships in specs, but they certainly look the part. Samsung has successfully delivered its premium design to the Galaxy A series and the same approach will likely work wonders for Lenovo too. They deliver the same tried-and-true recipe the Moto G series has become famous for, but they do it in a style typically reserved for flagship phones. And that sounds like a recipe worth repeating.
