Intel i7-10710U

El Intel Core i7-10710U es un potente SoC hexa-core para portátiles basados en la generación Comet Lake (CML-U) y fue anunciado en agosto de 2019. En comparación con los procesadores similares de Whiskey Lake (por ejemplo, Core i5-8665U), la única diferencia es la compatibilidad con velocidades de memoria más altas (DDR4-2666 frente a 2400) y dos núcleos adicionales en el modelo superior. Los núcleos del procesador tienen velocidades entre 1,1 y 4,7 GHz (los 6 núcleos 3,9 GHz máx.). Gracias a HyperThreading se pueden utilizar 12 threads. Gracias a los dos núcleos adicionales y a las altas velocidades, el rendimiento del procesador del i7-10710U es muy bueno para su clase. Debería superar la Whiskey Lake superior y también a los procesadores Ice Lake si las configuraciones de enfriamiento y TDP no son limitantes.

Sin embargo, la tarjeta gráfica integrada sigue siendo la misma que en las generaciones anteriores. Todavía debería llamarse Intel HD Graphics 620 y tiene velocidades de 300-1150 MHz en el i7. Además, el SoC integra un decodificador y codificador VP9 y H.265 y un controlador de memoria DDR4-2666 / LPDDR4x 2933 / LPDDR3-2133 de doble canal integrado.

El chip aun es producido en el proceso de 14 nm++ como Whiskey Lake. El TDP (PL1) se especifica en 15 Watts pero puede variar de 12,5 a 25 Watts del fabricante (cTDP up/down), lo que resulta en un rendimiento diferente (especialmente las duraciones de Turbo). Para proporcionar el rendimiento total, Intel propone un pico de potencia corto de 90 W (PL4) para el i7 y, por lo tanto, 8 W más que las CPU CML-U de cuatro núcleos y 19 W más que Whiskey Lake. Por lo tanto, algunas computadoras portátiles delgadas con CPU CML-U de 15 W no ofrecerán el i7, ya que no pueden proporcionar suficiente potencia y refrigeración para obtener el máximo rendimiento de los 6 núcleos.
