Por todo lo anterior, el Honor 200 Pro me ha parecido una delicia de móvil que es verdad que no es barato, con sus 799 euros, pero que agradezco que haya llegado a España al fin porque le pone las cosas difíciles al resto de móviles de gama alta actuales por debajo de los 1.000 euros. Realmente no falla en prácticamente nada. Con un diseño que divide pero a la larga convence, quizá la pantalla curva pese a su buen calidad es el aspecto que más se le puede reprochar ya que es un elemento que está cayendo en desuso, pero si te sigue gustando, es una de las pocas opciones que te quedan. Pero sobre todo Honor 200 Pro es una delicia en cuanto a potencia, con un rendimiento muy rápido y fluido que se compara con móviles más caros y que deja atrás por mucho a sus predecesores de la serie numérica, así como en un modo retrato desarrollado junto a Harcourt que harán que tu carrete de Instagram se vuelva mucho más profesional con el mínimo esfuerzo.

El propósito del Honor 200 Pro es claro: es un teléfono que quiere ofrecer una cámara y rendimiento de gama alta a un precio algo más ajustado. En el primer aspecto, he de decir que estoy bastante contento. Al no ser un serie Magic esperaba una cámara más cercana a la gama media, pero no es así. Este teléfono tiene una cámara muy similar a la de su hermano mayor, el Honor Magic6 Pro, teléfono que cuesta actualmente 220 euros más que este. La pantalla es relativamente similar, tiene muy buena autonomía y carga rápida, el procesador es espectacular pese a no ser el más potente de Qualcomm y, en definitiva, el propósito se cumple. Este móvil es la clara prueba de que se puede tener un gama alta (bastante) por debajo de los 1.000 euros.

El Honor 200 Pro, reiteramos, sale a la venta por 799 euros. Y lo cierto es que, en líneas generales, es un muy buen dispositivo. Su apartado fotográfico es muy bueno, al igual que su pantalla. Todo ello, además, se combina con un rendimiento más que decente y con una autonomía más que suficiente, incluso para un uso intensivo. El diseño, si bien es un tanto diferente al resto de móviles —y para mi gusto un tanto ostentoso dependiendo del acabado—, destaca por la calidad de sus materiales; con una construcción muy similar a la que vemos en smartphones de más de 1.000 euros. Ahora bien, el Honor 200 Pro tiene sus puntos negativos. La curvatura en la pantalla sigue estando ahí; pese a que otros fabricantes ya han optado por retirarla. Por este precio, además, hay smartphones que pueden ofrecer un mejor rendimiento.

The filters, in collaboration with Studio Harcourt, truly give users studio-like photographs. There are some good phones out there in both Rs 40,000 price range and Rs 60,000 price range. Yet, it is good to see that Honor is making a strong statement with the Honor 200 Pro and Honor 200. Both phones not only have top of the line - for their price - chipsets, they also have top class displays and an attractive design.

The Honor 200 Pro is a great device that has focused heavily on it’s camera skills, which is a good thing as it does work very well as. Camera particularly in close quarters. That being said it is by no means a one trick pony as it is a component phone for gaming and never let me down on the performance side of things. Whilst it is not quite flagship tier, it is so close that it is actually difficult to class it’s position in the brands lineup. I see it this way, if you want the top of the line flagship specs then you have the Honor Magic 6 Pro which is a great phone from the limited time I had with it. However if you don’t need the top of the line in terms of specs and want to focus on the camera and particularly portraits then the Honor 200 Pro is a solid buy.

Overall, the Honor 200 Pro is a great mid-range smartphone, and easily one of my favorites this 2024. Not only does it look good, it has the performance to match as well. It caters to users who want a phone with a very capable camera, but can also handle its games well. This then makes it great for content creators or those who want to try and dip into photography and videography. The only downside of the phone is the battery life. Despite having a larger 5200 mAh battery pack, it doesn’t last longer than other phones. In fact, it’s around the same or even uses more battery than its competitors. Speaking of competition, the Honor 200 Pro retails for PHP 29,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant.

The Honor 200 Pro is unique in many senses, but that is a positive feature maybe only when talking about the camera and its many creative modes on offer. Honor seems really proud of the design of the 200 Pro, but despite liking the build quality and materials on the review unit, the camera island has a divisive look that can look too retro. Besides that, the Honor 200 Pro offers a really competitive package in its screen and performance. The big display, curved edge aside, is perfect for media consumption, and even the stereo speakers sounded nice (but are side-firing, which affected the spatial immersion).

The Honor 200 Pro is a versatile and capable smartphone, with a triple-camera setup that brings with it many imaging options. Honor calls its 200 Pro’s main 50 MP camera with an f/1.9 aperture a “studio-level portrait camera.” Marketed as “the portrait master,” the device has the elements for providing good portraits, thanks to its reliable autofocus, accurate target exposure, and fairly wide dynamic range, even though some color instabilities were noted. For colors, some occasional casts and skin-tone inaccuracies were sometimes visible. Images also contained some chromatic noise, particularly in low-light conditions. Strong backlit conditions could also result in a low contrast in images. The Honor 200 Pro’s strong performances in autofocus, exposure, and well-controlled noise in video were offset by the inconsistencies in stabilization, which were apparent when shooting action videos when walking.

The majority of my issues with the Honor 200 Pro boil down to the fact that the software just isn’t as good as you can get elsewhere. In particular, the Google Pixel 8 offers a much more streamlined experience (not to mention several more years of support) for around the same price. That said, there’s so little to dislike here that a few software wobbles aren’t a dealbreaker. Performance is good and battery life is fantastic, the display is practically flawless and the cameras are diverse and effective, particularly when it comes to portraits. Will that be enough to unseat the Pixel 8? We have yet to see, but if I were Google, I’d be concerned.

It fills in the mainstream, upper-midrange gap in a way previous generations didn’t, with a top-end chipset, huge battery, and very capable cameras – even if the headline portrait feature will most likely be sparingly used. I think there’s definitely still room for improvement on the software front, and there seems to be far fewer fans of curved-edge screens than there used to be. Near-identical pricing to the Google Pixel 8 and Samsung Galaxy S24 feels bold, too for a brand which doesn’t have the same recognition as those other names. But there’s no denying it feels every bit as premium in the hand as those phones. So it’s a very tempting alternative that really holds its own among rivals.

The low contrast seems to be more of a problem when zooming in, as in the case of a short clip of the base of the Eiffel tower, where the Olympic rings could be seen. The shadows in the footage has been rendered more grey/brown than black. All in all, the Honor 200 Pro is a very exciting phone to use as it offers quite a lot for photographers for its price point (just under £700) – particularly as someone who takes a lot of portraits. Not only does it have a triple camera system on the back, it also has a telephoto camera and a high-resolution 50MP selfie camera on the front.

In the opening paragraph, I wrote about this phone being the first Portrait phone out there, but it's more than that. The Honor 200 Pro is an excellent upper midranger with snappy performance, stylish design, a great screen, and super-fast charging. I can see this phone giving some true flagships a run for their money, and the only thing that somewhat spoils this Parisian party is the price. At £699.99 (around $890), the Honor 200 Pro is more expensive than all your mainstream flagship phones, including the iPhone 15, Galaxy S24, and Pixel 8. Can this phone compete with those? It can, absolutely! But it would require a massive leap of faith for most people to reach and grab the Honor 200 Pro and skip the aforementioned "safe" choices. Which is a shame.

I’d imagine it’ll be cheaper than the Magic6 Pro, which is €1299. But how much cheaper is the question? Then there’s the HONOR 100 Pro that it is replacing, that was priced at €449 last year. Leaving the price out of it, this is a damn good phone. Especially if it comes in much cheaper than the Magic6 series. Typically, the number series are marketed as mid-range phones, but there’s nothing mid-range about this. A flagship processor, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, three incredible cameras on the back, and a big juicy battery to boot. There’s not a lot to dislike about the HONOR 200 Pro.

The Honor 200 Pro’s display showed a strong performance in our Display protocol, supported by achieving a top score in color and an excellent showing in touch. The Honor 200 Pro’s flicker-free screen provided a well-adapted brightness in low light and in indoor conditions. However, the display’s readability was heavily challenged in outdoor lighting, and the device couldn’t quite match the luminance and contrast levels of its competitors. Color performance was by far the display’s strongest aspect. The device’s colors, tested in the faithful mode were accurate throughout. This, along with color uniformity, earned the device the highest score in this attribute. Despite a slight green color shift when viewed from an angle, the screen managed to maintain its color accuracy. Touch performance was highlighted by a very fast and accurate average response time of 56 ms. In addition, the device showed no evidence of reacting to any unintended touches.
