Intel P8700

El Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 es un procesador de doble nucleo de gama media para portatiles. Presenta 2.53 GHz y una cache de nivel 2 compartida de 3 MB. Debido a la menor cache (los modelos Core 2 Duo de la gama T usualmente tienen 6 MB a esta velocidad de reloj), el TDP es de solo 25 vatios (en lugar de los 35 vatios del modelo T). Tecnicamente, el P8700 es una CPU P8800 a menor velocidad de reloj.

Debido a la velocidad de reloj relativamente alta, los juegos modernos (en 2009) no deberían estar limitados por la velocidad de la CPU (en conjunto con una tarjeta gráfica de gama media). Para juegos más exigentes debería elegirse un Dual Core a mayor velocidad (usando una GPU de gama alta).

El P8700 usa un nucleo Penryn (actualizacion Montevina) que presenta 2 unidades de enteros, 1 de coma flotante, 1 de carga y una de almacenamiento en un largo pipeline de 14 estados de largo. Debido a la tecnología Wide Dynamic Execution, el nucleo es capaz de ejcutar de forma simultanea hasta cuatro instrucciones.

La tecnologia Speedstep mejorada es capaz de reducir la velocidad del nucleo de forma dinamica hasta 1200 MHz para ahorrar energia (en modo reposo)

El Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 es un procesador de doble nucleo de gama media para portatiles. Presenta 2.53 GHz y una cache de nivel 2 compartida de 3MB.
