Veredicto: mejor que el Dell Pro 7 14 en ciertos aspectos

A pesar de ser más asequible que el Dell Pro 7 14, el Dell Pro 5 14 presenta características similares en el chasis y cuenta con los mismos dispositivos de entrada, capacidades de batería, cámara web y opciones de pantalla, lo que ofrece una experiencia de usuario prácticamente idéntica. De hecho, el Dell Pro 5 14 incorpora algunas características que no están disponibles en el Dell Pro 7 14, como el conector RJ-45, el LPCAMM2 opcional y los procesadores Panther Lake X7; estos últimos mejoran significativamente el rendimiento gráfico para quienes lo necesiten.

Sin embargo, al ser el modelo más económico, el Dell Pro 5 14 es ligeramente más grueso y pesado que su hermano de gama superior, por lo que las características adicionales se obtienen a costa del tamaño y el peso. Los competidores, como el Lenovo ThinkPad T14s, más ligero, resultan más prácticos para viajar y ofrecen un tamaño de pantalla y opciones de hardware similares.

Otras pequeñas objeciones incluyen la falta de puertos USB-C en el borde derecho, lo que limita la recarga exclusivamente al borde izquierdo del sistema. Además, el SSD y la iGPU tienden a ralentizarse ligeramente tras unos minutos de uso intensivo, a diferencia de lo que observamos en el Dell Pro 7 14, de mayor precio. Mayúsculas y minúsculas

El chasis es prácticamente idéntico al del Dell Pro 7 14 en cuanto a materiales, textura, tamaño y primeras impresiones. Sin embargo, la base del Dell Pro 5 14 puede configurarse con aluminio anodizado o con un compuesto de fibra de vidrio; este último es ligeramente más grueso (18,65 mm frente a 18,1 mm). Recomendamos el aluminio anodizado, ya que el perfil más delgado resulta más apreciable que el ahorro de peso, muy leve (~10 g), que supone la fibra de vidrio.

Hay un total de siete opciones de pantalla disponibles, todas ellas IPS, salvo una única opción OLED FHD. No hay opciones de pantalla táctil ni HDR, algo habitual en muchos portátiles con diseño de concha orientados al ámbito empresarial.

Rendimiento de la GPU
