HiSilicon Kirin 950

El HiSilicon Kirin 950 es un SoC octa-core basado en ARM para smartphones y tablets basados en Android. Fue anunciada a finales de 2014 junto con el Huawei Mate 8. Contiene 8 núcleos de procesador (4x Cortex-A72, 4x Cortex-A53), una GPU ARM Mali T880 MP4 (vea la información y benchmarks), un controlador de memoria dual-channel LPDDR4 y una radio LTE Cat. 5 radio. A principios del 2016 es uno de los SoCs más veloces basado en ARM del mercado. El Kirin 955 anunciado un poco después es una versión más veloz (2,5 vs 2,3 GHz).

El Kirin 950 es uno de los primeros SoCs que utiliza la nueva arquitectura Cortex-A72. En comparación con los núcleos A57, los A72 ofrecen un rendimiento por MHz 15 por ciento superior y deben ser más energéticamente eficientes. En el Kirin 950, los cuatro núcleos Cortex-A72 son capaces de llegar hasta 2,3 GHz. Además, el procesador incluye cuatro núcleos ahorradores de energía basados en la arquitectura Cortex-A53 que tienen una velocidad de 1,8 GHz (máx.).

El Kirin 950 es producido en 16nm en TSMC (proceso 16FF+).
