Intel Pentium 4417U

El procesador Intel Pentium Gold 4417U es un SoC de doble núcleo con eficiencia energética para computadoras portátiles de nivel básico basadas en la generación Kaby Lake Refresh (no Coffee Lake). Se anunció en febrero de 2019 e integra dos núcleos "grandes" (similares a las CPU Core i3, i5 e i7) con velocidad de 2,3 GHz (fijo, sin Turbo Boost). La tarjeta gráfica integrada se llama Intel HD Graphics 610 y ofrece 12 EU con velocidades de 300 - 950 MHz. El controlador de memoria integrado admite velocidades de memoria más lentas que los modelos i3 e i5 más rápidos (DDR4-2133 / LPDDR3-1866 / DDR3L-1600) y memoria de doble canal.

Arquitectura

Intel básicamente utiliza la misma micro arquitectura comparada con Skylake, por ellos, el rendimiento por-MHz no se diferencia. El fabricante solo reformuló la tecnología Speed Shift para ajustes dinámicos más veloces de voltajes y frecuencias, y el mejorado proceso de 14nm permite frecuencias mucho más altas, combinado con mejor eficiencia que antes.

Rendimiento

Con una velocidad fija de 2,3 GHz, la CPU de doble núcleo es claramente más lenta que los modelos con Turbo Boost y altas velocidades para un rendimiento de un solo thread. Sin embargo, el rendimiento de subprocesos múltiples también está limitado debido a los dos núcleos. El Core i5-8250U más rápido ofrece cuatro núcleos de procesador y las velocidades rápidas de Turbo Boost, por lo tanto, ofrece un rendimiento mucho mejor. Aun así, el Pentium 4417U ofrece suficiente rendimiento para tareas diarias y aplicaciones no exigentes.

Consumo de Energía

El chip se fabrica más probablemente en un proceso mejorado de 14nm con transistores FinFET (14nm +), al igual que los procesadores Kaby Lake de 7ma Gen. Intel aun especifica el TDP con 15 Watts, lo cual es típico para chips ULV. Según Intel, se puede configurar a 12,5 vatios a 800 MHz (cTDP-down) con un rendimiento claramente reducido.
