Intel Core i3-380UM

El Intel Core i3-380UM es un procesador dual core de ultra bajo voltaje para portátiles pequeños y livianos. Tiene una frecuencia de 1,3 GHz y no presenta Turbo Boost para acelerar lo núcleos del CPU. Otro recurso que falta, comparando con el i5 e i7 lineup es bloqueo de la función AES. Cada núcleo se basa en la micro-arquitectura Nehalem (Westmere). El Hyperthreading permite que el CPU Dual Core controle 4 threads simultáneamente (para un mejor uso del pipeline).

El similar Core i5-470UM, i5-560UM, y i7-660UM también tienen una frecuencia base de 1,3 GHz, pero presenta Turbo Boost y, por tanto,  son más veloces.

Un recurso del nuevo Core i3-380UM es la tarjeta de video integrada (llamada Intel HD Graphics) y controlador de memoria. Ambos están en un molde distinto que es producido en 45nm mientras que el molde del CPU ya es producido en el nuevo procesos de 32nm. la también llamada GMA HD es capaz de usar Turbo Boost para acelerar de 133 a 500 MHz.

Gracias al controlador de memoria integrado y HyperThreading, el  Core i3-380UM es más veloz que un Core 2 Duo de frecuencia similar (1,3 GHz) en todas las aplicaciones (que conocemos) y benchmarks. Por tanto, supera al Pentium SU7300 de 1,3 GHz y en alguna área se desempeña casi tan rápido como un Core 2 Duo de 2 GHz. Aun así el rendimiento en los juegos puedes sufrir con la baja frecuencia.

El consumo de energía TDP de 18 Watt (máx.) cuenta para todo el paquete y, por tanto es claramente mejor que el TDP de 17 Watt del Core 2 Duo de la serie SL(sólo CPU).
