Lenovo ThinkPad E550. Modelo de pruebas ofrecido por CampusPoint.

A un precio de 1000 Euros, no cabe considerar al top-model de la serie E550 un básico y, lógicamente, las expectativas son altas. Por desgracia, el ThinkPad no logra cumplirlas.

Los defectos más importantes son el panel TN, que es mediocre como mucho, el lento HDD y la escasa garantía de apenas 12 meses. Los otros modelos de la serie tienen los mismos defectos, pero suelen venderse por unos cuantos cientos de Euros menos. Nuestra configuración tal cual no es la más convincente, ya que parte del presupuesto se fue en pagar la CPU Core i7 - el cual no ofrece ningún beneficio de rendimiento importante respecto al procesador Core i5 mucho más eficiente desde el punto de vista del coste.

Nuestra recomendación es tener en cuenta un modelo reducido y más asequible.

A fin de cuentas, el E550 es una sólida bestia de carga con unos dispositivos de entrada soberbios y un nivel de ruido bajísimo. Por supuesto, hay algunas diferencias en calidad en ciertas áreas comparado con los modelos de las series superiores L y T, pero a la vista del muy inferior precio, esas diferencias resultan aceptables. Los usuarios pacientes pueden querer esperar hasta que el E560 con Skylake salga al mercado, ya que el E550 puede convertirse en una auténtica ganga en los próximos meses: los modelos ThinkPad descontinuados suelen venderse a precios muy atractivos.
