Este ROG Phone 5S se puede considerar una actualización menor del ROG Phone 5. Tenemos el mismo diseño y funciones, pero un procesador un poquito más potente, sobre todo en mono-hilo, que le permiten mantenerse en los primeros puestos de potencia de smartphones gaming. Más allá de la mejora que supone el Snapdragon 888+, se agradece el salto a los 512 GB para los usuarios que instalan juegos avanzados que requieren grandes capacidades de almacenamiento. Los 16 GB de RAM superan en cantidad a lo que ofrecen muchos ordenadores hoy en día y nos deja ver hacia donde se dirige el mercado de los smartphones orientados a juegos. The UI is highly customised and the look should appeal to gamers more than the average user. You do get a few apps such as Facebook, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and Netflix preinstalled, apart from the usual suite of Google apps. These can be uninstalled to free up some space. The Asus ROG Phone 5s has impressive hardware and is aimed squarely at gamers. There isn't any direct competition in the market for it, and Asus is simply building on its lead in this segment. With only small differences between the ROG Phone 5s and its predecessor, you'd be better off choosing the newer model, since prices are officially the same – unless you can find the ROG Phone 5 on sale while it's still in stock. Whether you get the ROG Phone 5 or the ROG Phone 5s Pro, you’re getting the best gaming phone ecosystem in the Android camp. Does Asus make the best gaming phone of them all? That’s debatable. Apple’s iPhones get iOS’s gaming catalogue, which is more polished than that of Android, and there are gazillions of iPhone gaming accessories. With Asus making quality gaming accessories for its phone – an excellent controller and a smart fan and kickstand, as well as loading the ROG Phone 5s Pro with nifty touch-sensitive buttons, it’s definitely the one for out and proud gaming nerds. Factor in the levelled-up RGB lighting, a plethora of ports and mighty audio options, and nothing comes close. Where the Asus ROG Phone 5s Pro drops the ball is its camera. Is it bad? Definitely not. Can you get more for less? Absolutely; not least of all in the Google Pixel camp. Qualcomm afirma que es un 35% más rápido que el Adreno 650 del Snapdragon 865 SoC y ofrece un 20% más de eficiencia energética. Para Android debería ser una de las tarjetas gráficas más rápidas en 2021.
Estas tarjetas también deben ser capaces de aguantar todos los juegos actuales, pero la mayoría de ellos en configuraciones de detalles medios y bajos y con bajas resoluciones. Juegos más antiguos, o menos exigentes todavía pueden ser jugados con buena calidad de gráficos.

SD 888+ 5G:
SoC de gama alta para smartphones presentado a mediados de 2021 y fabricado en 5 nm en Samsung. Integra un "Prime Core" basado en una arquitectura ARM Cortex-X1 que alcanza los 3 GHz.
