With a starting price of Rs 31,999, the latest Poco F series device once again emerges as one of the best value for money smartphones you can buy this year. The solid and power-efficient Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, combined with the fluidity of HyperOS 2, makes this an easy recommendation for both casual gamers and normal users who just want a big battery phone. However, hardcore gamers can look towards alternatives like the Infinix GT 30 Pro (review), which is much cheaper and offers haptic triggers, or the iQOO Neo 10R (review), which has the same chipset sans the throttling issues.

The POCO F7 should suit most users just fine, offering strong value for money. Sure you don't get the Ultra's telephoto lens, but the camera tech is still decent, while you can once again get gaming on Wuthering Waves. However, unlike the POCO F7 Pro and Ultra, the regular model does get quite toasty with games. Battery life is sublime on all three, and in fact the vanilla phone is better with its upgraded capacity. That said, it's still the POCO F7 Ultra that offers the fastest charging and wireless support. You've got a gorgeous AMOLED screen with HDR10 and Dolby Vision support in all three smartphones, although the more expensive models boast a boost to the resolution.

Poco's back with a double punch—F7 Pro vs F7 Ultra! Both pack serious power for the price, but the Ultra brings a sleeker build and a brighter display, while the Pro keeps things a bit more budget-friendly. You’re looking at near-identical performance under the hood, but camera tuning and battery optimizations might sway your pick. So, which one gives more bang for your buck?

There’s many different mid-range models available to choose from at the moment, with many offering a good set of photo specs for the money. If you want something that offers a good array of features – not just camera wise – then the Poco F7 Pro is a good choice. The camera performs well too, but you also get a large bright screen, impressive battery life and even 8K video recording should you need it. Of course it’s not perfect. There’s no dedicated macro mode, low light shooting isn’t amazing, and there’s no telephoto lens. Still, for the price paid the results are pretty good. Probably the biggest downside here is the lack of availability in some big territories, such as the US – but if you’re in one of the places where this sells, it’s well worth a look.

At the price point where the Poco F7 Pro sits, there are definitely more balanced phones with cleaner, more intuitive software and better cameras. But you’re not likely to find one that’s as fast or powerful. And that has always been the beauty of the Poco flagships. It’s not one for those whose top priority is a good camera, but it is one for those who want a phone that can cope with absolutely anything, lasts a solid chunk of time on a full charge and then refills quickly when you need it full again. Personally, I’d take a slightly lower-powered phone with a more balanced feature set and cleaner, less bloaty software. But for the right person, this might just be the dream £500 phone.

Like last year's series, we feel this year's Poco F7 phones offer great value for money. This is especially true for users who are more specs-focused and on a tight budget. Poco F7 Pro's flagship-tier hardware, great performance, and long-lasting battery life are undeniably excellent for its price, but the phone isn't rated E for Everyone. If you’re looking for an all-around great experience, you might be somewhat annoyed with the amount of bloatware and ads the phone ships with. You can uninstall the bloatware and manually disable notifications for the first-party apps, but we would rather not have this problem at all.The phone is less suitable for people who take more photos than play mobile games. It lacks a dedicated telephoto lens, and the ultrawide camera doesn't meet our expectations.

The POCO F7 Pro doesn’t try to be everything for everyone, but what it does aim to do, it nails. Between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, vibrant 2K OLED display, massive 6000mAh battery, and impressively fast 90W charging, this phone punches far above its price tag in all the areas that count for power users. It’s not chasing camera awards, and it skips a few conveniences like wireless charging; however, that’s the tradeoff for delivering true flagship-grade performance at a mid-range price. Awarded to products with an average rating of 3.75 stars or higher, the AndroidGuys Smart Pick recognizes a balance of quality, performance, and value. It stands out in design, innovation, and user experience, delivering great functionality at a competitive price. For gamers, heavy multitaskers, and anyone who values speed and battery life over bells and whistles, this phone feels like a steal.

Xiaomi Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra are fantastic phones. Both of them push the limits and provide a flagship killer deal. The F7 Pro receives a bigger battery capacity and is offered at a desirable price. On the other hand, the F7 Ultra has faster charging, wireless charging, a powerful chipset, and overall great camera results. The rest of the specs are the same. If you could do without the extra bits of the Ultra model and like to save some money, then the F7 Pro would be a perfect choice. Nevertheless, if you want the full-fledged flagship experience, then the Poco F7 Ultra is a no-brainer. However, if you want to spend your money wisely, consider checking the Realme GT 7 Pro. It might be the best gaming phone in the flagship killer category. As always, the final decision is in your hands, so choose the phone according to your needs.

While it’s not officially available in North America, the POCO F7 Pro’s sub-$600 price gives it an edge over competing devices within the same price range, and its biggest highlights are no doubt its powerful chipset, impressive display, and capable battery. While its camera will be good for most everyday situations, shortcomings such as the modest low-light performance and limited front video recording are factors to consider; there’s also the rather bloated UI, although in-depth customization features somewhat make up for this. All in all though, the POCO F7 shines in the areas where it matters, especially for buyers after a flagship-grade handset that won’t burn a hole through their savings.

However, for £500 UK there's a lot to like here. I'm not a fan of that design, it's not my favourite, but many people think the Poco F7 Pro smartphone looks lovely. That AMOLED screen is a stunner and the stereo speakers are plenty powerful. Likewise, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 can handle Wuthering Waves, Genshin Impact and other memory-sucking games. The Poco F7 Pro's camera setup is limited, especially vs the Ultra or the Nothing Phone 3a duo. No telephoto zoom, just a basic ultra-wide shooter, that's it. All the same, this blower is one of the best mid-range phones for capturing photos of your family thanks to the nippy shutter speed. Nice.

This smartphone can truly be considered a flagship killer. It’s super powerful, features an excellent display with no flaws (in fact, it’s the same one found in a flagship that costs almost 50% more). There are no compromises in terms of build protection, the battery life is record-breaking for recent times, and the charging speed is on point. Where does the Poco F7 Pro fall short? The base model has insufficient memory, there’s no charger included in the box, and the cameras, while good, are somewhat limited for their price. Overall, the Poco F7 Pro stands strong in its right to be part of the Pocophone flagship killer lineup and deserves my recommendation.

Well, here we are. The final verdict. The Poco F7 Pro is a pretty decent phone. It carries over many good things from the Ultra model, such as the great screen and the decent main camera. But it also makes some sacrifices, featuring a year-old chipset and a pretty mediocre ultrawide camera. Oh, and there's no wireless charging on board. Then again, the phone comes with a 6,000 mAh battery and offers amazing battery life, and the overall aesthetics are also quite pleasing. At the end of the day, the price tag is the main drawback of this model. At 599 euros (just 100 down from the Ultra model), the sacrifices are too many to justify the cost. You can get a OnePlus 13R or wait for the upcoming Pixel 9a and probably get a better bang for your bucks.

The F7 Pro is just like the F6 Pro, only a year newer. That means it's staying true to the lineup's key principles and it's offering plenty of performance at a reasonable price and it's even doing really well in the imaging department. There are some aspects that rubbed us the wrong way. The selfies aren't exactly wow-material. There is no wireless charging, and the lack of eSIM support will limit its use to frequent travelers. And you have to get an extra charger to get the speediest possible charging (at least in the EU). Still, the Poco F7 Pro packs a potent Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip that's hard to find elsewhere at this price point, even more than a year after its release.

Perhaps I have been testing too many Xiaomi phones recently, but the Poco F7 Pro feels generic (dual-tone design aside). I miss the days when Poco phones were different, and not another Xiaomi phone (but with round icons instead of square ones). Thankfully, the Poco F7 Pro remains a “flagship killer” like previous models, especially at its retail price (S$669 for 256GB and S$729 for 512GB). You get good performance with some flagship niceties at an attractive price. But the battery stamina is the highlight here. Get it now from Shopee and Lazada. Those who order before April 9 can get S$30 off, and either the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro or the Redmi Buds 5 Pro as free gifts.

In conclusion, I'm happy to report that the POCO F7 Pro still deserves to be called a flagship killer, and it definitely delivers. Flagship-grade performance, a crisp high-refresh 2K display, great build quality and battery life, and even an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner! Samsung better wake up! Because Xiaomi and its POCO army are definitely stirring the pot. So, if you're looking for a device that excels in gaming, multimedia, and everyday performance without breaking the bank, the POCO F7 Pro might be the one for you.

The Poco F7 Pro is, once again, a flagship killer in the truest sense. It doesn’t try to do everything – but what it does, it nails… mostly. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offers ridiculous performance for the price, the 2K AMOLED screen is simply gorgeous, and battery life is top-tier. Add in 90W charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, and some smart AI features, and you’ve got one of the most well-rounded phones at this end of the market. Sure, the ultrawide camera is basic, there’s some bloatware to remove, and I would love to see a brighter display that you can actually use outdoors – but these are nitpicks in the face of what you’re getting overall. With such an aggressive price, I think that the F7 Pro is one of the best value buys of 2025. If you care more about everyday speed, battery, and visuals than bleeding-edge camera features, the Poco F7 Pro is the phone to beat. Just be sure that the more expensive Poco F7 Ultra wouldn’t suit you better.

I've only spent a weekend with this budget Poco camera phone, and I'm already in love. Xiaomi's Poco F7 Ultra is a flagship in disguise, and the camera quality has seriously shocked me. I'm mega impressed with how sharp it can capture a moving subject (like my dog mid-air flying after a tennis ball), and I think in this aspect it might even be better than the Samsung S25 Ultra, which I've recently tested. Despite this being an AI camera phone, it's very subtle. There's no overprocessing images with ultra HDR, but the shots do look very well exposed and sharp in every scene. I'm hoping to dive deeper into the Poco F7 Ultra's camera the more time I spend with it, but as far as first impressions go, this Poco knocked it out of the park for me.

Perhaps the title already gave it away, but Poco has rightfully earned that acclaim: Poco F7 Ultra is a clear flagship killer. It packs essential flagship components and works almost like one, but it only wants you to pay half of what it would have cost others. Our only caveat is that the Poco F7 Ultra is not for everyone (but that’s true for any phone). Many users prioritise different needs, like owning known phone brands or having great photography. In contrast, others might believe a phone’s worth lies in its uptime, performance, and day-to-day use. However, that’s exactly why the Poco F7 Ultra offers an interesting package. If you don’t care for brand names and don’t mind having decent but not mind-blowing photography, it’s hard to find another phone that covers it all for so little.

Short of its high-contrast approach, the Poco F7 Ultra punches above its weight. It's more than what we'd expect from budget flagship price points. It even has some bright spots for its capabilities, like the excellent daytime colourisation, detail retention, and even enough success in low-light conditions. The combination of its price and how it almost measures up to premium alternatives in certain scenarios forces us to entertain thoughts like buying two of such phones rather than one premium device. It's not going to replace what the Xiaomi 15 series of phones can muster, but it makes you reconsider what value could look like if your needs go beyond your own by getting the device in more hands.

Alright – should you buy the POCO F7 Ultra then? Well, I’d say this is a great phone for those who want the latest chipset with the best performance at the lowest price. I mean, seriously – it is priced at only RM2,999, making this the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite phone to date. You could also pick up the iQOO 13 at a lower price – but those lower-priced iQOO 13 are using China firmware and the warranty is up in the air. So, if you want a phone with local warranty with the Snapdragon 8 Elite at the lowest price, then the POCO F7 Ultra is your choice. Just that the battery life sucks and the cameras aren’t particularly consistent but hey – it’s still the lowest-priced phone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The Xiaomi Poco F7 Ultra achieves what it sets out to do by offering top-level performance at a price well south of most flagship models. There are other phones out there that achieve broadly similar results with greater refinement – especially in the camera and software departments – but for raw power on a lower budget, the Poco F7 Ultra gets the job done.

We've arrived at the tricky part. The verdict. The Poco F7 Ultra is no doubt a very capable phone and undeniably a proper flagship. It features one of the brightest screens in the industry, the latest and fastest Qualcomm processor, a flexible camera system, and blazing-fast charging. And even though the name Ultra might be a bit of a stretch, placed next to more expensive flagships, such as the Xiaomi 15 from the parent company, the Poco F7 Ultra holds its ground. The tricky part is that at 699 euros, there are a lot of choices out there, including popular and readily available models such as the Pixel 9 and the Galaxy S25. Granted, these are slightly more expensive, but people would probably add a couple of bucks and grab those rather than take a leap of faith and reach for the Poco F7 Ultra. On the other hand, if we look at the Poco as a more affordable alternative to the Xiaomi 15, then this model is a clear winner, scoring the same overall result (7.3) for 300 euros less.

POCO always knew how to make phones with great hardware, but its devices didn't have the best cameras. It's changing that with the F7 Ultra; the phone is an all-rounder that delivers the latest Qualcomm silicon, a sizable battery, vibrant OLED with 120Hz refresh, and IP68 ingress protection. But where it stands out against its predecessors is the cameras; POCO finally outfitted high-quality auxiliary lenses in addition to a great main camera, and the phone takes much better photos as a result. It still doesn't quite measure up to the best Chinese phones in this regard, but considering what you pay for the phone, the F7 Ultra is the ultimate value-focused flagship of 2025.

The POCO F7 Ultra is pretty impressive for its price. And it might just be the cheapest Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphone that you can buy right now. There’s really not much to dislike about the F7 Ultra. For me, my main complaint is the software. I’m not a big fan of HyperOS 2.0, however, that is very subjective. It’s a good software skin that is getting better with every update, it’s just not my cup of tea. I can’t help but think that if the POCO F7 Ultra were available in the US, it might put Samsung and Apple out of business. Because this phone is uber competitive with Samsung and Apple’s latest.

Poco has made an effort to make the F7 Ultra worthy of the name, and in relation to its own phones, it has succeeded. Developing its own GPU, ISP, and software management systems is a big step forward, and the ISP definitely impresses. The phone nails the desirable combination of power and ability, adding in good battery life and very fast charging for a phone ideally suited to demanding every day use. There’s real brand identity in the F7 Ultra, and it’s a far more interesting phone than the F6 Pro. It’s let down by the screen, which isn’t all that different to the one on the old Poco F6 Pro, and stops the phone truly competing with the current best smartphones like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the OnePlus 13.

As Poco F-series phones go, this one is Ultra alright. It brings a telephoto camera to the lineup and it's a standout performer not just among Pocos (which don't normally have telephotos at all), but among similarly priced competitors. Its cameraphone prowess isn't all-encompassing, like on a 'true flagship', but it's uniquely capable in its context, we think. You may have to learn to live with only a modest ultrawide, selfies are merely alright like on most other Xiaomis, there's no eSIM support (at least on our unit), and sourcing an adapter that can max out the F7 Ultra's charging speed could prove tricky. But these don't sound like dealbreaking offenses to us - maybe just the eSIM bit, and only to a certain crowd. Those aside, the F7 Ultra doesn't have any notable shortcomings. It's got a strong game on the fundamentals - the display is top-notch, charging speed potential is among the best in class, speakers are great, the chipset is plenty powerful. This one is looking like an easy recommendation from us

The Poco F7 Ultra marks a bold move for the brand as it enters the “Ultra” category. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with the dedicated Vision Boost D7 graphics chip, and featuring a vibrant 6.67-inch AMOLED display, the F7 Ultra handles demanding tasks with ease, whether you’re gaming or multitasking. It delivers solid performance while offering well-rounded features like a capable triple-camera system, a distinctive design, and 120W wired and 50W wireless fast charging capabilities. Ultimately, the Poco F7 Ultra is a premium mid-range device that brings impressive features to the table. It excels in gaming, display quality, and performance, while also delivering solid camera capabilities. While it does face stiff competition, it is clear that Poco is pushing its boundaries with this device, setting a new bar for itself and its fans. If you’re in the market for a powerful, well-rounded device that offers a solid performance-to-price ratio, the F7 Ultra is definitely worth considering.

Poco’s latest and greatest is certainly an interesting device – it offers flagship specs in many ways yet lags behind some of the top phones in some key areas. Yet Poco isn’t here to produce expensive top-end devices; that’s for Xiaomi to do and, as we said in our Xiaomi 15 Ultra review, what’s on offer there is exceptional. It’s always tempting to point of what’s missing rather than what’s here, but everything on offer from Poco has to be considered alongside the price point, which at $649/£650 is a complete bargain. As such, the Poco F7 Ultra hits a really sweet spot with premium powerhouse hardware for a modest cost.

For the most part, I loved my time using the POCO F7 Ultra. It delivers everything we’ve come to expect in a POCO device and then some, thanks to the SD 8 Elite processor it has on board. Is this an Ultra phone, though? I would say that in terms of performance, yes, it is. But, you’re still getting a few compromises to make sure that they can still maintain a fairly aggressive price tag on this phone. If you’re mostly in it for the raw power of a smartphone, I’d say put this on your shortlist if you’re picking out a smartphone this year.

To wrap it all up, the POCO F7 Ultra is a clear statement of what you can get when flagship performance meets aggressive pricing. With its flagship-tier performance thanks to Snapdragon 8 Elite, solid cameras, and added features like IP68 and 50W wireless charging, the F7 Ultra is packing serious value for money. The POCO F7 Ultra sets you back PHP 36,999 for the 12GB+256GB trim, while the 16GB+512GB version goes for PHP 39,999. The brand is also currently running early bird promos until April 3, 2025 - slashing its prices down to PHP 34,999 (12GB+256GB) and PHP 37,999 (16GB+512GB).

With the F7 Ultra coming in at a starting price of £650, as a phone with flagship specs, it beats the Pixel 9 which is priced the same currently on Google's store, it also beats the Galaxy S25 512GB which Samsung wants £959 for at the time of writing. The F7 Ultra is a better phone between these devices given its price and genuine flagship performance. I am sure that most people looking for a phone with the power and speed of a true flagship will not be too concerned about some highlight detail bneing lost in scenes when taking photos, but for those who spend a lot of time taking photos and videos, this will definitely be an issue and I do hope Xiaomi is listening to this feedback, as it will only enhance the potential customer base in the long run and finally we would see a true contender for ultimate flagship phone, without the crazy prices the big three brands out there are wanting these days.

The Poco F7 Ultra is a solid phone for its price point, packing notable processing power, wickedly fast charging and a premium overall feel -- features that help it stand out from similarly priced phones like the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE and the OnePlus 13R. There are slight compromises when it comes to display sharpness, general lag and some camera capabilities, but the pros heavily outweigh any cons. (And, speaking of weighing, I do wish this phone were a little lighter, but that's by no means a dealbreaker.) The Poco F7 Ultra marks a huge step for Xiaomi’s once budget brand, Poco. What makes it such a good phone is that it stays true to Poco’s roots – it’s fantastic value – and while the camera is excellent for Poco, it's just competitive in its class, though as a package, the F7 Ultra is one of the easiest phones to recommend right now. Gamers will love the price-to-performance of the Ultra. It feels premium, has a great screen, and packs double the starting storage of the Galaxy S25, plus more RAM, not to mention plenty of software value adds too, which help offset the, at times, busy HyperOS interface. It’s also excellent to see Poco take its camera so far forward by including a versatile telephoto camera.

In the end, I’m a bit torn with the Poco F7 Ultra. Yes, it’s Poco’s most powerful phone to date, and it has a strong spec sheet. But I don’t think it lives up to that promise of an ‘Ultra’ phone in the way Poco would like you to think. For one, its processor feels like it’s underclocked compared to other Snapdragon 8 Elite phones like the OnePlus 13 and Honor Magic 7 Pro. The 120W charging speeds don’t seem to refill the phone as quickly as it should, and the camera system is inconsistent, and not as strong as what you’d find in the more expensive ‘Ultra’ phones. That’s without mentioning the Wi-Fi connectivity issues I experienced during testing. Still, it delivers on the typical Poco benchmarks.

The Poco F7 Ultra is a powerhouse with that 8 Elite chipset, so gamers will enjoy a smooth frame rate at all times. Battery life is also excellent, even if the capacity isn't a match for the Redmi K80 Pro. With 120W fast charge on board, this phone powers back up in a crazy short time. As for the camera tech, well, the Poco F7 Ultra has made some sacrifices there vs proper 'Ultra' smartphones. The zoom lens isn't as capable, while you can't shoot 4K video with the selfie camera. ¿Otro "flagship killer"?

There are a few areas in which the Xiaomi Poco F7 feels dangerously close to the cheaper X7 Pro – the cameras are identical, the display is roughly the same and even that excellent performance is matched across the board. So why spend more on the Poco F7 over the Poco X7 Pro? Two main reasons, and they both boil down to longevity. First of all, there’s that fantastic battery life. The X7 Pro underperformed in our testing, while the F7 is an overachiever, offering truly stamina at a highly affordable price. Throw in superior software support and the Poco F7 just about manages to justify being more expensive than its similar sibling. As for the rest of the competition, the Pixel 9a remains the best all-round mid-range phone you can buy – but it is quite a bit more expensive than the Poco F7. If your main concerns are performance and stamina, you can get everything you need at a dirt-cheap price with the bargain Poco F7.

The POCO F7 supports 90W wired charging (Xiaomi's HyperCharge technology). When using a compatible adapter (unfortunately, purchased separately), the F7 charges very quickly. Xiaomi promises 80% in 30 minutes. A full cycle from 0 to 100% takes about 37 minutes with the screen off and maximum charging mode activated. The POCO F7 doesn't have wireless charging - this is one of the compromises the manufacturer made. However, there is a nice bonus: reverse wired charging with a capacity of 22.5 W is supported. That is, the POCO F7 can be used as a power bank and charge another smartphone or accessories from it. The POCO F7 can be recommended to those who are primarily looking for a fast platform, a large screen, and a high-capacity battery in a smartphone. In these parameters, it can really compete with more expensive models. However, if camera capabilities are important to you, this model has fairly basic shooting capabilities.

Like the iQOO Neo 10, the Poco F7 is literally a budget flagship with a premium mid-segment price tag. And like it, it comes with a striking design on top of some very powerful hardware. The combination of eye-catching design, large display, large battery, and close to flagship processor makes it one of the best (if not THE best) options for any person who wants a high-performance phone on a relatively tight budget. Those fanatical about camera performance might prefer the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro or be tempted to spend a little more and get the Vivo T4 Ultra, but those devices are far behind the Poco F7 in critical performance departments like processor and battery life.

The Poco F7 provides unusually speedy performance for a sub-£400 phone, not to mention excellent build quality and superb stamina. However, its software continues to underwhelm, and the camera doesn’t offer anything to get excited about. It’s a strong mid-range option for power users and gamers on a budget, but it has its limitations.

The Poco F7 is all about raw power. It is built like a tank, runs like a flagship, and lasts forever. Sure, the camera is not its strongest suit, but if gaming, performance, and battery are what matter to you, this one is a total no-brainer at Rs 31,999. Just three years back, if I had told you there is a phone priced at Rs 31,999 that packs a 7550mAh battery, is powerful enough to rival flagships, and comes wrapped in a rugged yet eye-catching design, would you have believed me? Probably not. But wait, by now, you must be wondering why I have listed all the key specs and haven’t even mentioned the camera once? Well, that pretty much sums up the story of our new favourite performance mid-ranger, the Poco F7. I have been using the successor to the Poco F6 for a week now, and I think it’s finally time to tell you everything about it. So here goes my review of the Poco F7.

The Poco F7 (2025) is a remarkable mid-range device. It delivers outstanding performance, beautiful visuals and long battery life. However, it’s not for everyone. The restrictive software will deter Android purists or power users who value flexibility. Also, the issues with camera zoom should keep any serious photography enthusiasts away.

After a really long time I came across a powerhouse smartphone that handles multitasking like a breeze, extensive gaming like its anything, casual photography with ease, features a massive battery and even comes with on-device AI tools. The POCO F7 to me is a power packed smartphone that really exceeded my expectations. The aspects where I felt that the POCO F7 didn’t meet my expectations was in audio and heating. POCO has indeed compromised on audio in order to deliver the rest of the things and it is quite noticeable. The heating issue is there but for the performance that it delivers, I think we will have to make peace with it. To be fair, I have used phones that get far more heated than the POCO F7 but it seems like my expectations with the “All chill. No sweat,” claim of POCO was slightly misplaced.

The POCO F7 is a terrific example of how to build a phone around strengths. It knows what it’s good at and doesn’t pretend to be other things. It leans in the direction of performance, display quality, and battery life and doesn’t position itself around some flagship-level camera or next-level software capabilities. Awarded to products with an average rating of 3.75 stars or higher, the AndroidGuys Smart Pick recognizes a balance of quality, performance, and value. It stands out in design, innovation, and user experience, delivering great functionality at a competitive price. If you’re the type who wants max horsepower under $400, this is one of the best values you’ll find in 2025. You get premium build quality, a flagship-worthy display, true gaming chops, and software support that rivals some of the best.

Ultimately, I’d argue that, given the price difference, especially with early bird pricing of £319, the Poco F7 presents a more compelling purchasing option than the F7 Pro. It’s cheaper, virtually matches the Pro for performance and speed, and has a bigger, longer-lasting battery. If you don’t care too much about camera quality, it’ll give you a great all-round experience. And it’ll cost you less. Considering what the big-name manufacturers charge for their mid-range phones – phones like the Google Pixel 9a, Samsung Galaxy A56 and iPhone 16E – they don’t seem quite as good value for money for anything other than maybe the cameras and software.

The POCO F7 is an impressive budget flagship that offers excellent performance and battery life, highlighted by a 7550mAh battery for exceptional endurance. Powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, it delivers near-flagship performance, particularly for gaming and multitasking. The 6.83-inch AMOLED display is vibrant, and the IP68 rating enhances durability. However, its camera system is a downside, featuring mediocre ultrawide and selfie cameras and lacking a telephoto lens. Priced around ₹31999, it competes well with higher-end models like the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE and OnePlus 13R. While it may not match the camera quality of its rivals, the POCO F7 is an excellent choice for power users and gamers on a budget.

The F7 launches into a hugely crowded market with lots of contenders under that all-important $400/£400 segment that classifies something as a budget phone rather than a mid-ranger. There are several reasons the Poco F7 is an absolute cracker. Battery capacity has to be chief among them (even if the real-world results currently underwhelm), alongside the 90W fast charge and supplied charger. Then there’s the excellent display that pushes the boundary of what you can expect from a phone at this price point. Finally, there’s the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform itself, which provides you with reliable everyday performance. On the negative side, the camera can’t offer the quality that a bit more cash can get you and others do better for not much more.

The F7 is an existential threat to the Redmi Note 14 Pro+; POCO somehow managed to deliver better performance, much better battery life, a bigger AMOLED panel with brighter colors, and longer software updates. This makes me question why Xiaomi even bothers with the Redmi Note series; sure, it takes better photos, but it is inferior in every other way, and the pricing just doesn't justify what you're getting. If you need a mid-range phone and don't mind average cameras, there really isn't a better choice than the F7 right now.

Look, the Poco F1 was an outlier. Very few phones have come to hold a cult status like that. Even fewer will get there, in the near and distant future, maybe. But that is okay. What matters is, if that legacy lives on, so people who want a phone like that – one that is both fast and furious without breaking the bank – can call upon a certain Poco – or iQOO, or OnePlus, what have you – and be rest assured, they have the option. Time changes everything. The same is true with smartphones in 2025. What was pure unbelievable excess in 2018 is what people expect, like clockwork, even take for granted, today. So, a phone brand must meet those requirements. Whether it can deliver on those expectations while keeping the legacy alive is the challenge.

The Poco F7 slots nicely in the F7 series lineup. It offers snappy and fast performance thanks to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, a gorgeous and very bright 6.83-inch screen, and a main camera that gets the job done. On the other hand, some corners have been cut to achieve the starting price of $399 ($339 with an early bird deal). There's no wireless charging on board, the ultrawide camera and overall video quality are lacking, and the battery life is unimpressive given the huge battery. At the end of the day, the Poco F7 will have to go against phones such as the Pixel 9a and Galaxy A56, as well as its own kin in the face of the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra. It's cheaper than all of the above and gets the basics right, so if you don't mind the aforementioned cons, you can get a lot out of this guy.

It performs on par with some of the most powerful flagships from last year, while delivering a stunning screen, massive battery, quick charging and a standout design. It’s only the camera system that falls slightly behind some of its similarly priced competition. That’s not to say the cameras are bad – they’re actually very capable – but without a dedicated telephoto, the system is less versatile than some of the competition.Of course, at this price, you can’t have everything, and Poco has clearly prioritised performance. However, unlike dedicated gaming handsets, the spec sheet is nicely balanced, and you don’t have to make many concessions elsewhere.

I was using Poco F7 for review for the last ten days, and I can say this is a mind-blowing phone if I skip the heating issue. This phone has a giant display, making to perfect for students to do online classes or watch movies. This phone also has a Qualcomm SM8735 Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (4 nm), offering daily performance. This is yet another quality Xiaomi mid-range smartphone boasting some of the best battery life of 2025. Gaming performance is respectable on the POCO F7 although the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 does heat up under a bit of pressure, when playing Wuthering Waves. Likewise, Xiaomi's HyperOS isn't for everyone and features like eSIM support are missing. However, for a budget-friendly mid-range price in the UK, Xiaomi's POCO F7 has a lot going for it. That AMOLED screen is a stunner and the design is an improvement on the Pro and Ultra, I reckon. Just go for the white rather than silver limited edition model if you hate fingerprints. The POCO F7's camera setup is limited, especially vs the Ultra or the Nothing Phone 3a duo. No telephoto zoom, just a basic ultra-wide shooter, that's it. All the same, you'll get good looking photos in most conditions, especially if you take your time and grab a couple of snaps just in case.
