Tras varios días trasladando todo mi trabajo a este portátil me queda claro que el Lenovo ThinkPad T14s suple cualquier necesidad de un periodista. Pero también de cualquiera que use programas de edición, navegue por Internet o incluso retoque fotografías y haga vídeos no exigentes. No es un portátil para jugar con los gráficos al máximo nivel, ni cuenta con una pantalla de resolución más alta del FullHD, pero me he podido echar unas partiditas a juegos casuales entre artículo y artículo. El procesador AMD Ryzen 7 Pro es más que suficiente para moverlo todo, y más aún si lo acompañan 16GB de memoria RAM. Todo ello sin que su ventilador bufe o el cuerpo de magnesio se recaliente. Es un portátil hecho para durar.

If only it came with a UHD display. Seriously, I get that there are some advantages to choosing Intel, and others to choosing AMD. In terms of what the platform offers, I think there are more advantages from AMD, although you do get Thunderbolt from Intel. What I don't care for is OEMs creating their own value propositions for Intel by only offering certain configurations with an Intel processor. It's not cool.

All that adds up to a laptop that may be competent across the board but fails to excel in any one particular area. Performance is excellent under sustained load but it’s not significantly better than the latest 11th gen Intel Core i7-powered Dell XPS 13 and battery life is weaker than its big rivals, too. For corporate types, however, it is better value than the business-grade HP Elite Dragonfly, and there’s a plethora of configurations to choose from too. If you’re in the market for any laptop for any purpose at around the £1,000 mark and above, then you’d be doing yourself a huge disservice not to put the M1 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops at the top of your list. They’re much better all-rounders than the ThinkPad T14s and better value too.

El hecho de que siga logrando un resultado muy bueno se debe principalmente a los excelentes dispositivos y equipos de entrada.

Price is often a deciding factor when buying pretty much anything in life. Laptops are no different, and right from the get-go, the ThinkPad T14s Gen 3 doesn’t start on good terms. Especially when you consider the fact, that perhaps most of this device’s users would be corporate employees, who have little to say. Unfortunately, the big thing that separates it from its non-“s” brother is the lack of memory upgradeability. Still, you can configure it with up to 32GB of RAM pre-purchase, and you get an M.2 PCIe x4 slot with Gen 4 support. When we see the feature list, we can understand the relatively high price. The machine sports a fingerprint reader, a 1080p Web camera with a privacy shutter, and an IR face recognition sensor. On top of that, the keyboard is spill-resistant, and there is optional WWAN connectivity. You can expect either a 4G, or 5G connection, but that depends on your WWAN card – Quectel EM05-G and Fibocom L860-GL-16 are CAT4 and CAT16 4G cards, while the Fibocom FM350-GL offers Sub-6 GHz 5G. Speaking of connections, the port selection of this machine is pretty good too – there are two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI connector, two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, and optional Smart Card readers. Unfortunately, there is no sign of an SD card reader, but you can’t get everything. So, if you don’t really care about the price tag, the ThinkPad T14s Gen 3 is a fantastic compact and feature-packed business notebook. We would definitely consider it for a workhorse enterprise unit.

Lenovo:
Lenovo ("Le" de leyenda inglesa, novo (latín) por nuevo) se fundó en 1984 como empresa china de comercio de ordenadores. En 2004 era el mayor fabricante de portátiles de China y, tras adquirir la división de PC de IBM en 2005, el cuarto del mundo. Además de ordenadores de sobremesa y portátiles, la empresa fabrica monitores, proyectores, servidores, etc., y está especializada en el desarrollo, fabricación y comercialización de electrónica de consumo, ordenadores personales, software, soluciones empresariales y servicios relacionados.
En 2016, la empresa ocupó el primer puesto mundial en ventas de ordenadores. Seguirá siéndolo en 2023, con cerca del 23% de cuota de mercado mundial. Las líneas de productos más importantes son Thinkpad, Legion e Ideapad.
En 2011, adquirió una participación mayoritaria en Medion AG, un fabricante europeo de hardware informático. En 2014 compró Motorola Mobility, lo que dio a Lenovo un impulso en el mercado de los smartphones.

Procesador de cuatro núcleos de baja potencia basado en Comet Lake (técnicamente idéntico a Whiskey Lake y aún producido en 14nm++). Los núcleos de CPU pueden registrar entre 1,6 y 4,2 GHz (los 4 núcleos 3,9 GHz máx.) con HyperThreading (8 threads). El controlador de memoria integrado es compatible con DDR4-2666 y con el uso de cTDP arriba/abajo, el OEM puede ajustar el rendimiento (10-25 Watts posible, 15W por defecto). En comparación con el i5-10510U más rápido, el caché de nivel 3 se redujo de 8 a 6 MB.
AMD Renoir (Ryzen 4000 APU):
R7 PRO 4750U: APU de Octa-Core móvil usando Zen 2 núcleos cronometrados a 1,7 a 4 GHz y una tarjeta gráfica Vega con 7 CUs cronometrados hasta 1600 MHz. La versión PRO de Renoir ofrece características adicionales de seguridad y gestión.
R5 PRO 4650U: APU móvil Hexa-Core usando seis núcleos Zen 2 cronometrados a 2,1 a 4 GHz y una tarjeta gráfica Vega con 6 CUs cronometrados hasta 1500 MHz. La versión PRO de Renoir ofrece características adicionales de seguridad y gestión.

i7-1365U: CPU móvil basada en Alder Lake con 2 núcleos de rendimiento y 8 núcleos eficientes. Los núcleos de rendimiento ofrecen hyper threading, lo que permite procesar 12 hilos. Los relojes de la CPU van de 1,3 a 5,2 GHz. El TDP está especificado en 15 vatios.
