If you’re lucky enough to live in one of the markets where the Find N5 is sold, and you’re after a new book-style foldable, yes. The Oppo holds enough key advantages over its fresher-faced rivals that I’d argue it’s the best of the bunch, though we’re yet to test the international variant of the Honor Magic V5. It offers more functionality (including stylus support) and faster charging than the Z Fold 7, while ColorOS has proven to be a more elegant, approachable and capable experience than Honor’s MagicOS. Honor might have the Find N5 beat from a numbers perspective when looking at the hardware on offer, but I think the Find N5 might be the nicer entry to live with. If the Find N5 isn’t readily available, I’d say that, in spite of its greatness, the hoops to import one and ensure all of its functionality is available to you are likely too numerous to overcome, especially when two similar-capable alternatives will be widely available in many markets without caveats.

With a score of 144, the Oppo Find N5 falls short of the top-performing foldable devices in our database and offers an average performance when compared with traditional candy-bar smartphones. Despite this, the Oppo Find N5, the latest in the company’s foldable lineup, continues to show progress over previous generations, particularly in video performance, where we observed a significant improvement in the overall user experience. In terms of readability, the device performs well indoors, offering well-calibrated brightness levels comparable to direct competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, in bright outdoor conditions, its peak brightness remains insufficient, falling short of the best-in-class displays, especially that of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

What’s impressive about the OPPO Find N5 isn’t just its thinness, but how much has been packed into the overall package. Beyond the chipset, battery, and camera performance, it also delivers practical features that power users will appreciate. Chief among them is the Boundless View multitasking feature, which makes full use of the internal display – something other foldables (and even tablets) have yet to replicate effectively. That said, like most products we’ve reviewed, it isn’t without flaws. Issues such as pre-installed bloatware and the unnecessarily tedious process of connecting to a Mac, among others, hold it back from being a complete package. Its RM7,999 price tag doesn’t help its case either. Still, I personally think the OPPO Find N5 is the foldable to beat this year. With several months still to go, there’s time for others to challenge it – but for now, it sets a strong benchmark in the category.

The lenses sit in a circular module on the back, very similar to the OnePlus design (both brands belong to the same parent company). Like OnePlus, Oppo uses the Swedish Hasselblad branding, offering premium filters and smart scene modes for tricky lighting, concerts, fireworks, silhouettes, and more. Bottom line: the camera performs very well, day or night. Photos aren’t ultra-sharp and can show some noise or slight blur, but they maintain natural colors without excessive saturation. When unfolded, you can shrink the camera preview to half the mini tablet’s display or show it on the external screen too, so your subject can see themselves before you snap the photo.

Wrapping things up, the OPPO Find N5 is definitely a serious glow-up for foldables. This thing’s sleek, thin, and definitely feels like something you could actually use every single day, just as you would with a regular smartphone. The displays are great, vibrant, smooth, and the crease? Barely noticeable. You still get that satisfying foldable experience without feeling like you’re compromising on too much. Now, it’s not perfect. The cameras are solid but not quite flagship-level, and they could do with some improvements. At the end of the day, foldables are here to stay, and the OPPO Find N5 shows just how much potential they have to be a solid daily driver.

There’s absolutely loads to love about this folding smartphone. Its compact size, shape and weight really do make you feel like you’re using a regular phone most of the time, only you’ve got a secret tablet with you when you need it. It’s also capable of taking some pretty impressive pictures, and actually leaves me feeling like someone has actually given a hoot about photographers when putting the cameras into this thing. The Oppo Find N5 unfolded, with the native camera app shown on screen. And all of that inside something which, in theory at least, is priced competitively against folding units from bigger names on the market, namely Samsung and Google. Only, that’s exactly what it is, “in theory.” If I wanted to buy this phone, I couldn’t, because I’m not in one of the markets that Oppo has decided to sell it in.

I am very pleased that I have been able to get the OPPO Find N5 and put it through its paces as this is a very worthy successor to the OnePlus Open which was one of my favourite foldables that was readily available in the Western markets. it was actually after using it for a short period of time I owned it better than my previous favourite the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. I have to say that I was very excited by the prospect of the OPPO Find N5 and what could have been with the rumoured OnePlus Open 2 (sadly that never happened). I had my concerns going into this review from what I had seen in terms of the specs and various videos I had seen about the phone from initial hands-on impressions.

Personally i have never, ever, ever thought to myself "I wish my smartphone was thinner" Not even once. But here we are - with smartphone companies competeing to be the thinnest. Strange. This time around Oppo decided to 3D print their hinge out of some Titanium. Which left a weak point in the phones frame. The Oppo Find N5 does not survive the bend test.

Some products can be considered in a vacuum – but this is not one of them. The Oppo Find N5 is the most technically impressive folding phone on the market: light in a pocket; low on the crease; and as thin as its USB port physically allows. By most objective metrics, it’s the best foldable there is. And yet it’s also a symbol of a product category whose prices remain stubbornly high, while its adoption stays fairly low. That’s led some folks (rightly) to ask if book-type foldables, as a category, are living on borrowed time. And while I sincerely hope that’s not true … we know from hard experience that being the best at something doesn’t always mean you win. The upshot is that this is an outstanding product … that nevertheless may not have a place in the modern world. I spent a month with the Oppo Find N5, to see how it stacks up to the other foldables in my arsenal … and I tested its cameras with a visit to another technological marvel that was ahead of its time.

The Oppo Find N5 offers an outstanding experience with fewer flaws than its principal competition. It is the folding phone we’ve been waiting for in many ways. Oppo built a folding phone with the best compromises, resulting in the perfect design. Despite being the thinnest, it doesn’t compromise on key areas such as battery life, display, and performance. Two-thirds of the camera system is fantastic, but as a whole, it’s still better than most of the competition. It’s more expensive than the competition and still too expensive for most, especially as you will likely have to pay for it outright without carrier deals. The high price and lack of availability essentially surrendered the folding phone market in the US to Samsung and Google. It’s disappointing; the Find N5 is so good that everyone should be able to experience it.

Overall, I think the Find N5 is probably the best-designed foldable I’ve used. It barely has a crease, its flat sides are really comfortable to hold, and I’m not scared of breaking it like I am with other foldables. It feels solid despite being the thinnest foldable you can get. Battery life, processing power, and its telephoto camera are all positives, too. At the same time, the O Plus Connect functionality will likely appeal to a select few who dream of Android/Mac seamlessness. Given its positives, I feel like I can look past a few of those annoying quirks that I mentioned. However, it’s held back by the limited camera performance, and one ridiculous decision that leaves it dead in the water for most people: OPPO has made it incredibly difficult for users to purchase this device.

This feels normal is among the highest praise you could give a foldable phone, in my book, and the Find N5 has earned it. Whether I'm using the cover display or the internal one, I'm not constantly reminded of how gimmicky the concept of a foldable phone can be, because everything feels sleek and comfortable. Yes, the Find N5 is remarkably thin and lightweight, but it's also exceptionally practical and enjoyable to use. And it's good to see that a thinner build doesn't necessarily mean slimmer capabilities. I'm personally still not sure if I'd make the switch full-time to a foldable phone, largely because of the high price tag, but the Oppo Find N5 helped to assuage some of my reservations about practicality and bulkiness. After all, social media scrolls and multitasking just aren't the same on a non-folding phone after seeing what's possible on the flip side.

The OPPO Find N5 isn’t just another foldable—it’s a statement. With its ultra-thin design, nearly invisible crease, a foldable-first camera that competes with traditional flagships, and a massive battery that doesn’t sacrifice portability, OPPO has redefined what we should expect from foldable smartphones in 2025. But while the Find N5 raises the bar for hardware and usability, there’s a catch—you might not be able to buy one. OPPO has labeled this a “global launch,” yet the phone doesn’t seem to be headed for the US or EU, making its availability feel oddly restricted. For now, the Find N5 will officially go on sale in Singapore on February 28th, priced at SGD 2,499. Other regions will likely follow, but OPPO has yet to clarify exactly where and when.

The Oppo Find N5 is a phenomenal foldable smartphone. It uses the latest hardware, adds up more battery life, and has an invisible display crease. Moreover, the camera results aren’t that boring, you can still find impressive photos and videos. In addition to that, there are extra features like IP protection, impressive sound output, top-end connectivity perks, and other aspect that make this phone a pretty deal. n other words, market leader Samsung must be quaking in its boots. Because the Oppo Find N5 blows the Galaxy Z Fold 6 away in almost every department. From battery capacity to charging speed to the form factor, I would pick Oppo over Samsung. While Samsung may be ahead currently when it comes to integrating AI into its phones — see the Galaxy S25 Ultra — the Find N5 does have Google Gemini and Circle to Search. At the launch, Oppo said that deeper integration between Gemini and Oppo's apps is coming. In the meantime, Oppo has its own AI features, which are the usual ones like AI summary and AI Eraser.

Okay, so should you buy the OPPO Find N5? Well, it’s thin and has great battery life. The cameras are great if you don’t use the ultrawide angle, and the software remains familiar to those who are familiar with the Find N3 Fold. If you like the phone – then go for it. No one can stop you. If you want my opinion on it, then I’m going to lay a hot take here. While the OPPO Find N5 is indeed thin, I think that its thinness comes with many sacrifices. Remember – we cannot cheat physics. With a phone this thin, we can only fit so many components in it. It’s clear that the gaming performance is heavily affected, using a nerfed Snapdragon 8 Elite can’t help much either. The camera bump is also thinner but that doesn’t actually affect the quality much – except for the ultrawide angle camera. But my conclusion remains the same.

The Oppo Find N5 is undoubtedly 2025's hottest new folding phone – and with the OnePlus Open 2 now off the books for this year, Oppo can spread its wings and reach even more prospective users. It's an impressive device both from a specification aspect and in use. However, while I love many of the aspects of the Find N5, there are still those small software niggles – touch sensitivity, peculiar Themes, double app stores – that don't quite echo the design's overall finesse. All in all, if the price hits right, Oppo is clearly onto a winner in the Find N5. It's a folding phone monster that packs plenty of muscle – impressive battery, power, the biggest screen and smallest crease going – into an almost impossibly thin body. Your move, Samsung, et al.

If Oppo offered a couple of extra years of software support, and guaranteed that users around the world have direct route to buying the Find N5, then it would be as perfect a foldable as we could have right now. But even without those two problems addressed, this is still a long way ahead of the current best foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Pixel 9 Pro Fold are going to have to undergo huge improvements if their next-gen versions want to compete. But the fact that they’re going to be sold in the U.S. and the Oppo isn’t will keep them as the best available foldables for a huge amount of possible customers. We had hoped that the OnePlus Open 2 would be along soon, borrowing large parts of the Find N5's design along the way, but OnePlus has confirmed it won't launch a foldable this year.

The wait for OPPO’s return to the foldables market is worth it, as the Find N5 is an engineering marvel by itself: aside from being insanely thin, OPPO was able to find a way to further reduce the crease in the inner display and give it better water resistance than the rest of the foldables that are available in the market. We’re not sure if OPPO will bring the Find N5 to the Philippines, but in Singapore it is priced at SGD 2500 or around Php 103k when converted, making it pricier when compared to the Galaxy Z Fold6.

I'm seriously impressed by the Oppo Find N5 – and it’s a game-changer for foldable phones. I am blown away by how remarkably thin and light it is, leaving phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Google Pixel phones looking outdated with their thick bodies. The size makes it pretty much indistinguishable from a regular smartphone when folded, this takes up no more room in my pocket than my usual bar-style phone, but then has that big 8in screen if and when I need it – I am tempted for the first time to actually swap my daily driver to a foldable. Can book-style foldables get any slimmer than this? I’m not sure they need to. The Oppo Find N5 is practically as svelte as a non-folding flagship, with only the smallest of internal compromises. Real-world performance is rapid, battery life is really rather great, and image quality is suitably top-tier on two of the three rear cameras. It also adds features missing from the last-gen model like wireless charging, and puts rival foldables in the shade with its water resistance. Software that lets you maximise multitasking on the inner screen is then the icing on the cake. Cutting back the ultrawide to minimise the camera bump and losing a CPU core to keep temperatures in check are minor slights overall.
