Análisis del portátil HP Omen 16: Una buena elección para jugadores incluso con Zen 4

Un paquete global de éxito. La serie Omen de HP lleva ya unos años en el mercado. El fabricante combina hardware AMD y Nvidia en el actual modelo xf0376ng de 16 pulgadas. Puedes averiguar si esta mezcla armoniza bien en nuestro análisis.

El Omen 16-xf0376ng está disponible actualmente por algo menos de 1.900 euros (~2026 dólares). Por este precio, los compradores se llevan un procesador Zen 4 puntero de AMD: El Ryzen 7 7840HS no solo ofrece mucho rendimiento de CPU, sino que con la Radeon 780M también tiene una iGPU bastante rápida. Sin embargo, de los cálculos gráficos exigentes se encarga una GeForce RTX 4070 de Nvidia. El acelerador Ada-Lovelace está más en la gama media alta que en la gama alta debido a la escasa memoria de vídeo (sólo 8 GB GDDR6). El SSD M.2 también podría ser mayor a la vista de la capacidad de sólo 512 GB. Sin embargo, 16 GB de RAM DDR5-5600 siguen siendo apropiados para un portátil de juego de 2023. La pantalla es un panel mate de 16.1 pulgadas basado en IPS con 1.920 x 1.080 pixels y 165 Hz.

Ambos modelos pueden cubrir casi el 100% del espacio de color sRGB y alrededor del 70% del espacio de color AdobeRGB y DCI-P3, respectivamente, aunque algunos competidores (MSI, Gigabyte) sacan mejor nota aquí. El tiempo de respuesta tampoco está mal y debería satisfacer la mayoría de exigencias.

La iluminación (91%) y el valor de negro (0,35 cd/m²) son completamente iguales, pero la edición AMD tiene un contraste ligeramente mejor (1000:1 frente a 888:1) debido al brillo ligeramente superior (338 en lugar de 296 cd/m² de media). Sin embargo, ambos dispositivos no pueden alcanzar a la competencia. Por encima de todo, el panel OLED del Aero 16 se impone en muchas disciplinas si puedes aceptar una superficie brillante y el parpadeo de la pantalla.

Pero volvamos al Omen 16: Los ángulos de visión son buenos, como es típico de los IPS, por lo que la imagen se mantiene bastante estable incluso desde una posición inclinada. Por cierto, si necesitas los colores más precisos posibles, deberías realizar una calibración o descargar y usar el archivo ICC que enlazamos junto al gráfico de iluminación (suponiendo que sea el mismo panel Full HD).

Tiempos de respuesta del display

Los tiempos de respuesta del display muestran lo rápido que puede cambiar la pantalla de un color al siguiente. Tiempos lentos de respuesta pueden llevar a imágenes persistentes alrededor de objetos en movimiento o a displays borrosos. Particularmente los aficionados a los juegos 3D frenéticos deberían usar una pantalla con tiempos de respuesta rápidos.

La pantalla mostró tiempos de respuesta muy rápidos en nuestros tests y debería ser adecuada para juegos frenéticos.

La pantalla mostró buenos tiempos de respuesta en nuestros tests pero podría ser demasiado lenta para los jugones competitivos.
En comparación, todos los dispositivos de prueba van de ##min### (mínimo) a 636 (máximo) ms. » 21 % de todos los dispositivos son mejores.
Esto quiere decir que el tiempo de respuesta medido es mejor que la media (33.7 ms) de todos los dispositivos testados.

Parpadeo de Pantalla / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Para atenuar el brillo de pantalla algunos portátiles están encendiendo y apagando la retroiluminación muy rápidamente. Esto se hace a una frecuencia que no debiera detectarse a simple vista. Si la frecuencia es demasiado lenta, la gente sensible podría experimentar problemas visuales, dolores de cabeza e incluso ver parpadeos.

Comparación: 53 % de todos los dispositivos testados no usaron PWM para atenuar el display. Si se usó, medimos una media de 17903 (mínimo: 5 - máxmo: 3846000) Hz.

Potencia

La Omen 16 está disponible en un gran número de configuraciones diferentes. La paleta va desde la GeForce RTX 4050 hasta la GeForce RTX 4080. Como ya se ha mencionado, HP usa modelos actuales de CPU de AMD e Intel. Nuestro modelo de pruebas se sitúa en el medio campo (superior) en términos de precio y rendimiento.

Condiciones de la prueba

Como corresponde a un portátil para juegos, el fabricante incluye un amplio software de sistema y ajuste en el ordenador. En el Omen Gaming Hub se pueden ajustar, entre otras cosas, la retroiluminación del teclado, la conmutación gráfica (híbrida o separada) y el perfil de rendimiento (ver capturas). Dado que el nivel de ruido al usar el modo de rendimiento no guarda proporción con el (ligeramente) mejor rendimiento 3D y el dispositivo ya está bastante presente en modo inactivo, realizamos todas las mediciones en modo "Equilibrado". También existe el modo "Eco", pero es muy similar a la configuración probada en términos de rendimiento y emisiones.

Procesador

El Ryzen 7 7840HS procede de la generación Phoenix de AMD y tiene 16 MB de caché L3, un reloj máximo de 5,1 GHz y 8 núcleos, que pueden manejar hasta 16 hilos en paralelo gracias a SMT. El modelo de 4 nm se sitúa en el centro del campo de pruebas entre el Ryzen 7 7735HS del Acer Nitro 16 (aún basado en Zen 3+) y el Ryzen 7 7745HX del Lenovo Legion Pro 5. Ordenador con Core i7-13700H(X) suelen ser un poco más rápidos. Lo mismo se aplica al Core i9-13900H del Gigabyte Aero 16. Por encima de todo, tenemos que alabar el rendimiento constante. En nuestro bucle Cinebench, el Ryzen 7 7840HS también ofreció valores muy similares a largo plazo.

Almacenamiento masivo

El SSD es bastante poco espectacular. El modelo instalado de 512 GB de WDC logra tasas más que sólidas y, aparte de fluctuaciones menores (compare el bucle DiskSpd), también un rendimiento estable a largo plazo, pero el Omen 16 no puede competir del todo con los SSD de la competencia en el punto de referencia AS SSD, una diferencia de rendimiento que rara vez se nota en el uso diario.

Mientras que el Omen 16 alcanza unos muy altos ~55 dB(A) cuando se juega en modo rendimiento, el desarrollo de ruido se mantiene dentro de los límites en modo equilibrado. 44 dB(A) no es en absoluto silencioso, pero aceptable a la vista del rendimiento dado. Temperatura

El portátil se calienta en situaciones de estrés, especialmente la parte inferior del chasis. Un máximo de 57 °C tras una hora de FurMark & Prime95 habla en contra de las sesiones de juego en el regazo. La parte superior también se calienta bastante con un máximo de 49 °C, pero dado que la zona del reposamanos siempre se mantiene por debajo de los 40 °C, este valor sigue siendo medianamente aceptable. No tienes que temer una muerte por calor de los componentes. El Ryzen 7 7840HS se ralentiza a 3.3 GHz tras una carga completa prolongada, pero unos 82 °C son aceptables. La situación es comparable para la GeForce RTX 4070 con algo menos de 78 °C. Una frecuencia de núcleo de unos 1700 MHz no da motivos de crítica.

El Omen 16 ofrece un buen rendimiento con elRyzen 7 7840HS.

El 16 pulgadas no comete errores clamorosos y se lleva al menos un "Satisfactorio" en casi todas las categorías.

Es incluso lo bastante bueno para un "Bueno" o "Muy Bueno" en la mayoría de categorías, por lo que acabamos con una respetable valoración general del 87% - como la versión Intel.
