The Pixel 10 proves that you don’t need to splurge on the Pro model to get a flagship-level experience. Over a week of use, it impressed with a refined design, solid build quality, and thoughtful details like the satin-finish frame, glossy glass back, and a symmetrical camera bar that keeps it stable on flat surfaces. The 6.3in Actua OLED display is bright, sharp, and vibrant, with 120Hz smoothness and excellent outdoor visibility, while the dual speakers deliver surprisingly full, clear audio for everyday media. Performance is smooth and responsive thanks to the Tensor G5 chip and 12GB of RAM. Multitasking, AI features like Magic Cue, and Pro-level camera processing all run without hiccups.

The Pixel 10 vs Pixel 10 Pro matchup is closer than ever this year. With a telephoto camera, 3,000-nit display, and magnetic wireless charging, the base Pixel 10 no longer feels like the “budget compromise.” At $799, it delivers most of the flagship Pixel experience at a more approachable price. The Pixel 10 Pro still has the edge if you care about camera quality, RAM, and storage flexibility. Its larger sensors, sharper QHD+ display, and 42 MP selfie camera make it the more complete package — though it’ll cost you $200 more. For most users, the Pixel 10 will likely hit the sweet spot. But if you’re a creator, heavy multitasker, or someone who simply wants Google’s very best, the Pixel 10 Pro is the one to get. Stay tuned — we’ll be putting both anniversary Pixels through their paces soon, with in-depth results on cameras, battery life, performance, and displays.

With the Pixel 10 series, Google has, in some ways, brought the standard model closer to the level of the Pros than we’ve ever seen before. But in other ways, there are still quite a lot of differences between the Google Pixel 10 and its Pro-level siblings, and even between the Pixel 10 Pro and the Pixel 10 Pro XL. Below, you’ll find a rundown of the key ways in which these phones differ from one another.

This year’s Pixel launch isn’t flashy. It’s not meant to be. What Google has delivered is a thoughtful, refined, AI-focused update to one of the best value phone lineups out there. And crucially, it hasn’t tried to reinvent the wheel. I already love the Pixel series and there is no reason to do anything drastic. Will I use all the AI features? Probably not. But some of them might become daily staples when I do some proper testing. Reviews are coming soon, but as far as first impressions go, this one’s left me very curious and satisfied with the level of hardware quality. Especially those camera upgrades. Check back soon!

This year’s Pixel lineup is all about refinement over revolution, and for lots of folks, that’ll probably be just fine. As iPhone users who love our magnetic MagSafe accessories, we think the Pixel 10’s Pixelsnap feature is a welcome and long-overdue upgrade that finally brings Google fans the convenience of slapping a magnetic charger to the back of your phone. But magnets (and some better cameras and performance) aside, the most exciting things about the Pixel 10 lie in software features that’ll likely come to older Pixels down the line, such as the promising camera coaching tool that guides you toward taking better shots. The Pixel Watch 4 is the kind of smartwatch upgrade we like to see (we’re always going to welcome bigger, brighter screens) and should be an especially nice pickup for those with a Watch 2 or older.

In predictable Google style, it sticks with the same design philosophy as last year’s hardware shift, opting to focus more on the software side. Some appear very well-intentioned, like Camera Coach, whereas others, like Super Res Zoom, need proper testing to gauge output. The Pixel 10 starts at $799, while the Pixel 10 Pro is $999, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL is $1,199. All of these models will be available on August 27. The Pixel 10 Fold Pro will start at $1,799 and be available on October 8.

There’s a lot I already love about the Pixel 10, even from my short time checking out the hardware and all of its new features. I’m stoked that the price stays at $799, while the phone gains a telephoto camera, larger battery, and access to nearly the same set of AI features coming to the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL. Everything about the Pixel 10 appears to be a massive upgrade over the Pixel 9, so the only thing on my mind is what value does it offer over its siblings. On paper, I can clearly tell there are more differences than similarities with the hardware — like how the Pros have better camera sensors. On the flip side, I think the Pixel 10 serves as a warning to all other phones in this price point. They cannot afford to come up short, but Google raises the bar for what I expect from a $799-priced phone.

It sports a very similar design to its predecessor, the Pixel 9 — so much so that side-by-side, you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference. There aren’t a ton of differences on the inside either, with the Pixel 10 sporting subtle internal upgrades like a new Tensor G5 chip and support for MagSafe Pixelsnap, Google’s take on the magnetic Qi2 wireless charging standard. Most notable are the tweaks to the camera hardware, with the base-level Pixel now sporting a third camera with a telephoto lens for optical zoom. In classic Google fashion, the Pixel 10 line sports several new software features too, like the AI-powered Magic Cue that promises to surface relevant contextual information right where you need it, or the new Camera Coach that can help non-photographers get the most out of the Pixel’s powerful cameras. The Pixel 10 line also ships with Google’s improved Material Design Expressive, making the software feel new even if it’s still just Android 16, like what’s been on the older Pixels since June.

The Pixel 10 brings some features to Android that I’ve been hoping to see for years – especially the new Pixelsnap magnetic charging. With better accessories on the way and a new long zoom lens, the Pixel 10 is the most impressive upgrade among all the new Pixel phones, and it finally puts the Pixel line in a position to beat its Android and iPhone rivals, if it can deliver on its photography promise and AI features.

Always a difficult question this one. If you already own a Pixel phone, especially last year's Pixel 9 Pro, there's little to no reason to get the new Pixel 10 Pro. Yes, the Tensor G5 is faster, more efficient and can do some AI magic on-device, but we can bet our Christmas bonuses that most of these features will drip down older Pixels in the not-so-distant future. If you're looking to dip your toes into Google's ecosystem of devices and you want to buy your first Pixel phone, the Pixel 10 Pro is one of the best options on the market. You can get the XL variant if you need more screen estate or opt for the Fold if foldables are your thing, but the Pixel 10 Pro sits in the right spot when it comes to features per dollar spent. This hands-on will morph into a full-blown review soon, so be sure to check back for all the geeky stuff.

Google has two of the best Android phones I’ve used all year. I’ve been a fan of Pixel phones since the first one came out in 2016, and now, with its 10th generation, the Pixel has hit a new peak. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are easily two of the most well-rounded phones of 2025, with great cameras, battery life, and genuinely useful AI that average users can appreciate. We’ve tried the best that this year has to offer, from the Galaxy S25 Ultra to the OnePlus 13 and beyond. And by comparison, once again, Google has nailed virtually everything you could ask for from a smartphone. Are the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL perfect? No, but boy do they come close. Between the speedy performance, reliable software updates, excellent cameras (this time with 100x AI zoom), and the same gorgeous design, there’s very little to dislike about these phones.

Google is taking aim at Apple with the new Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL, with the new Pixelsnap feature that mimics MagSafe perfectly, and the promise of AI features that Apple has so far failed to deliver. I’m eager to put these phones through more testing to see how well they perform, but what I’ve been able to check out first hand convinces me that Google’s pulling ahead of the pack. The company has already established itself for having the best AI phones around, and the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL keeps on widening that gap. Samsung has done well to keep up with its Galaxy AI features, but I think it puts Apple Intelligence on notice because of the amount of new AI features present here with these Pixel 10 Pro devices. They add on to the existing set that Google has delivered, like Call Screen, Pixel Studio, Magic Editor, and much more. Hopefully other aspects of these phones are improved, namely the performance of the Tensor G5 and their battery life. One thing's certain: they make other phones look dumb.

OK, so what are the big upgrades here? A notably more powerful processor, and a truly impressive 100x zoom. Probably a couple of exclusive AI features, too. We'd suggest to hold off on the pre-order right now to see final results after all the benchmarks and reviews have been completed. And also, keep an eye on Android 16 updates for the Pixel 9 line. The Pixel 10 Pro XL is not that much different than the Pixel 9 Pro XL. And, if the latter gets the most features of Android 16 — you may be able to get away with purchasing (or keeping) the older model! That said, the Jade Pixel 10 Pro XL looks lovely...

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL (and the rest of the Pixel 10 series) represents the company's most intense focus on artificial intelligence features in any device yet. But if you're not excited about AI, don't worry, Google Pixel 10 (and the Pro models) are worth a look even if you deactivate and disable every bit of AI, top to bottom. While Google's promotion of these devices will inevitably focus on AI — that's hype, at the moment — really, the whole Pixel 10 series has excellent-enough hardware and software to match the devices' prices. In the photos in this review, you'll see that the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL and its two smaller relatives look a lot like one another. Set in a row, you'll see a difference in luster between the Pro and non-Pro, and you'll see a significant difference in the size of the display in the XL device. But they're all Google Pixel 10 devices — and they all offer the same sort of guarantee when it comes to longevity in both software* and hardware.

This year’s Pro XL Pixel doesn’t stray far from the formula set out by the last one – but still manages to improve on it in all the right places. Android 16 feels modern without alienating fans of the old look, Qi2 magnetic charging is a welcome (if overdue) addition that’ll tempt iPhone owners thinking of making the switch, and the Gemini upgrades are genuinely useful. Even AI skeptics will have to admit Camera Coach is an excellent showcase of the tech, and really puts the phone’s rear lens trio to good use. I do think Google’s algorithm-led photography lacks some of the emotive charm rival phones are able to capture in-camera now, but not everyone likes the analogue film look.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold takes durability on foldable phones to the next level with an IP68 rating against dust and water and a new gearless hinge. It also packs super bright displays, a faster Tensor G5 chip and impressive AI features like Magic Cue and Ask Photos. But while it's $200 less than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, it's not nearly as sleek.

For as much as I praised the Pixel 9 Pro Fold last year (I gave it a 5/5), I was a bit worried about the Pixel 10 Pro Fold leading up to today’s launch. You see, 12 months ago, Google created the ideal sizing for a foldable phone in the US when Samsung’s fold screens were too narrow. But this year, the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s bigger screens fixed Samsung’s biggest issue, and the phone got so much thinner. Google remains mostly the same. But there are other perks to talk about with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. It boasts a larger battery capacity, MagSafe-like Pixelsnap wireless charging, and numerous AI-enhanced features. Camera Coach helps you become a better photographer, Magic Cue pulls up important info across apps, and 100x AI Pro Res Zoom cleans up distant photos very nicely.

While not a reinvention, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold looks like a solid upgrade that offers potentially better performance, improved durability, Qi 2 charging, and Pixelsnap – Google's answer to Apple's MagSafe. However, without major camera upgrades or more visible design improvements, it looks like it's treading water compared to the stunningly thin and light Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, even if it handily beats its Samsung rival on affordability.
