Cuesta trabajo evaluar la IdeaPad S10-3 de Lenovo. Es frustrante que una netbook se esfuerce mucho por incluir un teclado extraordinario, nada más para arruinar la experiencia del usuario con un touchpad fastidiosamente diminuto. Aunque se puede argumentar que la pobre cantidad de características y la duración media de la pila (sí, resulta difícil creer que ahora el promedio es de 7 h en el caso de las netbooks) se justifican gracias al precio relativamente asequible ($370 USD), mejor aconsejaría gastar $30 USD más y comprar la mini NB305-N410 de Toshiba ($400 USD) o la Mini 5102 ($400 USD) de HP.

There’s a lot to like about the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3. It’s attractive, small, and light. And it offers decent performance and battery life (while falling far short of the 10+ hours of run time offered by some of its competitors). But there’s one major problem with the S10-3, and that’s the awful touchpad. If you’re a USB mouse kind of person, or if you don’t have a problem with integrated mouse buttons, then the Lenovo ideaPad S10-3 is definitely worth checking out.

Its design and keyboard are much improved over the previous generation, the speakers are positively booming (for a netbook), and its instant-on environment is easily the most attractive among netbooks. So far, the only company that has gotten this right is Apple, although they have a lot more real estate to work with.

Comentario

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3150: Tarjeta gráfica integrada (memoria compartida) de las CPUs Intel Atom N4xx. Minimamente más rápida que una GMA 950 y por tanto no adecuada para juegos 3D o videos HD (solo tiene aceleración MPEG2)

Muchos juegos son difícilmente ejecutables con estos adaptadores gráficos o se ejecutan de manera muy lenta.

Intel Atom:

La gama Intel Atom es un microprocesador de 64 bits para portátiles, MID’s o UMPC’s baratos y pequeños. Lo especial de esta nueva arquitectura es la ejecución “in order” (en lugar de la usual y más rápida ejecución “out of order”). Por tanto, el número de transistores del Atom es mucho menor y por tanto más barato de producir.

N450: El CPU Intel Atom para Netbooks con controlador integrado de memoria y GPU GMA 3150. El rendimiento del sistema debe ser solamente mínimamente más veloz que la combinación anterior Atom N280 / GMA 950.

10.1": La portátil tiene un formato de pantalla muy pequeña y rara para sub-portátiles.
La ventaja es, que la sub-portátil puede tener dimensiones menores y puede ser cargada fácilmente.
