Kit Intel NUC 12 Pro - Wall Street Canyon en revisión: Mini PC avanzado con Intel Core i7-1260P para una gran versatilidad

Rápido y preparado para el futuro Las piezas móviles Alder Lake de 12ª generación de Intel han llegado a la serie NUC. El diseño híbrido formado por núcleos P y E es un éxito y proporciona un buen rendimiento. En este análisis, exploraremos las características incluidas y lo bien que rinde el mini PC.

Intel ha actualizado su serie de mini PC compactos NUC con los nuevos SoC Alder Lake-P. El nombre "Wall Street Canyon" designa la última serie de modelos basada en los modernos SoC. Hay dos configuraciones base, que se diferencian por sus dimensiones. El modelo ligeramente superior lleva la denominación "Tall", que indica la opción de una unidad adicional de 2,5 pulgadas. En cambio, nuestro dispositivo de prueba "Slim" no ofrece esta opción. En cuanto al precio, unos 100 dólares separan las dos variantes. Ambos dispositivos sólo están disponibles como barebone. Por tanto, los usuarios tendrán que instalar ellos mismos la RAM y el almacenamiento.

Para nuestras pruebas, instalamos dos módulos DDR4-3200 de 8-GB y un SSD de 512-GB en nuestra muestra de prueba. La última versión disponible de Windows 11 Professional en el momento de este análisis sirve de sistema operativo.

Caso

Visualmente, el Wall Street Canyon es obviamente un NUC de Intel. El diseño exterior del dispositivo es muy sutil y no hay superficies brillantes en ninguna parte del sistema. Aunque la parte inferior de la carcasa es de metal, que sirve como solución de refrigeración para el almacenamiento, una parte notable del NUC es de plástico. El dispositivo tiene un robusto marco metálico, que se ha convertido casi en un estándar en los NUC compactos de Intel y que proporciona al PC la rigidez necesaria. Con una altura de sólo 37 mm (~1,46 pulgadas), nuestra versión Slim es bastante pequeña. Además, el dispositivo no ocupa mucho espacio en un escritorio debido a su pequeño tamaño de 11,7 x 11,2 cm (~4,61 x 4,41 in). También se puede fijar a un monitor con el soporte VESA incluido.

Conectividad

El Intel NUC 12 Pro Kit ofrece todas las opciones más comunes en cuanto a la selección de puertos. Hay cuatro puertos USB de tipo A y dos de tipo C. Los puertos tipo-C soportan velocidades USB4. Las dos interfaces Thunderbolt también aumentan enormemente la flexibilidad del sistema. La amplia gama de accesorios disponibles es casi infinita. Por último, hay dos puertos HDMI y un puerto Ethernet 2,5G.

Comunicación

En el kit NUC 12 Pro, se utiliza el módulo Wi-Fi 6E AX211 de Intel para la red inalámbrica. Funciona bien en nuestras pruebas. Sin embargo, no alcanza las tasas de transferencia que esperábamos al enviar datos. El Morefine S600-Apex logra resultados significativamente mejores con el mismo módulo. Utilizamos nuestro router de referencia Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 para esta prueba.

Además del dispositivo en sí, el paquete incluye el adaptador de CA de 120 vatios y una placa para el montaje VESA.

Mantenimiento

Como todos los NUC compactos de Intel, el NUC 12 Pro Kit permite un mantenimiento rápido y sencillo a través de la parte inferior del dispositivo. La cubierta inferior se fija con cuatro pequeños tornillos y sirve de refrigerador para los SSD. Una vez en el interior, el acceso a las ranuras para la RAM y los SSD es muy sencillo.

Rendimiento - Core i7 con 12 núcleos

Los PCs compactos son cada vez más potentes, como se darán cuenta rápidamente los usuarios que trabajen con el kit Intel NUC 12 Pro. En el corazón del sistema, hay una CPU de 12 núcleos con 16 hilos, lo que convierte al sistema compacto en una excelente opción para tareas exigentes.

Condiciones de la prueba

Realizamos todas las pruebas de rendimiento utilizando el perfil de energía equilibrado. No modificamos los ajustes de rendimiento de la CPU y dejamos todo en automático en la configuración de la BIOS.

Procesador

Con elIntel Core i7-1260Pel kit Intel NUC 12 Pro incluye un SoC muy reciente. Gracias a sus 12 núcleos físicos y un total de 16 hilos, el Intel Core i7-1260p es una opción sólida incluso para usuarios exigentes. Tiene un TDP en ráfaga (PL2) de 64 vatios y un TDP continuo (PL1) de 40 vatios. En comparación con sus competidores, el Intel NUC 12 Pro Kit rinde muy bien. Entre sus competidores de PC compactos, sólo el Morefine S600-Apex es capaz de conseguir una puntuación global ligeramente mejor. Un déficit del 14 por ciento en comparación con un Intel Core i5-12600K sigue sin ser particularmente grande. Esto ilustra aún más lo bien que puede rendir este SoC móvil.

El Turbo máximo sólo está activo durante el primer bucle y el rendimiento disminuye significativamente durante la segunda ejecución. Las puntuaciones caen un 10 por ciento aproximadamente. No hay grandes fluctuaciones durante el resto de la prueba y la puntuación media total es de 1702 puntos.

Rendimiento del sistema

Por desgracia, el Intel NUC 12 Pro Kit no es capaz de transformar sin problemas sus buenas puntuaciones en los benchmarks de la CPU en buenas puntuaciones en los benchmarks sintéticos. Sin tener en cuenta el Intel Core i5-12600K, sólo queda en tercer lugar en PCMark 10. Por el contrario, Crossmark parece favorecer de nuevo a nuestro dispositivo de pruebas y restablece la antigua jerarquía de rendimiento. Del mismo modo, observamos tasas de transferencia superiores a la media en comparación con otros mini PC en las pruebas de RAM.

Nuestra muestra de prueba del kit Intel NUC 12 Pro admite hasta dos SSD M.2. Sin embargo, los usuarios tendrán que prestar atención al factor de forma. Mientras que la ranura primaria NVMe-M.2 sólo admite SSDs de 80mm, la ranura secundaria M.2 sólo acepta SSDs más cortos de 42mm.

Utilizamos un SSD Transcend y una RAM de nuestro stock de hardware. El rendimiento del SSD es sólido. Sin embargo, otros dispositivos de nuestra comparación están equipados con SSDs más rápidos. No hay que sobrevalorar la importancia de estos resultados, ya que los usuarios podrán instalar un SSD de su elección en el Intel NUC 12 Pro Kit barebone.
