Intel Celeron 3867U

El Intel Celeron 3865U es un SoC de doble núcleo ULV (ultra bajo voltaje) basado en la arquitectura Kaby-Lake y ha sido lanzado en el primer trimestre de 2017. La CPU puede encontrarse tanto en ultrabooks como en portátiles normales. Además de dos núcleos de CPU a 1,8 GHz (sin Turbo Boost ni HyperThreading), el chip también integra una GPU HD Graphics 610 y un controlador de memoria DDR4-2133/DDR3L-1600 de doble canal. El SoC está fabricado mediante un proceso de 14 nm con transistores FinFET.

En comparación con el Celeron 3865, de características similares, el 3867 ofrece una opción de reducción del cTDP (12,5 frente a 10 vatios).

Arquitectura

Intel utiliza básicamente la misma microarquitectura en comparación con Skylake, por lo que el rendimiento por MHz no difiere. El fabricante sólo ha retocado la tecnología Speed Shift para realizar ajustes dinámicos más rápidos de voltajes y relojes, y el proceso mejorado de 14nm permite frecuencias mucho más altas combinadas con una mejor eficiencia que antes.

Rendimiento

Debido a la falta de Turbo Boost y a las bajas velocidades de reloj, especialmente el rendimiento de un solo hilo es muy limitado, lo que resulta en un rendimiento inferior incluso para tareas poco exigentes. El rendimiento debería ser notablemente más lento que el Celeron 3965 que ofrece núcleos de CPU con una velocidad de reloj 400 MHz superior. Por lo tanto, la CPU sólo es adecuada para tareas de nivel básico como ofimática, navegación web y multimedia.

Gráficos

La unidad gráfica integrada llamada HD Graphics 610 (similar a la HD Graphics 510) representa la versión "GT1" de la GPU Kaby Lake (Intel Gen. 9). Sus 12 unidades de ejecución, también llamadas EUs, van a 300 - 900 MHz y ofrecen un rendimiento algo inferior a la antigua HD Graphics 4400. Sólo unos pocos juegos de 2015 pueden jugarse con fluidez en los ajustes más bajos.

Consumo de energía

Especificado con un TDP de 15 W (incluyendo CPU, GPU y controlador de memoria), la CPU es más adecuada para portátiles pequeños y ultrabooks (de 11 pulgadas o más). Opcionalmente, el TDP puede bajarse a 10 vatios (cTDP down), lo que reduce tanto la disipación de calor como el rendimiento y permite diseños aún más compactos.
