Parpadeo de Pantalla / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Para atenuar el brillo de pantalla algunos portátiles están encendiendo y apagando la retroiluminación muy rápidamente. Esto se hace a una frecuencia que no debiera detectarse a simple vista. Si la frecuencia es demasiado lenta, la gente sensible podría experimentar problemas visuales, dolores de cabeza e incluso ver parpadeos.
Parpadeo de Pantalla / PWM detectado 2358 Hz ≤ 24 % de brillo

La retroiluminación del display parpadea a 2358 Hz (seguramente usa PWM - Pulse-Width Modulation) a un brillo del 24 % e inferior. Sobre este nivel de brillo no debería darse parpadeo / PWM.

La frecuencia de 2358 Hz es bastante alta, por lo que la mayoría de gente sensible al parpadeo no debería ver parpadeo o tener fatiga visual.

Comparación: 51 % de todos los dispositivos testados no usaron PWM para atenuar el display. Si se usó, medimos una media de 9725 (mínimo: 5 - máxmo: 142900) Hz.

Tiempos de respuesta del display

Los tiempos de respuesta del display muestran lo rápido que puede cambiar la pantalla de un color al siguiente. Tiempos lentos de respuesta pueden llevar a imágenes persistentes alrededor de objetos en movimiento o a displays borrosos. Particularmente los aficionados a los juegos 3D frenéticos deberían usar una pantalla con tiempos de respuesta rápidos.

Los smartphones Xperia aun se distinguen fácilmente por su diseño único, y el XZ1 encaja perfectamente. Desafortunadamente, los amplios marcos por debajo y por encima de la pantalla son un poco deprimentes y ya deberían haberse quedado en el pasado. En el lado positivo, la elección del material y la calidad de fabricación son tan altas como cabría esperar de Sony, y el alto nivel de resistencia al polvo y al agua del XZ1 no es tan común en los smartphones modernos como desearíamos. Desde un punto de vista técnico todavía hay algunos problemas aquí y allá, como la escasa disponibilidad del GPS en interiores o la resistencia bastante embarazosa bajo carga. En consecuencia, no podemos recomendar este dispositivo a cualquiera que use mucho su teléfono cuando esté fuera de casa. Sin embargo, parece el teléfono perfecto para los que viajan frecuentemente al extranjero debido a su amplia gama de bandas compatibles 3G y 4G/LTE. Dicho esto, Sony ha sacado el modelo Dual SIM y debería ser aún mejor.

Moderno por dentro más que por fuera. En el lado positivo, el Xperia XZ1 viene con un sistema operativo actualizado, un procesador rápido, altavoces estéreo y una buena cámara. La carcasa es resistente al polvo y al agua, pero sus biseles anticuados encima y debajo de la pantalla lo hacen parecer obsoleto y de todo menos moderno. 

Esperamos características como el lector de huellas por el precio del XZ1, alrededor de los $600, pero el almacenamiento interno del teléfono parece casi demasiado pequeño en comparación. Los altavoces estéreo siempre han estado y el soporte para DLNA se ha vuelto cada vez más raro y puede ser una gran ventaja para aquellos que tienen los servidores y receptores de medios correspondientes en casa, particularmente para los cineastas entre nuestros lectores. Lástima que los altavoces no sean particularmente buenos.

La cámara es sofisticada y decente, y la aplicación de cámara bastante versátil no va a decepcionar a sus usuarios. Sin embargo, si la cámara te es un factor importante o incluso el más importante en un smartphone, le sugerimos que eche un vistazo más de cerca a las alternativas hechas por Apple, Samsung, Huawei y OnePlus.

Lo que finalmente cambió esta situación es la brillante y vívida pantalla del XZ1 y su alto rendimiento, que son consideraciones importantes para los jugadores. Vale la pena mencionar de nuevo la compatibilidad única con el mando de PlayStation 4. Puede que no sea nuevo o el punto de venta más importante ya que casi todos los smartphones se pueden usar en con un mando de terceros, pero sin duda es una ventaja si ya tienes uno de PS4.
