Intel Z530

El Intel Atom Z530 es un procesador energéticamente eficiente para netbooks / MID de un nucleo. Comparado con el Atom N270, el Z530 soporta virtualización por Hardware y tiene los Estados de Reposo y las funciones de Intercambio Basadas en la Demanda (Idle States y Demand Based Switching Functions).

El nucleo Atom se diseño para un consumo bajo y una producción barata. Lo malo es el relativamente bajo rendimiento por vatio (debido a la ejecución in-order) comparado con procesadores Celeron a velocidad similar. Aunque la tecnologia Hyperthreading (el sistema operativo ve la CPU como una CPU de doble nucleo) minimiza un poco la penalización de la ejecución in-order.

El rendimiento del Z530 solo es comparable a un Celeron a 1.2 GHz y por tanto solo es suficiente para aplicaciones no exigentes como Office o navegación web. Videos en HD, edición avanzada de fotografiaso edicion de video podrían no funcionar de forma fluida.
