Ha habido muchas filtraciones sobre la serie Galaxy Tab S7 en los últimos meses, pero pocas han sido tan exhaustivas como la presentada por Roland Quandt de WinFuture. Aparentemente lanzada el 5 de agosto después de que una supuesta fecha de lanzamiento del 22 de julio no se cumpliera, la serie Tab S7 vendrá en dos tamaños llamados Tab S7 y Tab S7 Plus o Tab S7+. Estos dispositivos serán los tablets premium de Samsung para el 2020 y sus tamaños de pantalla de 11 y 12,4 pulgadas reflejan que serán competidores directos de la última generación de iPad Pros.
Como han sugerido las filtraciones anteriores, los Tab S7 y Tab S7 Plus se distinguirán por sus pantallas y la capacidad de sus baterías. Mientras que un panel AMOLED adornará el Tab S7 Plus, Samsung equipará el Tab S7 con un panel TFT LTPS. Ambos soportarán frecuencias de refresco de 120 Hz, pero el panel TFT LTPS obtendrá 80 nits más de brillo con hasta 500 nits. Este último tendrá una resolución de 2.560 x 1.600 píxeles y una densidad de píxeles de 274 PPI también, que son valores ligeramente inferiores a los de la pantalla de la Tab S7 Plus. Según Quandt, la Pestaña S7 Plus funcionará a 2.800 x 1.752 píxeles y una densidad de píxeles de 287 PPI.
The decision to include an AMOLED panel in the Tab S7 Plus and an LTPS TFT one in the regular model has implications for the position of their fingerprint sensors, too. Quandt states that the former will have an in-display fingerprint scanner as many modern smartphones do, while the Tab S7 will have a side-mounted sensor instead.
Both tablets will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC, along with 6 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. There will also be a choice between 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, albeit the higher storage capacity will be limited to 5G models. Every Tab S7 series device will have a microSD card reader, though.
Likewise, the Tab S7 and Tab S7 Plus will have the same dual rear-facing cameras and an 8 MP front-facing sensor. Samsung will bundle an S Pen in the boxes of both tablets too, while both will be available in Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze and Mystic Silver. However, the Tab S7 will have a 7,040 mAh battery, which is significantly smaller than the 10,090 mAh cell inside the Tab S7 Plus.
Pricing and availability remain unknown at this stage, though. Presumably, the Tab S7 will be cheaper than the Tab S7 Plus. We would expect Samsung to release all SKUs in multiple markets, too.
