Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro+

EN→ESOverall, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G is not an ideal gaming device for its price. While it delivers great performance in Mobile Legends and Wild Rift, it starts to struggle when running more demanding titles. If you’re a fan of the REDMI Note series and consider yourself a casual gamer, this device should be good enough. However, if you’re looking for a smartphone mainly for gaming, other options on the market offer better performance at a more affordable price.

EN→ESWhat speaks in Xiaomi’s favour is the promised durability and longer battery life, even if the camera and performance mean a slight compromise. This may be a trade-off that many are willing to make if they can be patient with Xiaomi’s sometimes demanding software. The likes of Google and Samsung offer better all-around experience,s but the Redmi Note 15+ offers better value for money.

EN→ESThe Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is, for the most part, a by-the-numbers incremental upgrade; littered with small improvements across the majority of its feature set, when compared to its predecessor. The global model's reworked camera system makes for a more seamless shooting experience than its Chinese counterpart, but is ultimately still best suited to social media; despite the odd neat trick. If you like to get creative with your photography, there are few phones at this price point with as robust a set of native editing tools to play with, though.

The REDMI Note 15 series includes a flagship model (REDMI Note 15 Pro Plus 5G) that features REDMI Titan Durability, a hardware structure that is designed to withstand drops, water and dusts. To test this, I put the phone through a series of torture tests. But before that, I also filmed a vlog showing off the phone's tremendous battery life (6500 mAh battery) and capable 200-megapixel main camera.

As someone who travels and is outdoors a lot, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not gentle with my phones. They live in my pockets, my bags, my hands; they get dropped, they get wet and they get dusty. So when REDMI asked me to test something they call REDMI Titan Durability, I figured the only fair way to do it was to put the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G to the ultimate durability test.

EN→ESOverall, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is a decent mid-range option. Except for some slight tweaks, it's pretty much the same phone as its predecessor. The biggest improvement is in battery life, which counts for something. But it still offers middling performance. It's also disappointing that it launched with the older HyperOS 2.0 (and without a proper AOD). It doesn't help that my 12GB+512GB review unit is priced at S$599, up from S$569 for last year's model.

EN→ESFor its price, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G is priced at PHP 27,999 SRP for its 12GB + 512GB storage. Overall, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G offers a good display, decent camera, and an ample battery with fast charging, making it solid for daily use and media. While the phone can feel slippery and low-light camera shots aren’t always perfect, its performance and long battery life keep it reliable for most users.

EN→ESDespite looking similar to its predecessor, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ gives better value for money with its significantly larger (and more power-efficient) battery and a new 200-megapixel main camera that has a more usable digital zoom that can make up for the lack of a dedicated telephoto camera.

EN→ESOverall, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is a great phone, but you do have to consider that there will be newer models coming out later this year. Unless you really need a new mid-range smartphone right now, we don’t see the necessity in getting it. Should you need to buy one for yourself this January, though you definitely won’t be let down by the Note 15 Pro+ in terms of performance, ruggedness, or even the beautiful display. Sure, you might be annoyed by the pop-up ads and the bloatware, but hopefully, that can be mitigated once HyperOS 3 comes to this phone.

EN→ESThe Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus was announced on December 18, 2025, and released a week later, and it clearly aims to push the limits of the upper mid-range segment. The phone feels premium in hand with its glass front protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and a choice of fiber-reinforced plastic or eco-leather back. It is also extremely tough, offering IP68/IP69K water and dust resistance, high-pressure water protection, and drop resistance up to 2.5m. The large 6.83-inch AMOLED display is one of its biggest highlights, delivering a sharp 1280 × 2772 resolution, around 447 ppi, and an impressive 3200 nits peak brightness.

EN→ESThe Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G is not trying to win on spec-sheet theatrics or short-term excitement, but then again, Xiaomi never really pushes that angle. Its appeal comes from a much quieter place, one that focuses on endurance, resilience, and predictability over time. In a midrange market increasingly filled with devices chasing flagship-adjacent performance or camera bragging rights, Xiaomi took a different route here, and that decision defines the phone for better and for worse. What stands out most is how cohesive the overall experience feels once you understand its priorities. The extreme durability ratings are not just marketing flourishes. They meaningfully change how the phone fits into daily life, especially for people who work outdoors, travel frequently, or simply want a device that does not demand constant caution.

EN→ESThe Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus impresses in the test with its high-quality workmanship and excellent feel. The built-in hardware also makes a good impression during testing. The display is razor-sharp, and the camera and battery life are well-suited for everyday use. As usual with Xiaomi, I see weaknesses in the software. Late updates and excessive advertising in the system tarnish the smartphone’s otherwise good impression.

EN→ESIn isolation, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is more than a decent all-rounder with dependable battery life, quick charging, excellent display and durable design. The camera system leaves more to be desired, but we can't expect too much from a midranger. However, if you factor in the pricing, the phone's prospects look bleak. At its launch price, the new Pro+ faces rivals, many of which are superior (even ones by Xiaomi itself). And in this context, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ doesn't stand out at all. Still, judging by the price movements of the previous Redmi Note 14 Pro+, we expect the newer 15 Pro+ to become much more competitive with time. Despite the upgrades it brings, we would expect it to become competitive only once it dips below the €400 mark.

EN→ESTaken in isolation, the Note 15 Pro+ hits all the right notes for phone that straddles the affordable/mid-range price points. The revised styling and new generation processor help it largely keep pace with rivals, and the 200MP lead camera remains rather capable indeed. It’s not like Redmi has taken a giant leap forward from the Note 14 Pro+, though. The refreshed silicon isn’t dramatically faster or more power efficient than the outgoing phone, and while the battery is bigger, it’s not as big a jump as I was expecting given rivals are already pushing 7000mAh or higher. We’ve merely had baby steps for multiple generations now, which are hard to get excited about. It’s high time Redmi steps up its software game – then maybe next year’s offering will be something to set pulses racing.

EN→ESFurthermore, I can’t help but feel like the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G’s battery is a lot less efficient than it should be. The unit is backed by a 6500mAh (typ) battery that, even with fairly standard usage, only holds a charge for less than a day. Users can switch fairly easily to the Battery Saver or Ultra Battery Saver modes to really extend the phone’s life, but I was genuinely depressed when it seemed like this brand-new device had the same battery capacity as my five-year-old Note 20. But aside from some minor inconveniences, I was seriously impressed with the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G and would recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to the big three mobile brands. At $499 USD (roughly $700 CAD) its a genuinely solid phone for a reasonably affordable price. Its serious power, impressive camera and solid functionality make it a worthwhile pocket companion. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G smartphone combines peak performance with a sleek design for a seriously impressive mobile device.
