Análisis del PC de sobremesa Minisforum EliteMini HM90 con la rápida APU AMD Ryzen

Hasta ahora, Minisforum no es conocido en este país. Sin embargo, el fabricante chino lleva bastante tiempo ofreciendo mini PC para uso de oficina. Con el EliteMini HX90, Minisforum tiene ahora un pequeño PC para juegos en su cartera. Sin embargo, el fabricante ha recibido muchas críticas por este producto.

El Minisforum EliteMini HM90 está pensado principalmente para el uso de oficina y multimedia. Sin embargo, según el sitio web del fabricante, también debería ser capaz de alcanzar velocidades de fotogramas jugables en títulos más o menos modernos. Ya hablaremos de esto más adelante. El AMD Ryzen 9 4900H está en el corazón del mini-PC y ofrece un nivel decente de rendimiento. En definitiva, el AMD Ryzen 9 4900H del EliteMini HM90 rinde bastante bien. El mini PC puede adquirirse como kit básico o preconfigurado con RAM y SSD. Actualmente, tendrás que desembolsar 419 euros por el sistema barebones. La configuración con 32 GB de RAM y un SSD de 512 GB, por otro lado, cuesta 659 euros. El sistema se envía directamente desde China de forma gratuita. Sin embargo, el impuesto de importación del 19% se aplica a cualquier importación en Alemania. Nuestro dispositivo de análisis tiene 16 GB de RAM y un SSD de 256 GB. El PC viene con Windows 10 Professional (el kit barebones no). Todo está contenido en una pequeña caja con las siguientes dismisiones: 149 x 55 x 149 (ancho x fondo) milímetros. Así, el Minisforum EliteMini HM90 es un poco más grande que el Cubi 5 M10 de MSI. Pero el Intel NUC 10 es un poco más compacto en términos de dimensiones

El Minisforum EliteMini HM90 se entrega en una caja resistente con todos los accesorios para poner en marcha el sistema. La fuente de alimentación USB-C, relativamente grande, se nota mucho. Además, en la caja hay dos placas adaptadoras para instalar dos SSD adicionales de 2,5 pulgadas en el EliteMini HM90. También está presente un soporte Vesa para montarlo en un monitor, es casi un estándar para este tipo de mini-PCs. Caja y conectividad

La carcasa está hecha de aluminio. Sin embargo, la parte superior y la inferior son de plástico. El Minisforum EliteMini HM90 no tiene problemas de rigidez. Sin embargo, para una mejor sensación, habría sido mejor si la parte superior también estuviera hecha de aluminio. Sin embargo, esto es sólo un punto de vista, porque no hay defectos visibles. La cubierta de plástico superior coincide con el cuerpo de aluminio en términos de color. Los colores blanco y plateado dominan, lo cual es bueno, porque el polvo no aparece inmediatamente en los colores claros. No es el caso de los colores oscuros

El dispositivo se puede abrir retirando la placa inferior. Cuatro pequeños tornillos unen la placa inferior a la carcasa. Se puede acceder fácilmente a la RAM, el SSD y el módulo Wi-Fi una vez que se retira la placa inferior. Es posible seguir desmontando, aunque el fabricante ha cubierto los cables de la antena del módulo Wi-Fi con una especie de pegamento que hay que quitar primero. Existe el riesgo de romper los cables, por lo que nos abstuvimos de hacerlo en este caso. Tampoco es necesario un mayor desmontaje, ya que según el fabricante, el refrigerador de la CPU no debe retirarse, ya que podría dañar la APU. Hay una nota en la caja que indica que se utilizó metal líquido y nos imaginamos que el disipador está pegado en su lugar

En cuanto a los puertos externos, el EliteMini HM90 ofrece muchas opciones para conectar dispositivos adicionales. Un total de cinco puertos USB-A son más que suficientes. Además, también hay un puerto Type-C en la parte frontal. Las pantallas externas se pueden conectar a través de DisplayPort o HDMI. Pero el puerto USB-C también ofrece la opción de salida de imagen con la ayuda de un adaptador adecuado. Así, puedes conectar hasta tres pantallas al Minisforum EliteMini HM90 simultáneamente.

Rendimiento - Muchas reservas

Como ya se ha mencionado, el mini foro EliteMini HM90 viene con un AMD Ryzen 9 4900Hque es una APU de portátil energéticamente eficiente que se puede refrigerar sin problemas. El rendimiento de los 8 núcleos es completamente suficiente en todos los aspectos para el uso diario de la oficina o multimedia. De hecho, la APU puede manejar tareas simples con gran facilidad. Sin embargo, como dice el refrán, más vale tener que necesitar, como todos sabemos. Los 16 GB de RAM DDR4 de doble canal se adaptan bien al sistema y proporcionan el mejor nivel de rendimiento. Se puede dividir sobre el SSD, pero 256 GB son suficientes para una construcción inicial. Gracias al sistema operativo preinstalado, el Minisforum EliteMini HM90 está listo para funcionar tras unos minutos de configuración y personalización.

Procesador

El AMD Ryzen 9 4900H pertenece a la serie Renoir y está basado en el Zen2. El SoC ofrece un total de 8 núcleos con 16 hilos, lo que es especialmente útil para las aplicaciones multihilo. En las pruebas de CPU, el Ryzen 9 4900H es capaz de superar a la mayoría de la competencia. El rendimiento de un solo núcleo está más o menos al mismo nivel que el del Intel Core i7-10710U que se encuentra en el Intel NUC 10. Nuestro modelo de pruebas también puede mantenerse sorprendentemente bien con el Zotac Magnus One en términos de rendimiento de la CPU, dado que el portátil de juegos compacto viene con una CPU de escritorio.

El AMD Ryzen 9 4900H tiene un TDP de 45 W. Sin embargo, el límite de potencia puede aumentarse hasta 54 vatios en la BIOS del Mini Forum EliteMini HM90. Dicho esto, no vimos ninguna mejora significativa en el rendimiento en nuestro análisis después de cambiar al límite de potencia más alto.

En el bucle multinúcleo de Cinebench R15, el Minisforum EliteMini HM90 logra manejar el AMD Ryzen 9 4900H muy bien y ofrecer un buen nivel de rendimiento. Con una puntuación media de 1880 puntos, nuestro dispositivo de pruebas rinde bastante bien. Comparado con la prueba única, el resultado es unos 100 puntos peor. En el caso delNUC Intel Ghost Canyon la diferencia de rendimiento es un poco mayor, con 130 puntos.

Rendimiento del sistema

El Minisforum EliteMini HM90 revela lo potente que es en los benchmarks sintéticos. Nuestro dispositivo de análisis supera fácilmente al Intel NUC 10 con el Intel Core i7-10710U. Comparado con el Intel Ghost Canyon NUC y el Zotac Magnus One nuestro dispositivo de análisis no lo hace tan bien. La razón es la falta de una tarjeta gráfica dedicada, por lo que el rendimiento es menor en las pruebas sintéticas. El Minisforum EliteMini HM90 no muestra picos de latencia bajo carga y durante la reproducción de vídeos 4K. Sin embargo, las latencias aumentan ligeramente después de iniciar el vídeo 4K. Almacenamiento masivo

Nuestro sistema de pruebas se desvía un poco de los sistemas preconfigurados de la página de la tienda del fabricante al tener un SSD NVMe de 256 GB. Si no pides un sistema barebones, siempre tendrás un SSD de 512 GB, que debería ser suficiente para la mayoría de usuarios ahora mismo. Nuestro modelo de 256 GB está bien para la mayoría de los escenarios de uso. En el análisis, nuestro modelo con el SSD de Kingston ofreció resultados decentes. En el Mini Forum EliteMini HM90 se pueden instalar hasta tres SSD. Puedes utilizar una unidad M.2 2280, que ya está instalada en nuestro sistema. También se pueden instalar dos unidades SSD de 2,5 pulgadas, que se atornillan a la placa inferior y se conectan directamente a la placa base con cables. Se incluyen todos los soportes, tornillos y cables.

Tarjeta gráfica

La unidad gráfica integrada del AMD Ryzen 9 4900H se conoce como AMD Radeon RX Vega 8. Las iGPUs de las APUs móviles Ryzen llevan ya unos cuantos años en el mercado, lo que también se refleja en el rendimiento. Mientras que las iGPU de AMD eran inicialmente muy competitivas con las de Intel, las GPU integradas de AMD son superadas por las actuales iGPU Intel Iris Xe que se encuentran en los últimos SoCs Tiger Lake. Por desgracia, Minisforum sólo puede utilizar el hardware que está disponible en el mercado. En cuanto al rendimiento de la GPU, el AMD Ryzen 9 4900H es lo mejor que se puede conseguir.

Minisforum utiliza un ventilador axial para la EliteMini HM90, que aspira el aire frío desde arriba y lo dirige hacia abajo, hacia el disipador de calor, para que el aire caliente pueda salir por los lados de la caja. El sistema funciona bien y no hubo caídas de rendimiento debido a las limitaciones térmicas en nuestra revisión. Cuando funcione en un escritorio, los usuarios deben tener cuidado de no colocar nada encima del dispositivo para que se pueda aspirar suficiente aire fresco. El fabricante afirma que utiliza metal líquido para refrigerar la CPU. Sin embargo, no pudimos comprobarlo porque desmontar el sistema puede dañar el SoC. A plena carga, las temperaturas de la CPU alcanzaron los 86.3 °C, aunque la iGPU fue ligeramente más fría con 74 °C. Esto significa que el SoC nunca se calienta demasiado. Si el SoC está bajo carga media, las temperaturas son aún más bajas. Bajo carga sostenida, el rendimiento se mantuvo estable. El resultado del benchmark 3DMark11 es casi idéntico al del arranque en frío y sólo varía en unos pocos puntos dentro de las tolerancias de medición.

Ruido del sistema

En un dispositivo de trabajo, no importa si es un portátil o un PC de sobremesa, esperamos un nivel de ruido bajo, porque no hay nada peor que un ruido de ventilador fuerte. Minisforum ha hecho un muy buen trabajo aquí. El único ventilador mide 75 milímetros y funciona a bajas revoluciones. Cuando está en reposo, el ventilador es inaudible a menos que pongas tu oído muy cerca de él. Aquí tenemos un nivel de presión sonora de 30,8 dB(A). Pero incluso a plena carga durante la prueba de estrés, no podemos percibir ningún ruido molesto. Con 32,5 dB(A), el Minisforum EliteMini HM90 es ahora un poco más ruidoso, pero sigue siendo un PC muy silencioso. La velocidad del ventilador se regula muy suavemente y no hay aullidos intermitentes debido a las altas velocidades

Consumo de energía

En términos de consumo de energía, el Minisforum EliteMini HM90 es bastante frugal, aunque Intel podría hacerlo un poco mejor con sus NUC. La conclusión es que el EliteMini HM90 con sus 8 núcleos ofrece un rendimiento significativamente mayor. En la prueba de estrés de la GPU, el Zotac Magus One y también el NUC Intel Ghost Canyon luchan con condiciones desiguales debido a la tarjeta gráfica dedicada, por lo que no debemos leer demasiado en esto. Sin embargo, sólo pudimos extraer un máximo de 85 vatios de nuestro sistema de pruebas, que la fuente de alimentación de 120 vatios, relativamente grande, puede manejar fácilmente. Como nuestra configuración no incluye una unidad de 2,5 pulgadas, aún hay suficiente espacio para maniobrar

El Minisforum EliteMini HM90 es un mini PC muy compacto que, por sus características, es más un todoterreno que un clásico PC de oficina. Con el AMD Ryzen 9 4900H, el pequeño PC ofrece un muy buen nivel de rendimiento en aplicaciones multihilo. Gracias a las ventajas de Zen2, el rendimiento mononúcleo también está a buen nivel y puede competir con los SoCs Intel Comet Lake-U. Nuestro dispositivo de pruebas tiene 16 GB de RAM y un SSD de 256 GB, y ofrece rendimiento más que suficiente para el uso ofimático diario. De hecho, el SoC apenas se utiliza en la mayoría de casos. Sin embargo, es bueno tener un sistema muy preparado para el futuro. Si se combina con una tarjeta gráfica dedicada, el Minisforum EliteMini HM90 funcionaría bastante bien como PC compacto para juegos. Por eso, la falta de un puerto Thunderbolt limita un poco su utilidad.

El Minisforum EliteMini HM90 es un todoterreno muy potente que puede manejar mucho más que simples tareas de oficina. El AMD Ryzen 9 4900H es aprovechado al máximo por el sistema.

Los que quieran utilizar el pequeño PC como caja de streaming en el salón se sorprenderán positivamente de lo silencioso que es. Además, el SoC asegura un alto nivel de rendimiento multimedia. Aunquesólo dispone de una iGPU, el Minisforum EliteMini HM90 puede utilizarse para jugar a algún que otro juego. Sin embargo, tendrás que aceptar algunos sacrificios en términos de resoluciones o ajustes visuales en los títulos más nuevos. Sin embargo, la APU AMD Ryzen maneja los juegos casuales con facilidad.

La combinación de colores de plata y blanco va a ser atractiva desde un punto de vista puramente estético. Minisforum no ofrece un color de carcasa alternativo para el EliteMini HM90. En general, no tenemos nada malo que decir sobre el aspecto del sistema. Debido a que no hay plástico negro brillante, el EliteMini HM90 no va a tener un montón de micro arañazos claramente visibles.
