Hay que reconocer a Huawei su trabajo para que cada día haya más apps en su tienda, pero sigue muy lejos de Apple y Google, lógicamente. Y lo peor es que tiene la competencia en un Honor 50 que es muy similar (con peor cámara principal, como veremos en el análisis de este fin de semana), pero con los GMS. Y eso es una baza importantísima. Si este Nova 9 tuviera ese soporte, estaríamos hablando de uno de los móviles más interesantes en su rango de precio, pero lo cierto es que la competencia es muy dura.

El Huawei Nova 9 es un terminal con un diseño muy atractivo, y materiales premium que sugieren un precio mucho más alto de el que marca su etiqueta, 499 euros. Ese dinero compra también un rendimiento excelente, una muy buena autonomía con espectacular carga ultrarrápida de 66w, así como una cámara cumplidora. Pero todo ello se ve ensombrecido con la enorme desventaja que supone no contar con los servicios de Google. Si consideras que esto último no supondrá un gran hándicap en tu experiencia de uso, el Nova 9 se presenta como una gran opción en la gama media.

Huawei ha lanzado al mercado dos teléfonos cuyas características y especificaciones tienen cuerpo como para plantar cara a otros competidores de la gama media actual. El precio de 449 euros en el caso del Nova 9 y de 349 euros en el caso del Nova 8i los convierten en terminales, sobre el papel, atractivos para todo aquel que no quiera desembolsar mucho dinero en un teléfono móvil. No obstante, el precio real a pagar en estos dos nuevos terminales es la ausencia de los servicios de Google. Tocará esperar para ver qué experiencia ofrecen en el día y a día y cómo ha conseguido Huawei solventar esta carencia.

I like the Huawei nova 9, if I consider it exclusively as a test device. Stylish, thin, light, quite powerful, with an excellent screen, a good camera and fast charging. Many of us have missed the quality of Huawei, and the nova 9 demonstrates that the company has not forgotten how to make these very smartphones – even in the most critical of conditions. But here we come back to one of the most important drawbacks – the lack of Google services negates all the advantages of the device and condemns it to oblivion. The maximum that Huawei nova 9 can count on is popularity in narrow circles of connoisseurs, experts and fans of the brand. There is no hope for mass sales. A pity. The smartphone really came out quite good. I would even like to give it some kind of editorial award, but what’s the point? It will be more of a consolation prize than a real recommendation to buy. Therefore, I will leave the final decision to the buyers. After all, someone will definitely buy this smartphone for reasons I can’t possibly fathom. But I won’t judge, because this is a quality device, no matter what.

We can't overlook the elephant in the room - the lack of Google Mobile Services on the nova 9 specs sheet. However, as our review progressed, we learned this is not its only shortcoming, far from it. The nova 9 has a sub-par camera performance; similarly priced rivals run considerably more powerful SoCs, all the while Huawei's contender fails to impress with battery endurance. Stereo speakers and ingress protection are also popular features in the price bracket that the nova 9 fails to deliver. The slick and lightweight design and good display won't be enough to attract enough buyers. If Huawei's handset was priced lower, it might have gotten our recommendation, but for now, your hard-earned money would be spent better elsewhere. Unless you are reading this review a couple of months after it's been published, in which case the nova 9 might be in a more advantageous position price-wise.

The Huawei nova 9 is an interesting device in more ways than one, made more interesting still with its arrival to European markets. Just to recap some of the oddities at play here - the nova 9 runs on a Snapdragon 778G chipset, limited to just 4G connectivity. It also boots EMUI 12, instead of HarmonyOS. And, as far as we can gather, it still has an Android core, though with no Google services or apps. Both of these points are just realities Huawei currently has to deal with, particularly if it wants to retain a presence in Europe. And if nothing else, this nova 9 launch appears to be a tentative indication of such intentions going forward. Pricing for the Huawei nova 9 is set at EUR 499 for an 8GB, plus 128GB model, with preorders starting today (October 21) and official sales later this month. There was no mention of a 256GB model at the presentation, but it could be added to listings later on. As far as hardware goes, the nova 9 is actually a pretty compelling and well-rounded offer.

Algunos juegos actuales no fastidiosos pueden ser jugados fluidamente con pequeños detalles.
