Apple's MacBook Air 13-inch model may be slightly larger but for the extra money over the 11-inch model, it is the better choice. The system is still extremely portable but doesn't sacrifice as much performance, battery life or storage space. It still has its downsides such as not being upgradeable after purchase but it is so hard to really fault Apple on these when there is no other ultrathin laptop to compare with it.

It’s probably no surprise to learn we’re smitten by this MacBook Air. For those who crave the sensibly-sized screen and proper keyboard of a full-sized laptop, but wish it could weigh next to nothing, perform well and last a full day, there’s nothing quite like it. It doesn’t roar through tasks like the VAIO Z13, nor quite match its wonderful screen, but the MacBook Air comes across as reasonable value by comparison. Yes, it’s dear, but it really is an experience worth paying for.

The battery lasts long enough that I could work and enjoy some entertainment for many hours – about 4-5 depending on conditions. The screen is bright enough that even with sun shining through the window it was viewable despite being a glossy screen. The keyboard is comfortable enough to type even in a bumpy car. The size is perfect for pulling the computer out of the bag even in cramped spaces. The weight and thickness make carrying the MacBook Air in a bag, with every possible accessory I could possibly need, lighter than my previous monster of a laptop. It has enough power to charge an iPad and other accessories over USB overnight.

Do we wish Apple would've gone with a Core i3 CPU? Sure, but if you need even more power there's always the 13" MacBook Pro. The Air is remarkably responsive, and while it's not cut out for heavy A/V editing, there's more than enough here for the casual Photoshop user. If you're okay with the simple elegance that the new Macbook Air 13 is designed to deliver, with perhaps a few of the inherent limitations that come within its sleek packaging, you'll have a tough time finding a nicer 13-inch thin and light notebook.

Launched mid-September, the MC504 and MC505 are the latest MacBook Air laptops from Apple, featuring 13.3in and 11.6in screens respectively. Apple’s MC504 MacBook Air is a visual treat, but that means nothing if the system can’t deliver. I really like the form factor of the 11-inch MacBook Air. It's great to carry around. It's like an iPad for people who have to get real work done. I just wish it was faster. If Intel made a 32nm Core 2 Duo, clocked high enough the 11 would be perfect. I guess that’s what Atom is eventually supposed to be, but right now the performance is just too low. Intel appears to have been too conservative with Atom. Perhaps Bobcat and ARM’s Cortex A15 will light a fire under Intel's Atom team.

NVIDIA GeForce 320M: Tarjeta de video con chip set integrado basada en el núcleo GT216 (por ejemplo, GeForce GT 325M) pero sin memoria dedicada. Soporta procesadores Core 2 Duo.

Intel Core 2 Duo: Este es el sucesor Core Duo y el Core Solo con un pipeline más largo y con una velocidad entre 5-20% sin mayor consumo de energía. Adicional al diseño de Core Duo existe un cuarto decodificador, una unidad SSE ampliada y una unidad lógica aritmética (ALU) adicional.

Sus características son: 2 núcleos (cores), una amplificación de comando de 64-bit EM64T y 2 o 4 MB L2 Cache y  291 millones de transistores, que son acabados en 65nm. Mas allá de esto, todos los tipos soportan técnicas "Execute Disable Bit",  SSSE3 (SSE4), Enhanced Speedstep,  LaGrande y la mayoría de técnicas de virtualizacion (VT) Vanderpool.

El Core 2 Duo para laptops es idéntico a los procesadores Core 2 Duo para desktops, pero los procesadores para notebooks trabajan con tensiones más bajas (0.95 a 1188 Volt) y un Frontside bus clock (1066 contra 667 MHz). El rendimiento de laptops cuena con una frecuencia de 20-25% más baja que PCs Desktop debido a una frecuencia más baja de Frontside bus y los discos duros más lentos.

SL9400: CPU de bajo voltaje presentando una Cache de nivel 2 de 6 MB. Por tanto el rendimiento es mejor que en otros Core 2 Duo a 1.86 GHz (usualmente con 1-3 MB de cache de nivel 2).
