Intel Core 2 Extreme X7900

El Intel Core 2 Extreme X7900 fue la CPU para portátiles más rápida de 2007 y está basada en el nucleo Merom. El consumo de corriente es mayor que en viejos procesadores Core 2 Duo y como todas las CPUs de la gama Extreme ofrece un multiplicador liberado (para un overclocking sencillo).

Comparado con CPUs de 2009 el X7900 está al nivel de los baratos Core 2 Duo P9600 / T9550 con velocidad de 2.66 GHz.
