EN→ESThe 12-inch Microsoft Surface Pro is clearly a budget play, dropping the price of Microsoft's excellent tablet to less than $1,000. This tablet has the best features of the Surface design—a sleek frame, an integrated kickstand, and intuitive functionality when paired with the keyboard cover. That’s what many are after when shopping for a Surface Pro or comparable device. But the lower price also comes with compromises. The fanless tablet design hampers performance even more than the step-down processor does. The LCD appears sharp and bright, but it falls short of the high-quality standards of OLED. Finally, the battery life is on the short side, competitively speaking, even if it is long-lived enough to carry you through a day. At this price, the Editors' Choice-award-winning Asus ProArt PZ13 is the better choice, primarily because it includes a keyboard and charger. However, it ultimately wins due to its superior OLED display and slightly better performance, all at a comparable price.

EN→ESIf all you want is something larger than your smartphone for watching Netflix or browsing the web, then an iPad or good Android tablet like the OnePlus Pad 3 still makes more sense because it's cheaper and runs an operating system designed for touch. But if you want a device that can do basic tablet stuff and function as a productivity device, then the new Surface Pro 12-inch is worth serious consideration. The combination of strong performance, excellent battery life, a superb sound system, and a good display for under £800 (currently a lot under) is a hard combination to ignore. Granted, the price creeps up a bit when you add a keyboard and pen, and charger, but you will then have a tremendously useful, versatile, and compact Windows device.

EN→ESWhen it comes to hardware, this model features a 12-inch LCD screen, Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Plus chip, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The battery life is rated to last up to 16 hours, which is pretty good considering its size. The laptop is powered by Windows 11 with Copilot+, which means you'll have access to the latest AI features from Microsoft. The connectivity on this model is pretty sparse, with just two USB-C ports. So if you're looking for more, you may want to invest in a USB hub. For the most part, this Surface Pro is good if you want something compact, powerful, and on a budget. It works well on its own but gets even better with accessories like the keyboard or stylus. The bundle is $150 off, coming in at $750. It's not the cheapest Windows device out there with these specifications, but if you're trying to find something that's versatile, this is going to be your best bet.

EN→ESIf all you want is something larger than your smartphone for watching Netflix or browsing the web, then Android tablets like the OnePlus Pad 3, or a basic iPad still makes more sense because they are cheaper and run an operating system designed for fingers. But if you want a device that can do basic tablet stuff and function as a grown-up laptop, then the new Surface Pro 12 is worth serious consideration. The combination of strong performance, outstanding battery life, a superb sound system and a good if not great display for under £800 is a hard combination to ignore. Granted, the price gets a bit steep when you opt for the keyboard and pen package, but you will then have a tremendously useful, versatile and compact Windows device that is ideal for a multitude of uses. By moving to a cheaper Snapdragon chipset, the Windows tablet has just gone from zero to hero. Who’d have thought it?

EN→ESThe Microsoft Surface Pro 12 is a good, solid laptop/tablet hybrid. It’s got enough power for everyday tasks, excellent battery life and a smart design. The display, while not OLED, is very good, and the kickstand remains one of my favourite design features on any tablet. However, this latest Surface shares many of the same issues that have plagued the series. While it’s great that the starting price is less than the MacBook Air M4 at £799/$799, you’ll need to spend more on the keyboard cover to make this a usable device. An iPad Pro M4 is a great tablet with or without a keyboard added, whereas Windows 11 still needs to be controlled with a trackpad or mouse to get the most from it.The design is a little uninspiring with those chunky screen bezels, and many of the AI features remain underbaked. This is a good entry-level Surface Pro that’d make a great student companion – it’s just not a true successor to the Surface Pro 11.

EN→ESIf you're tempted to jump into the world of the Surface Pro, then the 13-inch model launched last year and the 12-inch model for 2025 are undoubtedly the best devices that Microsoft has put out yet. That's true for both design and build quality, and for performance and battery life. The comparison between the 13-inch and 12-inch models is an interesting one, because the bigger model has an OLED screen, better performance, and an actual charging adapter (this 12-inch model only has a USB-C cable), while not costing a whole lot more: $200 at the time of writing. Of course, you may value portability above everything else, in which case get the smaller one. If you've got an older Surface Pro and are thinking about upgrading, your choice isn't an easy one. It really depends how old your existing model is and how happy you are with its current levels of performance.

EN→ESMicrosoft’s new Surface Pro 12 (2025) is a decent Windows 11 tablet which offers good value for money. It looks good and is easy to carry around, and the ability to run full desktop Windows 11 apps means it is more flexible compared to iPads and Android tablets. However, to get the most out of it, you need to invest in the Surface Pro 12-inch Keyboard, which lowers the value proposition somewhat. The much-trumpeted AI features still feel either underbaked or inessential, but it’s early days for those.

EN→ESThat pushes the pricing up to $950, which is more than you’d pay for a 13-inch Surface Laptop, and close to the $999 launch price of the Surface Laptop 7. While the Surface pricing situation seems more complicated than ever, I love small computers, and the 12-inch Surface Pro has this allure to it that makes me want to keep picking it up for the day. I’d still like to see Microsoft improve the tablet experience in Windows 11 with a mode that’s more like what existed in Windows 8. But even without those improvements, the 12-inch Surface Pro is as close as Microsoft has ever gotten to fulfilling my dream of a lightweight PC you can throw under your arm and carry around all day without worrying about battery life. It’s still not perfect, but it’s not the heartbreaker the Surface Pro X once was.

EN→ESThe new little Surface Pro straddles the line between a portable tablet and a compact Windows laptop (with an optional keyboard). Like the old, underpowered Surface Go—but actually good! I wish it had an OLED screen with HDR, but otherwise it exceeds expectations.

EN→ESMicrosoft’s newest Surface Pro is admittedly a little boring, but that makes it easy to recommend. The company’s latest 2-in-1 is a revamp of the entry-level Surface Pro, complete with a worse 12-inch screen and a slightly slower Snapdragon X Plus processor. Priced at $799, the device costs hundreds of dollars less than most 2-in-1 devices and flagship laptops, but it manages to keep up quite well. It’s a device that capitalizes on two things: the speed and efficiency of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors and Microsoft’s Copilot+ AI. The result is an affordable and portable Surface device that is perfect for those who need something for light work, creators who need to edit photos, and those who want their Windows device to last all day. It’s also ideal if you’re just hopping on the AI bandwagon, because all of Microsoft’s goodness is packed inside.

EN→ESThe Surface Pro 12 redefines how compact Windows hardware can serve practical, real-world needs. Its value isn’t rooted in technical dominance or low pricing. It comes from how effectively the device supports a mobile, focused workflow. This model favors portability and responsiveness over excess. It’s built for those who move constantly between meetings, transit, and flexible workspaces, without wanting to sacrifice the continuity of a full Windows environment. The smaller form factor isn’t a downgrade. It’s deliberate, eliminating clutter and favoring daily-use speed, comfort, and silence.Microsoft’s design choices reflect this purpose. From the near-instant wake time to the magnetic keyboard closure, the experience is tuned to reduce friction. That fluidity helps the device become second nature.

Comentario
