Samsung Exynos 990

El Samsung Exynos 990 es un SoC móvil de gama alta para teléfonos inteligentes y tabletas. Fue anunciado en la línea Samsung S20 a principios de 2020. El procesador integra tres grupos de núcleos de procesador con diferentes arquitecturas. Dos grandes núcleos M5 (Mongoose 5) personalizados de Samsung registran hasta 2,73 GHz y ofrecen un rendimiento máximo. Dos ARM Cortex-A76 adicionales también son para tareas de rendimiento y una velocidad de hasta 2,5 GHz. Finalmente, cuatro núcleos pequeños y de bajo consumo ARM-Cortex A55 tienen una velocidad de hasta 2 GHz en el tercer grupo. Los diferentes grupos pueden ejecutarse simultáneamente gracias a DinamIQ.

El módem LTE integrado es compatible con LTE-Advanced Pro Cat.20/18 (descarga de 2000 Mbps, carga de 210 Mbps). La tarjeta gráfica integrada es una ARM Mali G77MP11 con 11 núcleos.

El rendimiento de la parte de la CPU se posiciona en el segmento de gama alta para procesadores de Smartphones. En Geekbench, ofrece un muy buen rendimiento single thread a la par con el Snapdragon 965 y Apple A11 más antiguo. El rendimiento de subprocesos múltiples está un poco por debajo de los SoC de teléfonos inteligentes actuales más rápidos. En Geekbench 5, se ubica debajo del Kirin 990 y por encima del antiguo Snapdragon 855 Plus.

El SoC se produce en Samsung en el nuevo proceso de 7nm LPP (con EUV).
