Lenovo is already known for making good gaming PCs and laptops, and the Legion Tab is no exception. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset may not be the fastest, but it can easily run most games at the highest settings available. If you are looking for an Android tablet to play games and watch videos and don’t like big-screen devices from the likes of OnePlus, Samsung or Xiaomi, the Legion Tab makes perfect sense. However, those looking for continued software support and a visually appealing UI may have to look elsewhere.

The Lenovo Legion Tab could be an excellent choice for mobile gamers seeking a performance-focused Android tablet. It delivers impressive performance, handling even the most graphically demanding mobile games with ease. Additionally, it offers decent battery life and a comfortable form factor for gaming on the go. However, if gaming isn’t your primary focus and you’re looking for a portable workstation or a tablet with a large display for content consumption, there are other options available on the market.

At the end of the day, the Lenovo Legion Tab (TB320FC) is a great tablet for power users, gamers, and people who will use it just for Web browsing or watching videos. This is possible because the device offers great sustainable performance during heavy loads and a PWM-free IPS display with 98% sRGB color coverage. During normal usage, the back of the machine stays pleasantly cool. If you plan to game a lot, the hard back case will help for a bit better heat dissipation which is important when gaming for an hour or two. In this case, the area close to the camera feels warm but not extreme. The screen isn’t an OLED one, which means it lacks the typical flicker that is usual for this kind of panel.

The Lenovo Legion Tab 3 succeeds at delivering a fantastic gaming experience thanks to its gorgeous display and impressive performance. It's sleek and premium, well-engineered, and packed with intelligent design choices. To top it off, its small size makes it a particularly practical travel device, and brings all of this for a competitive price of $549. If you're looking for a thin and light tablet that's expressly portable, the Legion Tab is one of the best eight-inch tablets I've used, with a top-tier processor, Wi-Fi 7, and bypass charging. For all these reasons, it's earned our Editors' Choice award as a versatile device that's straight up fun to use.

The Lenovo Legion Tab excels as a gaming companion, but it's also a pro at being the ultimate entertainment device, a casual notetaking tablet, or even a gaming handheld if you pair it with the right mobile controller. If you need a great, compact tablet but also want something more premium than the droves of budget Android options, the Legion Tab is one of the only compelling alternatives to the unstoppable iPad Mini... And I personally prefer it. It's lightweight and portable, with a fast and vibrant display, phenomenal gaming performance, and a battery you can trust. Android also gives you access to a respectable library of games from the Google Play Store, emulation platforms, and cloud and remote gaming services. PC gaming handhelds can be awesome, but the Legion Tab is something else entirely, and I love it. You can buy the Lenovo Legion Tab (Gen 3) for $549.99 at Lenovo, if you think this is the right companion device for you.

The Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3 delivers excellent gaming and productivity performance in a travel-friendly design for less than $500. With a fast processor, swift Wi-Fi, and long battery life, it hits the right notes for serious mobile gamers. We do wish the screen were brighter and that it had expandable storage, but if those aren't deal breakers for you, Lenovo’s compact gaming tablet is easy to recommend for mobile gaming. For more general use, we think the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE is a better option for a wider audience, thanks to its bigger, brighter display, excellent software, and long-term support commitment from Samsung.

If budget is not a major concern, you could also consider the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus ($999.99 at Samsung). It offers an incredible 12.4-inch AMOLED display, flagship performance, and tons of premium features, but it will cost you nearly twice as much as the Legion Tab. If you are simply looking for a compact tablet, there are almost no real competitors on the Android side right now outside of the Pixel Tablet ($499 at Amazon), which hasn’t aged that well, and is larger anyway. The only real alternative is the iPad Mini ($459 at Amazon), but that decision comes down to which ecosystem you prefer more than anything else. I still do not think small tablets will appeal to the masses. There is a reason why companies often abandon smaller flagship phones after a few generations. The same might happen with compact tablets. But whether the world embraces them or not, the Lenovo Legion Tab made me remember how fun and practical a well-designed tablet can be.

I need a little bit more time to put together a full review, but I can tell you that I really do enjoy this smaller tablet experience very much. If you’re looking for a desktop replacement or something to work from, I don’t know that this is your device. But if you want a content consumption monster, I don’t know many that get it done better than this Legion Tab Gen 3. When used for the right stuff, it just gets a lot right at a really solid (often discounted) price.

I think that the answer to that question is a pretty solid yes if you’re someone who enjoys mobile games. Sure, you could just as easily get a top-tier phone with the most powerful mobile chipset available. However, the benefit of a tablet like this is that it comes with comparable performance and it has a bigger screen. And trust me, the bigger screen is going to be very nice for mobile games and watching videos. If you already have a tablet you use for games, then maybe this isn’t a worthy buy, unless you want and/or need a really good upgrade.

Lenovo:
