HP's Pavilion dv6-2190us is one of many new affordable higher performance laptops available with the new quad core Core i7 processor. Performance is very strong but the system does run hot and requires a very large power adapter to be carried around frequently due to its limited battery life. It would have been nice to see HP upgrade more aspects of the system from previous versions but it does offer a fair amount of functions for those not wanting to spend much more than $1000 on a laptop.

The DV6 is the most powerful laptop I have ever owned and used.
The laptop will definitely work well for the type of computer activities that I do:
buring DVD's, programming, video converison, picture editing, etc. I love the laptop. I new i was buying a desktop replacement with a lot of power but limited battery life.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M: La Nvidia GeForce GTS 230M es un adaptador gráfico DirectX 10.1 para portátiles basado en el núcleo GT216. Debido a los 48 núcleos shader, debería rendir apreciablemente mejor que la GT 130M y debido al proceso de producción de 40nm el consumo de corriente debería mantenerse igual.
El núcleo de la GT230M es llamado internamente GT216 y según Nvidia esta basado en la arquitectura de escritorio actual de gama alta (gama GTX 200). Además, Nvidia ha mejorado la micro arquitectura para mayor ahorro de energía e incrementos de rendimiento. Por tanto, el rendimiento por unidad shade debería ser ligeramente mejor que la generación anterior. 

Algunos juegos actuales no fastidiosos pueden ser jugados fluidamente con pequeños detalles.

720QM: El Core i7-720QM es el Core i7 Quad Core más lento en 2009 y tiene velocidades entre 1.6 y 2.8 GHz (debido al modo Turbo). Por tanto, combina las ventajas de una CPU de cuatro nucleos lenta con las de un solo nucleo. Comparada con las rápidas CPUs Core i7, el 720QM solo presenta 6MB de cache de nivel 3.
