EN→ESAfter using the Galaxy Z TriFold for a couple of weeks, it became clear that this phone is for a very specific subset of people. And I'm not sure that includes me. I've enjoyed the novelty and versatility of the TriFold: It can easily double as a workstation or tablet for watching movies or multitasking. Still, it offers more than I'd realistically need from a phone. My usual tasks include scrolling through social media, texting and taking photos -- all things you don't need a 10-inch display for.

EN→ESI have no idea when or if I’ll get longer with the TriFold any time soon (and, trust me, I’ve asked). I hope I do, though, because despite those potential issues above, Samsung’s most innovative smartphone to date was one of the most exciting things I saw at CES this year. As always, I’d love to hear from you. Whether you’ve been lucky enough to hold the TriFold yourself, or if you’ve simply got a few things to say about this corner of the smartphone market, get involved in the comments below!

EN→ESThe Galaxy Z TriFold is a very impressive foldable phone that grows from 6.5 inches to a 10-inch tablet when unfolded. The huge display is a big plus when watching movies and playing games. But it’s the multitasking power that really won me over. Just keep in mind that you’ll be paying a pretty penny for this device, and it’s on the thick side when closed.

EN→ESAs of the time of writing, it isn’t clear when the Galaxy Z TriFold will make it to India, if at all. I hope it does, because I’ve tasted blood after playing with it briefly, and I can’t wait to try it out properly to see how it fares in day-to-day usage. It’s already available in Korea, and will come to regions like China, Taiwan, Singapore and the UAE soon, with the US also being one of the countries where it’ll make an official appearance.

EN→ESOverall, though, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold impresses with expert design and engineering, big-screen productivity, and a flagship-level cover screen, all at a still truly pocketable size. Let's just hope it's not widely expensive.

EN→ESThe Samsung Galaxy TriFold isn’t coming to Canada, but if Samsung releases one next year, and it comes to Canada, I’ll be very excited to try it out for longer than a brief hands-on session. I definitely want to live in a world where I travel to a tech conference with only my Galaxy TriFold and a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, a Stadia controller and use the TriFold to write articles, take pictures, scroll social media, play Marvel Snap and actual console titles with Game Pass Cloud, and watch Stranger Things.

This is not the world’s first foldable with two hinges. (Huawei beat everyone to the punch a year ago with the Mate XT Ultimate, which I reviewed last November.) But this is the first smartphone of its kind that truly matters outside of China. I’m MrMobile; I’ve carried foldables exclusively for the past five years; and I’ve just spent an hour with Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold ahead of its 2026 US release!

EN→ESThe Galaxy Z TriFold feels uncannily similar to the very first Galaxy Fold released back in 2019: a slightly crude device that's more of a proof of concept and a clear statement by Samsung that it is willing to populate this niche as well. It's a bit rough around the edges; the successor will hopefully improve the formula. Add the exorbitant price tag, and you get just that, a very niche device aimed at a tiny range of consumers. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the other hand, is a much more fleshed-out device that finally doesn't lag behind the competition. In fact, it's one of the nicer foldables you can get, especially so if great software is a priority.

EN→ESSamsung is a bit late to the foldable party, and it doesn't come dressed in its best clothes yet––the Galaxy Z TriFold is a very impressive foldable phone, but it's a bit crude and rough around the edges. The Huawei Mate XT was the first tri-foldable phone, and in many ways, it's a better device than the TriFold. In many others, it's not. Samsung's appetite will come with eating, and we have no doubt that the next Samsung triple-folding phone will be even better than this one. Which one should you get? At the moment, either one of these feels like a proof of concept rather than a device you should absolutely get. A regular book-style foldable is a more mature product, and still, a regular phone + a tablet still makes a lot of financial sense.
