El Scar 18 es actualmente uno de los portátiles más potentes. El Core i9-14900HX y GeForce RTX 4090 permiten el juego 4K, el procesamiento de vídeo y el renderizado. La brillante y vibrante pantalla mini-LED (18 pulgadas, 2560x1600 píxeles) es un festín para los ojos.
El Scar 18 es actualmente uno de los portátiles más potentes. El Core i9-14900HX y GeForce RTX 4090 permiten el juego 4K, el procesamiento de vídeo y el renderizado. La brillante y vibrante pantalla mini-LED (18 pulgadas, 2560x1600 píxeles) es un festín para los ojos.

Las actualizaciones constantes y una mayor pantalla en este ROG Strix Scar 18 lo convierten en un portátil demasiado atractivo. La zona posterior por fin expulsa el aire sin afectar a la pantalla, siendo ahora su pantalla mini LED con bastantes mejoras en cuanto a su calidad. La CPU de Intel con un mayor IPC logra incrementar el rendimiento en resoluciones más bajas y liberar carga ya que dispone de un mayor número de núcleos. Las memorias DDR5 son otro aspecto mejorado, donde la frecuencia se ha visto incrementada hasta los 5600 Mhz con una menor latencia dandole esa agilidad que necesitaba este tipo de equipo. Pero además siempre podremos actualizar o ampliar este apartado o incluso las unidades SSD que vienen en formato RAID 0.

Lo que se queda en un punto por debajo del sobresaliente es el aspecto del TGP sostenido para CPU y GPU en escenarios de alto rendimiento. Los 240W máximos son precisamente eso, máximos. Se alcanzan puntualmente, pero es más fácil que nos quedemos en una ventana entre 210W y 230W. La gráfica se mantiene en los 175W de TGP máximo casi todo el rato, siendo la CPU la que se ve más perjudicada por este aspecto termodinámico. En una primera aproximación, podemos pensar que los megahercios extra que añade el Core i9-14900HX son los culpables de que haya un cierto grado de Throttling térmico. No es grave ni un drama, pero es un punto que hemos observado en las pruebas y como tal, hay que comentarlo. El equipo tiene argumentos de sobra como para merecer estar en una lista de la compra para cualquier entusiasta del gaming. Aunque la competencia con otros modelos será dura y hay que examinar cada detalle con lupa, especialmente teniendo en cuenta los precios en los que nos movemos.
