Parpadeo de Pantalla / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Para atenuar el brillo de pantalla algunos portátiles están encendiendo y apagando la retroiluminación muy rápidamente. Esto se hace a una frecuencia que no debiera detectarse a simple vista. Si la frecuencia es demasiado lenta, la gente sensible podría experimentar problemas visuales, dolores de cabeza e incluso ver parpadeos.
Parpadeo de Pantalla / PWM detectado 20000 Hz ≤ 90 % de brillo

La retroiluminación del display parpadea a 20000 Hz (seguramente usa PWM - Pulse-Width Modulation) a un brillo del 90 % e inferior. Sobre este nivel de brillo no debería darse parpadeo / PWM.

La frecuencia de 20000 Hz es bastante alta, por lo que la mayoría de gente sensible al parpadeo no debería ver parpadeo o tener fatiga visual.

Comparación: 51 % de todos los dispositivos testados no usaron PWM para atenuar el display. Si se usó, medimos una media de 9367 (mínimo: 43 - máxmo: 142900) Hz.

Tiempos de respuesta del display

Los tiempos de respuesta del display muestran lo rápido que puede cambiar la pantalla de un color al siguiente. Tiempos lentos de respuesta pueden llevar a imágenes persistentes alrededor de objetos en movimiento o a displays borrosos. Particularmente los aficionados a los juegos 3D frenéticos deberían usar una pantalla con tiempos de respuesta rápidos.

El portátil de gama de entrada de Acer tiene un precio de £799.99. A cambio, obtienes un portátil de 15.6 pulgadas con un potente procesador Kaby Lake de cuatro núcleos y una gráfica GeForce GTX 1050. El hardware permite ejecutar los títulos más recientes con fluidez en alta resolución y ajustes medios. En algunos (pocos) casos es necesario reducir la resolución o la calidad. El dispositivo se mantiene silencioso en reposo y no se calienta demasiado. Incluso bajo carga, las emisiones se mantienen en un nivel bajo.

El Aspire no tiene ningún defecto grave. Por £800, obtienes un dispositivo de gama de entrada bien equipado, una buena introducción al mundo de portátiles para juegos.

Una unidad de estado solido asegura un sistema rápido. El dispositivo proporciona un espacio de almacenamiento extra necesario para un portátil de juegos gracias a un disco duro de 2.5 pulgadas. Ambas unidades son reemplazables, lo que implicaría extraer la cubierta inferior completamente - operación no demasiado complicada. La pantalla IPS mate tiene buenos ángulos de visualización y un buen contraste. El brillo de la pantalla es bueno, pero podría ser mejor.

La unidad alemana vino sin sistema operativo Windows preinstalado. Una forma barata de obtener una licencia de Windows 10 es a traves de Windows 7/8.1. Si instalas una de las versiones anteriores de Windows con una licencia usada (de £5 a £10), puedes obtener una actualización gratuita a Windows 10 con la ayuda de la herramienta Microsoft Media Creation.
