El ASUS Zenbook A14 UX3407 es un portátil que no disimula su pertenencia a la última renovación de los Zenbook de ASUS. El diseño, con ese "ceraluminium" tan característico, destila calidad y buen hacer en todos los rincones. Es una línea que se ha hecho su propio hueco en el mercado y donde este A14 es uno de los modelos más portables y compactos disponibles. Ofrece lo último en conectividad, con WiFi 7 y USB4, junto a una pantalla OLED con una resolución equilibrada como son los 1.920 x 1.200, pero que arrastra unos insuficientes 60 Hz.El Snapdragon X2 Elite X88-100 ha resultado ser un procesador muy solvente, capaz de competir con Intel y AMD, y superarlos incluso en rendimiento single core o de NPU, con una GPU que ha dado un salto enorme desde las pasadas generaciones. Su precio es de 1.999 euros, una cantidad elevada si lo comparamos con equipos como el propio Zenbook A16 UX3607 con el Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme. Ese modelo cuesta 300 euros más, pero nos llevamos una pantalla más grande, de mayor resolución y que con sus 120 Hz no se queda anclada en los ridículos 60 Hz. Por otro lado, el X2 Elite Extreme ofrece un extra de rendimiento en CPU y GPU que puede ser interesante en ciertos usos pesados, y tiene más memoria RAM. Este modelo entraría a competir directamente con el ASUS ExperBook Ultra, que tiene una pantalla también mejor en resolución y Hz, y cuesta 1.849 euros.

Si el A16 no te convence por tamaño, ASUS también pone a nuestra disposición esta joyita con pantalla de 14 pulgadas en una apuesta por equipar el hardware ARM más potente para Windows actualmente disponible. La potencia está sobre la mesa con 18 núcleos, una NPU de 80 TOPS para IA y unos gráficos integrados capaces de mover juegos. La compatibilidad con aplicaciones es cada vez mejor, y la conversión interna de x86 a ARM ni siquiera se nota, salvo en escenarios específicos como juegos o quizás aplicaciones de ciertos segmentos profesionales. Lo que queremos decir es que la plataforma cada vez está más madura, pero para ciertos profesionales y tareas existen limitaciones evidentes que hacen de este portátil una apuesta más arriesgada que por ejemplo un Zenbook con Ultra 9 o Ryzen IA. El resto de armas también están muy bien afiladas, con una pantalla OLED, de 60 Hz, pero calibrada de forma impecable, buena teclado, touchpad y sonido, sumando una conectividad escasa pero potente con Wi-Fi 7 y 2 USB4 donde conectar un hub de expansión.

When we reviewed the first Snapdragon A14 back in February 2025, it cost £1,099. The new model is £500 more, and for the extra you get more power, much longer battery life, improved wireless communications and better speakers. But you don’t get a sharper screen or touch compatibility, both improvements that, I think, the increase in price demands. I’m not for a moment arguing that the new A14 isn’t the state of the compact laptop art. It is. Everything about it is excellent or borderline, and it’s certainly a five-star product. It’s just that I’m not wholly convinced that the improvements quite match the price jump.

The 2026 refresh of the Asus Zenbook A14 brings compeling Snapdragon X2 Elite hardware to a lightweight 14-inch chassis that weighs about 1 kilo. It's a solid performer when needed, especially on the CPU side, and it can run quietly, cooly and efficiently when that's required instead. But the Elite hardware is expensive, and push this Zenbook to a level where many might find it difficult to justify. Hopefully a more affordable mid-specced variation will be available as well later in the year.

70% I loved Asus’s Zenbook A14 and A16 — but a $200 price hike changes everything

As the Asus Zenbook A14 was put on the right track to take on the MacBook Air last year, this year’s A14 and A16 march forward when it comes to performance, but while the A16 shows up strongly with pro level performance in a skinny body, the A14 takes a step back in value for money. For great ultra-portable all-rounders, Apple stays, and if you’re loyal to Microsoft’s OS and want that same experience, the Zenbook A14 is a good (if expensive) alternative. Meanwhile, the A16 sets a new precedent for a thin and light pro machine that bridges the gap between MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, but the stamina suffers because of it. And with adjusted pricing showing the gap widening in bang for buck between Apple and Asus, what was a shoe-in for two of my favorite systems of the year has left me feeling indifferent.

The Asus Zenbook A14 (2026) is a beefy and super light Windows laptop that impresses with its potent internals from a new chip, immense endurance and a stylish look. The needle has moved a lot in price against the old model, though, and a 1920×1200 screen for the price feels a little off. Against the older Asus Zenbook A14, you’re getting a lot more grunt and a little more in the way of battery life, although for £500 more in terms of retail price. The Acer Swift 16 AI (2026) provides similar grunt with an Intel Panther Lake chip, plus a larger and higher-res OLED screen (although at the expense of 12 hours of runtime) for a similar outlay, while the Acer Swift Edge 14 AI has a higher-res OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and similar computing power for a lower price tag. Don’t get me wrong, the Asus Zenbook A14 (2026) is a lovely laptop, and a lot of it is in part due to the Snapdragon X2 Elite chip inside, but rising costs mean it suffers the same price-driven criticism as the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro. All in all, the Zenbook A16 is a rather interesting ultra-light laptop with an excellent display, solid inputs and IO, and impressive power at its size. But it’s still a Snapdragon laptop with its quirks and software limitations, which buyers are going to struggle to adopt.
