AMD A8-6410

El AMD A8-6410 es un SoC quad-core móvil (llamado "Beema") para aparatos de gama baja y subportátiles, que fue presentado en la primavera del 2014. Además de los 4 núcleos de CPU con una velocidad base de 2,0 - 2,4 GHz (boost), el chip de 28 nanómetros también integra una GPU Radeon R5, un controlador de memoria DDR3L-1866 de un solo canal y el Southbridge con varias puertas E/S. Además de la velocidad un poco más alta (2,0 en vez de 1,8 GHz), los datos técnicos y, por tanto el rendimiento es casi igual al de la APU A6-6310.

Arquitectura

Tanto Beema (para portátiles) y Mullins (para tablets y subportátiles compactos, misma matriz) se basan en la arquitectura Puma+ de AMD, que es la sucesora del antiguo diseño Jaguar (APUs Kabini y Temash). Ni el rendimiento, ni el conjunto de recursos (incluyendo SSE hasta 4.2, AVX y AES) fueron modificados. Sin embargo, AMD logró reducir la fuga de corriente, permitiendo alcanzar velocidades significantemente más altas (boost). Esto resulta en un sistema con más respuesta y mejor rendimiento general. Como su antecesor, el chip es producido en 28 nm.

Rendimiento

En tareas de un solo sub-proceso, la A8-6410 es claramente más veloz que la antigua A6-5200 (25 W, 2,0 GHz), pero queda solo un poco adelante en benchmarks multi thread. En general, la APU ofrece un rendimiento similar al de un Pentium o Core i3 (ULV) basado en Haswell. A pesar de todo, la A8-6410 será suficiente para todas las tareas diarias, como Office, navegar por Internet y multimedia.

Gráficos

El SoC integra una GPU Radeon R5 con 128 shaders, que se basa en la arquitectura GCN y con frecuencia de hasta 800 MHz. En promedio, el rendimiento gráfico es similar al de la HD Graphics 4200 de Intel o una Radeon HD 7470M dedicada. Solo algunos juegos actuales (de 2014) son jugables con configuraciones bajas, pero títulos antiguos y menos exigentes deben ejecutarse perfectamente.

Consumo de Energía

El consumo de energía de todo el SoC es de 15 watts. Por tanto, la APU es adecuada para subportátiles más pequeñas.
