EN→ESIf you are in the market for a tablet primarily for entertainment or for your kids who can attend online classes on it, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro is worth considering. It offers a large display with a smooth and vibrant viewing experience, good brightness levels, and reliable performance for everyday use. It works well for watching shows, playing casual games, attending online classes, and getting light work done on documents. That said, the audio quality from speakers is a bit underwhelming, and the accessories are a mixed bag and they add to the overall cost. If you are looking for a more premium tablet experience, you may want to explore higher-priced options, including Xiaomi’s Pad 7. However, at its starting price, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro delivers reliable performance, and gets most things right.

EN→ESThe Redmi Pad 2 Pro is not here to replace your laptop; even with all the accessories, it’s not quite there yet. Instead, it works best as a capable secondary device: a portable big-screen companion that’s always ready to get things done. Whether it’s media consumption, casual work, note-taking, online classes, light gaming, or simply taking advantage of long-term software support, the Pad 2 Pro fits comfortably into everyday use. The tablet feels dependable, smooth, and genuinely pleasant at that. This could be attributed to its Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, which delivers consistent performance. Moreover, the battery life is excellent, the speakers are among the best in the segment, and the tablet works surprisingly well with Xiaomi’s own accessories.

EN→ESI am often asked by readers who are looking for a tablet but are torn between a tablet and a laptop, and I completely agree with them. Tablets and laptops aren’t the same as they used to be, as the line between them has blurred. If I may say so, tablets are more like hybrid devices these days – they have retained their tablet DNA while increasingly becoming PCs in their own right. My experience with the Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 Pro reconfirms that tablets are on an evolutionary path, and maybe it’s time we start seeing them as more than just tablets, though they are still limited in both hardware and software. I spent weeks with the Redmi Pad 2 Pro, and here’s my review.

EN→ESThe Redmi Pad 2 Pro is a solid companion device, which does not try replacing your laptop outright, but over time, it quietly takes on many of the tasks you would normally reserve for one. The large, sharp display works well for reading and media, the performance remains steady during everyday multitasking, and the audio and battery life stand out in real-world use rather than just in specifications. There are a few trade-offs, such as slightly thicker bezels, screen reflections, and the added weight when using the keyboard, but none of them significantly affect the overall experience. What ultimately works in the tablet’s favour is how naturally it fits into both work and downtime.

EN→ESThe Redmi Pad 2 Pro is a high-value alternative to more expensive professional tablets. By offering a premium unibody metal construction and a massive 12.1-inch 2.5K display, it successfully mimics the look and feel of flagship devices like the iPad Pro at a fraction of the cost. While it lacks the AMOLED technology found in top-tier competitors, its 120Hz refresh rate and 600-nit brightness set it apart from other budget tablets.\

EN→ESFrom our initial hands-on experience, the REDMI Pad 2 Pro 5G comes across as a well-rounded tablet. Key features that we liked are its large 12,000 mAh battery and 12.1-inch display, fast Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 performance, and loud stereo speakers, making it equally appealing for students, professionals, and entertainment-focused users. The price for the REDMI Pad 2 Pro is ₹24,999 for the Wi-Fi variant with 8 GB RAM + 128 GB Storage, while the 5G model REDMI Pad 2 Pro 5G starts at 27,999. We will share more details of the tablet in our full review

EN→ESWithout the bank discounts and offers, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro will cost you Rs 24,999 for the Wi-Fi-only variant. The Wi-Fi + 5G variant with 128GB storage is priced at Rs 27,999, while the 256GB ROM option costs Rs 29,999. This makes the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G slightly pricier than its predecessor, which was introduced at a starting price of Rs 21,999. Xiaomi hasn’t officially explained the price increase, but industry trends offer some context. Component costs, particularly for RAM and storage, have been steadily rising, which has led to higher pricing for many end products across the market.

EN→ESWhile the Pad 2 Pro 5G’s under Php 20,000 price is great for a tablet with 5G connectivity, those who can do away with 5G can go for other offerings from Xiaomi: these include the Xiaomi Pad 7 and the very similar POCO Pad X1, both getting you a more powerful Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor and a better 11.2-inch 144hz display at the expense of cellular connectivity and a smaller battery. Other than that, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G fills in a segment in the Philippines: a tablet with 5G connectivity for under Php 20,000. It’s very rare to see such a configuration at that price point, and we’re happy that Xiaomi is making that possible.

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G enters the tablet race with serious ambition: a large 12.1-inch 2.5K display, a 120 Hz refresh rate, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, and a massive 12,000 mAh battery. Whether we need a tablet for streaming, productivity, or light gaming, this one aims to combine value and performance.

EN→ESSo, should you buy this Redmi Pad 2 Pro? Looking at the price, it starts at RM1,099 right now for the WiFi version but it’s at 128GB. I highly recommend to get at least 256GB, so the price will rise up to RM1,399. If you want the 5G version, then it’s at RM1,799. Yes, the price rises quite fast. I think the tablet itself is quite decent, though once again – we need a way to lower the game’s render resolution. Otherwise, games like Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, and Zenless Zone Zero will run quite terribly. If you want the accessories alongside, then they’re currently going for RM199 each right now if you get the PWP option. Otherwise, the keyboard will be at a staggering RM399. I think the stylus is worth it if you want to draw on this tablet.

EN→ESFor a price hovering between $350 and $400, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro punches way above its weight class. Xiaomi has managed to cut corners in places that most people won’t mind—like the cameras and the lack of a fingerprint sensor—while doubling down on the features that actually impact your daily use. If you are a student looking for a reliable note-taking machine, a gamer on a budget, or just someone who wants a big, beautiful screen for binge-watching shows on a long flight, this tablet is a fantastic choice. It offers a polished experience that feels reliable, fast, and impressively long-lasting. However, if you need professional-grade drawing tools or the absolute deepest blacks of an OLED screen, you might need to stretch your budget for a Samsung Tab S-series or an iPad. But for everyone else? It’s hard to find a better deal than this. At this price, it’s hard to ignore what Xiaomi has pulled off here—would you pick this one over the competition?

EN→ESThe Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G offers a compelling mix of large high-resolution display, nice build, strong battery life, and capable performance, all for PHP 19,999. For those of you who do not need a cellular data connection, there is a WiFi-only model in the same configuration that goes for PHP 17,599. While the cameras are average and the charger isn’t ultra-fast, the overall package is well balanced for streaming, productivity, reading, and light creative tasks. If you’re looking for a feature-rich tablet that won’t demand flagship pricing, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G is one of the top value picks in its class.

EN→ESThe Redmi Pad 2 Pro is easy to recommend if you are looking for a tablet on a budget. It has a large screen with Dolby Vision and four big loudspeakers with Dolby Atmos. Then there is the capable chip and a massive battery. And let's not forget the feature-rich Hyper OS 2, especially if you already have a Xiaomi phone. But also, we do appreciate the optional accessories. Xiaomi has always understood the need for additional tablet goodies, and we are glad that even this cheap tablet gets some cool options for accessorizing and expanding its feature set. So, if you are looking for a tablet for occasional browsing, streaming, gaming, social or messaging, or just to use for an additional office backup, or for all of these, and yet you are not ready to spend over €1,000, you have found an excellent alternative that has a good bang-for-buck ratio.

This 12-inch tablet certainly offers a spacious view for your movies, games or whatever, with the added bonus of that Matte Glass finish. This anti-glare design helps to limit reflections, so outdoor visibility is excellent - even if the Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G's panel isn't particularly bright. Likewise, the stereo speaker setup is a bit of a banger. Performance is somewhat of a mixed bag, however. You can play even quite intensive games like Wuthering Waves on the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G if you keep the visual settings low. Unfortunately, I did see some slowdown and borky behaviour in apps, while the online connection occasionally cacked up. Still, the Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 Pro is one of the best tablets for this budget price as we head into 2026. Battery life is excellent, the cover keyboard is decent and you can't complain with those specs at this cost.
