EN→ESThe 2026 Motorola Edge will likely get overlooked by bigger names in the midrange space, but I’d argue it still excels where it counts most: display and battery life. Compared with the Editors' Choice Google Pixel 10a and the also-excellent Samsung Galaxy A57, the Edge boasts the brightest (if smallest) screen. It also delivers 17 hours of battery life, enough to get you through the day.

EN→ESAs mentioned, standing out in a sea of similar mid-range phones is difficult. Motorola’s attempt to do so with the Edge 70 centres around an eye catching design, lightweight body, interesting UI, and a solid mix of components at a relatively good price point. If you are indeed looking for something a little different or unique, this device comes highly recommended, and could be a nice palette cleanser for consumers tiered of metallic or jewel tone options that are at every turn in this particular segment. We will not say that Motorola is truly back, but more phones like the Edge 70 and it will start to shake things up.

EN→ESIf you’re looking for a very slim and sexy handset that offers change from a thousand bucks, the Motorola Edge 70 is very tempting. But if you care more about substance than style, it’s worth playing the field. Two rear 50 MP lenses and a third around the front sounds impressive, even though we all know megapixel counts aren’t everything. Losing that dedicated telephoto lens is a major blow to the Edge 70’s value proposition, even if it was only 3x optical zoom. Without a telephoto lens, it’s much harder to stand out from similarly priced dual-lens competitors like the Samsung Galaxy A57 and Google Pixel 10a – both of which are better all-rounders with more graphics grunt that get more years of OS updates.

EN→ESIncidentally, Nothing Phone (4a) and Motorola Edge 70 target buyers looking for a stylish mid-range smartphone, but they approach the idea of a “lifestyle device” quite differently. Nothing’s unique aesthetic and Glyph Interface reinforce its identity as a design-led disruptor, whereas Motorola’s focus on durability and practical AI features aligns with its strategy to offer reliable, user-friendly devices in the mid-range market.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70, for all its few flaws in-between, is a slim phone done right. Aside from the exceptional design language that I absolutely love, the Moto Edge 70 has a lovely screen, and while performance is nothing to write home about, it didn't irked me as much as the synthetic benchmarks would otherwise suggest. And definitely props to Motorola for not cutting any corners in the battery department, the crux of this generation of thin phones like the iPhone Air or the Galaxy S25 Edge. It surely felt quite refreshing to use a device that combines an ultra-thin build with a more than adequate battery and great endurance. On the downside, I missed having a telephoto camera on this phone. The software also isn't a highlight: most of the Motorola-exclusive AI features aren't very useful. And don't get me started on the preinstalled bloatware –– we should have left that in the previous decade. Overall, despite the few kinks that need to be ironed out, the Motorola Edge 70 is one very decent thin phone.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 is an interesting phone. Of all slim devices I've seen, it has a distinct advantage in that it's cheaper and feels more like a 'normal' phone – in a good way. The downside compared to irs more expensive competitors is that it's clearly a mid-range phone rather than offering flagship power. Motorola's software experience and camera can't compete at this price level either. However, there's a great display, flagship-grade protection, and a nice design. The smaller battery isn't much of a compromise either, as it still lasts through the day with nice fast-charging for top-ups, while the performance will be good enough for all but the most demanding. Ultimately, the Moto Edge 70 achieves slimness at a lower cost than Apple's and Samsung's equivalents, making it a good step for slim phones – but not one defining enough to make them the de facto choice for everyone just yet.

EN→ESThe Edge 70 proves that Ultra thin phones doesn’t have to feel compromised. Its main camera and ultrawide cameras deliver consistently strong results, while low light performance and video is well supported by OIS and smart AI features. The lack of telephoto lens limits how far you can zoom, but for most users it is a reasonable trade off. Consider its excellent battery life, bright and colour-accurate screen and the Edge 70 stands out as one of the best slim smartphones you can get right now.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 works because it sticks to its core idea and mostly delivers on it. The slim design is not just a talking point; it genuinely makes the phone easier and more comfortable to use every day. Unlike many thin phones, it does not feel fragile or compromised, and battery life holds up better than expected. Performance, display quality, and software are steady rather than flashy, which suits the phone’s overall character. There are still some trade-offs. The cameras are reliable but do not stand out, especially in low light. The curved frame design can also cause accidental touches that become annoying at times. Moto AI features feel uneven as well, sometimes struggling to add real value to the experience. Still, none of these issues takes away from what the Edge 70 does well.

EN→ESUltra-thin phones always come with a caveat. They look great and feel futuristic, but in most cases, they end up compromising on the things that matter. Samsung and Apple explored the territory earlier this year with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone Air, but the trade-offs were premium pricing and compromised battery life. However, the equation seems to be slightly shifting with the Motorola Edge 70. It is thin, light, and relatively affordable at the same time. Priced at Rs 29,999, the Edge 70 sits in a competitive segment where buyers prioritise performance, battery life, and camera versatility. So where does this phone win and how does it fall short? Based on our detailed review, here are four reasons to buy the Motorola Edge 70 and two reasons to skip it.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 is priced at Rs 29,999 and comes in a single 8GB + 256GB variant. For the price, it is an excellent choice for users who value comfort and design above all. Its exceptionally slim and lightweight build makes it the most ergonomic phone in its segment. In addition to that, you get a vibrant display, one-day battery life, fast charging, and capable cameras, and the Edge 70 fits perfectly as a lifestyle-focused smartphone for everyday users. All that being said, it is not perfect. The speakers’ sound is flat and disappointing, and the video output can be inconsistent at times. There is a caveat here: if performance, endurance, and overall value matter more to you, there are better alternatives. The OnePlus Nord 5 (review) delivers stronger performance, a better display and speakers, and similar camera results with superior battery life.

EN→ESIf battery endurance is your absolute top priority and you want a phone that lasts two full days on a single charge, there are devices with 6,000mAh or even 7,000mAh batteries that will suit you better. However, the Motorola Edge 70 makes a conscious trade-off. It prioritises thinness and comfort over maximum endurance. And considering how slim it is, delivering all-day battery life is no small achievement. Long story short, if you want a beautifully designed phone that feels light in the hand, offers an excellent display, has reliable cameras, and performs smoothly in daily use, the Motorola Edge 70 makes a strong case for itself at Rs 29,999. As mentioned, if your priority is maximum battery life above all else, there are better options out there. But if you value design, comfort, and a clean, polished user experience, the Motorola Edge 70 succeeds at exactly what it set out to do.

Whether you then accept the compromises in battery and camera performance is up to you and your requirements. The thing is, thin phones better suit mid-range specs, purely because it's hard to stuff the very best tech inside. They're primarily design-over-specs devices, and the more reasonable cost of the Edge 70 means it makes better sense than other examples that pretend to be high-end models. Yet, it’s very well-made, durable, and available in some fantastic colors. The camera is fine, performance is good if you’re not a high-end gamer, and there’s long support for the software.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 arguably boasts the best design among today's ultra-slim smartphones. Its premium build delivers everything - lupscale design, increased water and drop resistance, and one of the most comfortable grips in a long time. And on top of that, it's impressively thin. We appreciate the large OLED display with its high resolution and fast refresh rate, and the phone's battery life turned out to be excellent, matched by equally impressive charging speeds. We also have to give credit to Motorola for its clean and thoughtful approach to Android. And then there are the cameras, which deliver excellent results both day and night - ultimately becoming the phone’s most unexpected highlight. The chipset performance is not very competitive.

EN→ESProbably not, though it is the best example of an ultra-slim phone so far. The Edge 70 combines that thin and light chassis with genuinely strong battery life, immediately raising it above the iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 FE. Its design is one of the best on any phone, with great aesthetics and top-tier durability. While the cameras aren’t quite top tier, you can get some excellent results from both the main and selfie lenses. However, the lack of a telephoto lens means zoom photography is pretty awful. But the big surprise is the poor software experience. Motorola’s once-slick take on Android has become a bloated mess that’s full of useless pre-installed apps and ads at every turn. Meanwhile, the commitment to only four years of OS upgrades falls behind the likes of Apple, Samsung and Google. The Edge 70 gets a lot right, including a more affordable price tag than rivals, but it’s a phone I simply can’t recommend.

EN→ESThe Edge series from Motorola has been one of the most consistently interesting lines of Android phones for cost-conscious buyers; they’re not always the best smartphones around, but they look classy and get you unrivaled value for money in the Android world. But I’m not so sure about the Motorola Edge 70, which has fallen in with the wrong crowd by trying to follow the new thin-phone ‘trend’. Super-thin smartphones are starting to feel like a new bandwagon that tech companies are leaping on, apparently after having noticed the huge lack of interest buyers had in the last bandwagon: AI. This bandwagon’s turning out no better: we didn’t love the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, and the iPhone Air was lambasted online, and so the Motorola Edge 70 has a lot to prove.

EN→ESUltrathin phones, in my mind, aren’t true flagships, despite the fact that they usually cost close to a grand. They don’t offer the same high-end camera hardware, processing power takes a hit in such a thin chassis, and the battery leaves much to be desired. That’s why Motorola’s Edge 70 feels like the first slimline phone that makes sense. It’s not a flagship, with a much more comfortable £699 price tag that makes the ultrathin compromises much easier to swallow. And even then, Motorola has managed to up the competition in the all-important battery life and charging department, which alone should make the Edge 70 a tempting alternative to the iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. The only real chink in its armour is the chipset. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 isn’t exactly a powerful chip, and that’ll immediately put some off.

It's not perfect, but this slim Moto boasts several upgrades vs the flawed iPhone Air. The big one is that near 5000mAh battery, which means this phone can happily last a full, demanding day on a single charge - while other thin phones need a top up before evening. Factor in the fast charge support and the Motorola Edge 70 is a clear winner here. Performance isn't as strong sadly, with a mid-range Snapdragon chipset in charge. All the same, most casual gaming fans should be happy enough, while the everyday experience is smooth. That camera setup includes an ultra-wide, so the Motorola Edge 70 again has an advantage over the iPhone Air there. I like the stock Android vibes, while Moto now offers a more respectable upgrade promise. You've got some decent bonus features, from a well stocked gaming mode to excellent gesture support. Plus the Motorola Edge 70 serves up a quality display and stereo speakers.

EN→ESI can’t recommend the Motorola Edge 70. Although it offers the best balance between price and functionality of any ultra-thin smartphone I’ve tested, I don’t think that this particular form factor is there yet. If brands don’t drop the idea entirely, I do not doubt that the next generation (or perhaps the one after that) will be even thinner and lighter, while offering better performance and battery life – switching to silicon-carbon cells will be a big help there. For the time being, if you’re desperate for an ultra-thin phone, this is the one to buy. The lightweight build is wonderful, and the price isn’t as tear-inducing as the other options. To anyone else, however, I’d say you’re better off waiting and seeing where this particular trend leads before putting down your money.

The Edge 70 is the closest any have come to being the total package, which is impressive given it has a more mainstream price than the key competition. It’ll comfortably last a day of use, and won’t keep you waiting when it’s time to refuel. Motorola hasn’t skimped on the styling or materials, either. Performance and camera image quality are more in line with the more affordable side of the mid-range spectrum, though, so you’re definitely paying over the odds in order to lose a few millimetres.

EN→ESFor users looking for a productive and long-lasting device that does not feel like a bulky “brick,” the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is likely to be a strong fit. One of its main advantages is that, despite a 7000 mAh battery, it maintains a relatively slim and refined design. It also features a high-quality OLED display with up to 144 Hz refresh rate, capable hardware, a clean Android 16 experience with long-term updates and AI features, solid stereo sound, and cameras that are competitive for its class. There are few objective weaknesses to highlight.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 Fusion feels modern and tough right out of the box. Announced and released on March 2, 2026, it sports a sleek, slim design (just 7.2 mm thick in some versions) but does not compromise on durability. It has a glass front with Gorilla Glass 7i, a plastic frame, and impressive protection IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance meaning it can survive high-pressure water jets and submersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. It is also drop resistant up to 1.2 meters and meets MIL-STD-810H military standards. The display is a stunning 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with 1 billion colors, a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, and an eye-searing peak brightness of 5200 nits great for sunlight visibility. Whether you are scrolling social media or watching HDR10+ videos, it looks fantastic. Depending on where you buy it, the phone runs on either a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 (International) or a slightly faster Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 (India) chipset, both built on a power-efficient 4nm process. It comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage no microSD card slot. The phone runs Android 16 out of the box and promises three major Android upgrades, so it will stay current for years. For photography, you get a solid dual camera setup a 50MP main shooter with optical image stabilization (OIS) for sharp, steady shots, plus a 13MP ultrawide camera with a 120 degree field of view. Selfies are handled by a 32MP front camera.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is a mid-range phone with a mid-tier set of abilities. It has a plastic casing, a processor that doesn’t get remotely close to flagship performance, particularly for gaming, and while the camera can take solid photos, it’s not hard to pick out the odd issue. This phone ends up being elevated by its Silicon-Carbon battery, which sends battery life off into the stratosphere without making the phone too chunky.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is a well-rounded mid-range phone; the battery life is fantastic, charging is nice and nippy, performance is decent enough for this kind of money, the display is sharp and capable of excellent brightness, and the cameras are, for the most part, better than we usually see in this price range. If you’re looking for a reliable camera and excellent stamina for under £400, the Edge 70 Fusion will serve you well. But standing in its way is the Honor Magic 8 Lite, which achieves slightly longer battery life while also offering twice the storage capacity, improved software support and, at the time of writing, a lower asking price of £350. I was less impressed with the cameras, however, with the ultrawide in particular being one of the weakest I’ve tested. If camera quality is a high priority for you, I’d still stick with the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion.

EN→ESThe Vivo X200T at Rs 59,999 is one of the most well-rounded premium-flagship smartphones available in India right now. It delivers a premium design, a vibrant and immersive display, a clean and capable new operating system, a chipset that is better than its flagship siblings, and a triple-camera system that is genuinely excellent across all three lenses. It lacks in efficient heating removal and the LTPS panel drops to up to 60Hz but neither is a dealbreaker due to the price point. The Vivo X200T is a phone for buyers who want the complete package without paying ultra-flagship prices.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Plus is designed for users who want a premium feel and top-tier durability without breaking the bank. Announced and released in March 2026, this phone makes a great first impression with its incredibly slim profile—just 7.2mm thick and weighing a light 177 grams. It feels sleek in the hand, but do not let its slender build fool you; this phone is exceptionally tough. It boasts IP68/IP69 ratings, meaning it is not only dust-tight but can withstand high-pressure water jets and being submerged in water. On top of that, it meets the MIL-STD-810H military standard for durability and is resistant to drops from up to 1.2 meters, making it a fantastic choice for anyone with an active lifestyle. When it comes to the visual experience, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Plus is all about delivering vibrant and smooth performance.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is a well-rounded mid-range smartphone that offers a slim and lightweight design, reliable battery life, capable cameras, a clean UI, and a vibrant display. The fabric finish and Pantone colours give it a distinctive look, while the curved display makes the phone comfortable to hold and use. It’s especially appealing for users who want a stylish phone that can easily last through a full day of regular use. Performance is sufficient for everyday tasks, social media, streaming, and moderate gaming, though it may not be the best choice for heavy gaming or intensive workloads.

EN→ESOverall, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion appears to tick several important boxes for a phone in this segment. It offers a premium-looking design, a vibrant curved display, upgraded cameras, a new Snapdragon chipset, and a significantly larger battery. On paper, it looks like a well-rounded device that could appeal to users who prioritise battery life, clean software, and a stylish design without stepping into flagship pricing. That said, the real test will be how well these features translate into everyday performance, camera consistency, and battery optimisation. If Motorola manages to deliver on those aspects, the Edge 70 Fusion could be a strong contender in the sub-Rs 30,000 category.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 Fusion feels like a phone that doesn’t try too hard to stand out — and in some ways, that works in its favour for users who want to keep things minimal. During the few weeks I used it as my secondary device, it handled the things I actually use a phone for pretty comfortably: scrolling through social media, watching videos and more. The display is easily one of its highlights, especially if you spend a lot of time watching reels, YouTube videos or simply scrolling. Motorola’s clean Android interface also makes the phone feel less cluttered compared with many other Android phones.

EN→ESThe Edge 70 Pro gets a lot right. It combines a slim build and sleek design with one of the best displays in its class, clean software, dependable cameras, and good battery life into a package that feels far more premium than other alternatives in the crowded Rs 40,000 category. EN→ESTo conclude, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro tries to stand out from the crowd. The handset features a sleek, premium design language. However, the overall look and feel match the Edge DNA, but it has now become monotonous, especially in the design. That said, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro is still available in different finishes, which is rare at this price point. The company has also ensured a vivid display that delivers sharp, colourful visuals. Plus, the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection sure adds some sturdiness, though don't risk testing it out. The performance is decent considering the price tag. However, it does get hot after prolonged usage. Moreover, the cameras are decent for the price, but don't expect them to perform well in different lighting conditions.

EN→ESWhile there are other factors to consider before buying a smartphone, software remains a key one, as it is the layer that ties everything together. Neither smartphone offers the longest software support in the sub-Rs 40,000 segment, but both stay close to stock Android. That said, despite sharing a similar philosophy, the way these two smartphones approach software is markedly different. The Motorola Edge 70 Pro brings useful additions such as gesture controls, deeper customisation options, and an extensive AI toolkit, all while staying fairly close to Google’s vision of Android. However, that added functionality comes with some baggage: preloaded apps, occasional recommendations, and elements like Glance, which dilute the clean Android appeal – even if they can be disabled.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 Pro gets the basics right. It offers a comfortable design, strong display, reliable performance and dependable battery life. However, it does come with compromises. The camera lacks consistency, thermal performance could be better for extended gaming, and the software experience is slightly less clean than before. This is a good option for users seeking a balanced smartphone focused on everyday usability. However, those prioritising camera versatility, sustained gaming performance or larger battery capacity may want to consider alternatives.

EN→ESPriced starting at Rs 38,999, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro remains a sensible choice for most users. However, as noted in our detailed review, there are areas where the smartphone could have performed better. Despite being more expensive than its predecessor, the OEM has had to cut a few corners to keep the price competitive, largely due to rising memory costs. This calls for a more thoughtful consideration, and that’s exactly what this article aims to provide. The Motorola Edge 70 Pro gets the fundamentals right: design, battery life, display, and day-to-day smoothness. It’s a phone that feels great to live with, especially if you prioritise comfort and reliability over raw power. However, it stops just short of being a complete all-rounder. If your priorities lean towards gaming performance, camera accuracy, or long-term software support, there are more compelling options in the same bracket. For everyone else, though, this is a well-balanced device that quietly excels in the areas that matter most day to day.

EN→ESUnlike its predecessor, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro no longer tries to do everything, and that shift comes with a few noticeable trade-offs, likely influenced by rising RAM costs. The most prominent omissions are wireless charging and a dedicated telephoto camera. The absence of wireless charging is easier to overlook; none of its direct rivals offers it either. However, the recently-launched Nothing Phone (4a) Pro offers a reliable telephoto camera, making its setup more versatile. The handset pulls ahead in areas like selfies and portrait photography, where its processing feels more refined and consistent. Furthermore, software support is another area where the Edge 70 Pro falls behind.

EN→ESThe Motorola Edge 70 Pro gets almost everything right, and this time, there’s really just one clear compromise or two, if you also factor in the omission of wireless charging. The Edge 70 Pro brings a stunning design that feels premium in every sense, one of the best displays in the segment, strong and reliable performance, clean near-stock software, and excellent battery life that genuinely lasts. This is a very well-rounded, polished smartphone that delivers in almost every department. The only real downgrade comes in the camera department, especially when you compare it to the Motorola Edge 60 Pro. While the cameras are still good and usable, they don’t quite match the expectations set by its predecessor. So the decision is straightforward, if cameras are not your absolute top priority, the Edge 70 Pro is an easy recommendation. Apart from that, this is easily one of the most complete phones you can buy right now, especially considering that it doesn’t cost a bomb.
