AMD A6-5200

La AMD A6-5200 es un SoC quad-core móvil para portátiles de gama baja, que fue presentada en mediados de 2013. Además de los cuatro núcleos de CPU con una velocidad de 2,0 GHz (sin Turbo), el chip de 28 nanómetros también integra una GPU Radeon HD 8400, un controlador de memoria DDR3(L)-1600 de un solo canal, así como el Southbridge con varias puertas E/S.

Arquitectura

La Kabini (para portátiles) con la Temash (tablets y sub-portátiles compactos) se basan en la nueva arquitectura Jaguar de AMD, que sustituye los anteriores modelos Bobcat (por ejemplo, el E-350). Según nuestros benchmarks, el rendimiento por núcleo fue aumentado en cerca de 15 por ciento. Además, varias modernas extensiones de conjuntos de instrucciones como SSE hasta la versión 4.2, AVX y AES ahora son soportadas. El más fino proceso de 28-nanómetros de la TSMC permite voltajes más bajos y/o tasas de frecuencia más bajas comparadas con Bobcat, así como hasta 4 núcleos de CPU (Bobcat: 2 núcleos).

Rendimiento

Dependiendo de la aplicación, el desempeño del A6-5200 está en algún lugar entre un Pentium 977 e Core i3-3227U. Los 4 núcleos de la CPU proporcionan buenos resultados en aplicaciones multi-threaded, pero el desempeño por núcleo e bastante bajo. A pesar de todo, la APU debe ser suficiente para todas las tareas diarias, como Office, navegar por Internet y multimedia.

Gráficos

El SoC integra una GPU Radeon HD 8400 con 128 shaders, que se basa en la arquitectura GCN y con frecuencia de 600 MHz (sin Turbo). En promedio, la HD 8400 alcanza una Radeon HD 6490M o versiones más veloces de la Intel HD Graphics 4000. Sin embargo, el procesador puede limitar el desempeño en algunos juegos recientes (a partir de 2013). Algunos juegos más antiguos y menos exigentes deben ejecutarse fluentemente.

Consumo de Energía

El consumo de energía de todo el SoC es de 25 watts. Con eso, la A6-5200 es más adecuada para portátiles de 14 pulgadas o más grandes.
