Tras varias semanas de prueba, he de decir que el Asus Zenbook 14 OLED es un portátil realmente resistente y que podrás llevar a cualquier lado sin apenas notarlo en la mochila. Si buscas un portátil que te aguante muchos años, este procesadores es de los nuevos de Intel, con lo que podría ser una buena opción, también gracias al uso más eficiente de la batería que hace de la batería. Ahora bien, tendrás que pensar muy bien esta inversión, ya que el Asus Zenbook 14 OLED (UX3405) tiene un precio de 1.440 euros. En mi opinión, creo que es una cifra a considerar si se tienen en cuenta otras ofertas de portátiles que existen en el mercado actual. Sea como sea, es un portátil que no te dejará tirado nunca. El Asus Zenbook 14 OLED trae como gran reclamo lo más reciente en procesadores de Intel y se posiciona como una buena opción si lo usas para trabajar o estudiar. Algunas de las funciones que Asus incorpora en software son la guinda del pastel.

De la tecnología del procesador hablaremos con más detalle en otros artículos técnicos. Aquí estamos evaluando un portátil entero como es el ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED. En este sentido, el procesador cumple bien con su cometido, para escenarios de uso todo terreno, con especial foco en la productividad y el ocio digital. Para gaming, las APUs de AMD, como la Ryzen Z1 Extreme, parece que siguen siendo mejores a falta de actualizaciones de controladores de última hora. El apartado de la autonomía precisa de más pruebas, especialmente la de PCMark 10. Por lo pronto, en escenarios de productividad ofimática parece que sí podemos hablar de un tiempo de uso prolongado cuando no estamos conectados a la red eléctrica. Como equipo, el ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED es un portátil delgado y ligero muy bien pensado y fabricado por ASUS. El procesador es perfectamente funcional, todo sea dicho.

Es ya turno de sacar conclusiones tras completar la review del ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED. En primer lugar debemos destacar que estamos ante lo que realmente es un ultra portátil o ultrabook, sin lugar a dudas. Su delgado chasis de 1,49 mm y un peso de 1,2 kg así lo confirman. Sin embargo, en tan digna portabilidad, nos encontramos con una excelente pantalla de 14 pulgadas OLED con gran calidad de imagen. Gracias a un panel con resolución 2,8K, un brillo de hasta 600 nits y unos grandes colores, esta obtiene el certificado VESA HDR True Black 600 que garantiza la reproducción de contenidos HDR con grandes prestaciones. Por otro lado, la actualización a los nuevos procesadores Intel Meteor Lake, concretamente al Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, permite un salto de potencia y eficiencia frente a generaciones previas. Cierto es que en lo relativo a potencia de cálculo no encontramos grandes mejoras, pero en cuanto a potencia gráfica si es bastante palpable.

La NPU es una adición interesante, pero aún hay que esperar para poder sacarle todo el provecho a nivel de software. El ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED saca provecho a este procesador y GPU integrada para conseguir un gran equilibrio entre prestaciones y precio, con una autonomía sobresaliente y un funcionamiento silencioso. Todo ello en un portátil muy fino, con un excelente panel OLED 3K y con 120 Hz. Con todo ello, su precio de 1.499 euros está bastante ajustado. La conectividad física aprovecha bien el espacio para añadir un USB-A y un HDMI a los dos USB-C con Thunderbolt 4.0, además, su teclado tiene un tacto y recorrido muy cómodos. Sin duda alguna, el ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED UX3405M es un ultrabook muy completo y, al menos de momento, uno de los que más potencia gráfica es capaz de ofrecer en un formato tan compacto.

I showed this laptop to a friend who uses a MacBook Pro, and he too gave it a serious thought. While Windows is a major factor when considering something other than a MacBook, it is time we admit that Windows machines are getting pretty good too. Sure, it is expensive but then all good things in one way or another are.

Most of my issues stemmed from my review unit being a pre-production model. Beyond that, the only real letdown came from Intel’s new chip. While it’s not bad, it didn’t quite meet the hype. At best, the Core Ultra felt a little better than previous-generation CPUs. Still, it didn’t hold back the Zenbook 14. The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED is available now in Canada through the Asus e-store or Best Buy. It’s worth noting that the Core Ultra 7 variant is exclusive to the latter.

Overall, the ZenBook 14 OLED is a cracking laptop, then. Performance is solid, battery life is good, it has a great screen and ergonomics and build quality is top notch. With prices starting at £1,099, it’s strong competition for the likes of the 13.6in and 15in MacBook Air. As a showcase for Intel’s latest CPU, however, I’d have to say the jury’s out right now. Battery life is good for a Windows machine in this class but it still lags behind the likes of Apple’s M3 MacBook Pro and there isn’t much, if any, of a performance bump over the previous generation of Intel processors.

With its thin and light design, the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED can’t quite show off the full potential of Intel’s new Core 7 Ultra CPU, but it makes a great demonstration of how the new architecture is enabling manufacturers to reach higher levels of performance from an ultraportable device. It comfortably tops similar devices from the previous generation, like the Dell XPS 13 Plus (2023), and even larger ones, like the Asus Zenbook 15 OLED and LG Gram SuperSlim. In fact, with its fantastic OLED screen and comfortable ergonomics, the Asus could work as a creator’s laptop or a business machine, or just about anything else bar a full-blooded gaming PC. Here the new Arc iGPU is a huge improvement on Intel’s earlier integrated graphics tech – and serious competition for AMD’s fastest APUs in the likes of the Acer Swift Edge 16 – but still not in the same league as dedicated hardware. If you want more gaming capabilities, you’ll need to look for something bigger, heavier and faster, but this is a brilliant and versatile ultraportable for everyone else.

Intel Arc 8-Cores: Tarjeta gráfica integrada basada en la arquitectura Xe LPG (similar a las GPU Arc dedicadas, pero centrada en la eficiencia). Proporciona los 8 núcleos Xe (128 motores vectoriales Xe) y 8 unidades de trazado de rayos.

Estas tarjetas de video de clase media pueden mostrar todos los juegos actuales fluentemente. Juegos exigentes sólo pueden ser jugados con configuraciones de detalles medios.

Ultra 7 155H: Un chip Meteor Lake de gama alta que debutó en diciembre de 2023. Este procesador Core Ultra de primera generación ha venido a sustituir a los chips Core de 13ª generación; dispone de 16 núcleos (6 + 8 + 2) y 22 hilos. Sus núcleos de rendimiento, de los que hay 6, funcionan hasta a 4,8 GHz mientras que sus núcleos eficientes, de los que hay 10 (8 núcleos principales más 2 extra que se encuentran en la isla de bajo consumo) funcionan hasta a 3,8 GHz. La NPU AI Boost integrada ofrece dos motores Gen 3 para la aceleración de cargas de trabajo de IA por hardware. El consumo de energía "mínimo asegurado" de este procesador para portátiles es de 28 W, mientras que su consumo de energía Turbo se supone que se mantiene dentro de los 115 W.
