Intel 3110M

El Intel Core i3-3110M es un procesador dual-core para portátiles, basado en la arquitectura Ivy Bridge. Gracias al Hyperthreading, los dos núcleos pueden soportar hasta cuatro threads en paralelo haciendo un mejor uso del CPU. Cada núcleo ofrece una velocidad base de 2,4 GHz, el Turbo Boost no es soportado. Como sus predecesores basados en Sandy-Bridge, ofrece un cache de 3 MB L3.

Ivy Bridge es una matriz mejorada y encogida de la arquitectura Sandy Bridge con mejoras en el rendimiento del GPU y CPU. Los CPUs son producidos en 22nm (contra 32nm de los CPUs Sandy Bridge) y son los primeros en introducir transistores 3D para una mejor eficiencia energética al compararlo con procesadores Sandy Bridge con frecuencias similares. Otros nuevos recursos son el PCI Express 3.0 integrado y soporte para DDR3(L)-1600.

El rendimiento del Core i3-3110M debe ser ligeramente superior que el de un procesador Sandy Bridge con frecuencia similar gracias a pequeñas alteraciones estructurales. Como resultado, el rendimiento general debe ser cerca de 5 % más veloz comparado con el antiguo i3-2370M. Gracias a su Turbo Boost, los modelos Core-i5 como el i5-3210M son significantemente más veloces (10 - 30 %).

Tal como la mayoría de los otros dual-cores Ivy Bridge, el i5-3210M está clasificado en un TDP de 35 W. Por tanto, hasta los portátiles más pequeños pueden utilizar el Core i3.
