Intel i7-7600U

El Intel Core i7-7600U es un veloz procesador dual-core para portátiles, basado en la arquitectura Kaby Lake y fue anunciado en enero de 2017. Él integra 2 núcleos de CPU con soporte para Hyper-Threading con velocidades de 2,8 - 3,9 GHz (Turbo de 2 núcleos también 3,9 GHz). Además de dos núcleos el procesador también está equipado con la GPU HD Graphics 620 así como un controlador de memoria de dos canales (DDR3L-1600/DDR4-2400). Es producido en un proceso de 14 nm con transistores FinFET.

Arquitectura

Intel básicamente utiliza la misma micro arquitectura comparada con Skylake, por ellos, el rendimiento por-MHz no se diferencia. El fabricante solo reformuló la tecnología Speed Shift para ajustes dinámicos más veloces de voltajes y frecuencias, y el mejorado proceso de 14nm permite frecuencias mucho más altas, combinado con mejor eficiencia que antes.

Rendimiento

Con 2,5 a 3,9 GHz, el Core i7-7600U ofrece velocidades significantemente superiores que el antiguo Core i7-6500U (2,5 - 3,1). Eso significa que el i7-7600U es (en el momento del anuncio, a principio del 2017) el procesador dual core más veloz para portátiles. El rendimiento es suficiente para tareas exigentes (excepto por algunos juegos que puedan necesitar de cuatro núcleos reales).

Gráficos

La Intel HD Graphics 620 integrada tiene 24 Unidades de Ejecución (similar a la anterior HD Graphics 520) corriendo a 300 - 1150 MHz. El rendimiento depende mucho de la configuración de la memoria; debe ser comparable con una Nvidia GeForce 920M dedicada en combinación con la memoria dual-channel DDR4-2133.

Contrario a Skylake, Kaby Lake ahora soporta decodificación por hardware para H.265/HEVC Main 10 con una profundidad de colores de 10-bits, así como el códec VP9 de Google. Los procesadores dual-core Kaby Lake, que fueron anunciados en enero, también deben soportar HDCP 2.2.

Consumo de Energía

El chip es producido en un proceso de 14nm mejorado, con transistores FinFET, que mejoran la eficiencia aun más. Intel aun especifica el TDP con 15 Watts, pero también puede ser reducido a 7,5 Watts por los fabricantes de portátiles (cTDP down). Esto, obviamente, afectará al rendimiento, porque el Turbo Boost no puede ser mantenido por periodos más largos.
