AMD A6-1450

La AMD A6-1450 es un SoC quad-core móvil para sub-portátiles compactos y tablets introducido en mediados de 2013. Además de los 4 núcleos de CPU con una velocidad de 1,0 GHz (Turbo hasta 1,4 GHz), el chip de 28 nm también integra una GPU Radeon HD 8250, un controlador de memoria DDR3L-1066 de un solo canal, así como el Southbridge con varias puertas E/S.

Arquitectura

La Kabini (para portátiles) con la Temash (tablets y sub-portátiles compactos) se basan en la nueva arquitectura Jaguar de AMD, que sustituye los anteriores modelos Bobcat (por ejemplo, el E-350). Según AMD, el rendimiento por núcleo fue aumentado en cerca de 15 por ciento. Además, varias modernas extensiones de conjuntos de instrucciones como SSE hasta la versión 4.2, AVX y AES ahora son soportadas. El más fino proceso producción de 28nm de la TSMC permite voltajes más bajos y/o frecuencias más bajas comparadas con Bobcat, así como soporte para 4 núcleos de CPU.

Rendimiento

Gracias a la baja frecuencia base de 1,0 GHz, el rendimiento es modesto en aplicaciones con soporte para paralelización pobre. Incluso en el modo Turbo-Dock (1,4 GHz) el A6-1450 difícilmente superará al antiguo E-350. Sin embargo , si los 4 núcleos son utilizados efectivamente, el desempeño se vuelve similar al del Core i3-380UM basado en Arrandale. Para tareas básicas de oficina y multimedia, el A6-1450 tiene suficiente poder, sin embargo, alcanzará rápidamente sus límites con software más exigente.

Gráficos

El SoC integra una GPU Radeon HD 8250 con 128 shaders basada en la arquitectura GCN. La frecuencia de 300 MHz puede ser incrementada hasta 400 MHz en el modo Turbo. Con esta frecuencia la HD 8250 alcanza a la Radeon HD 6450M o Intel HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge). Por tanto, los juegos recientes, a partir de 2013, difícilmente son jugables. Sin embargo, algunos juegos más antiguos y menos exigentes deben ejecutarse fluentemente.

Consumo de Energía

El consumo de energía de todo el SoC es de 8 Watts o hasta 15 Watts en el modo Turbo Dock. Con eso, la A6-1450 es adecuada para sub-portátiles finos o tablets grandes.
