El Core i5-L16G7 es un SoC con 5 núcleos de procesador basado en la arquitectura de Lakefield. Utiliza un núcleo rápido de Sunny Cove (conocido por las CPU de Ice-Lake pero sin AVX512) con hasta 3 GHz y 4 pequeños núcleos de Tremont (Atom / Celeron) con hasta 2,8 GHz. Usando los 5 núcleos, la CPU puede alcanzar hasta 1,8 GHz, la velocidad del reloj base es de 1,4 GHz. La CPU no soporta HyperThreading / SMT. El resto del SoC es similar a los chips de Ice Lake, como la tarjeta gráfica Gen 11 con 64 EUs (similar a la Iris Plus G7 pero sólo con una velocidad de reloj de 500 MHz y usando el nombre de UHD Graphics).

Según Intel, la L16G7 debería ser alrededor de un 24% más rápida en aplicaciones multihilo y un 12% más rápida en aplicaciones de un solo hilo en comparación con el antiguo Core i7-8500Y (Amber Lake-Y, 2 núcleos, 1,5 - 4,2 GHz). Eso significa que debería ser ligeramente más lento que el Core i3-8130U.

Con un TDP especificado de 7 vatios (PL1, 9,5 vatios PL2), la CPU es muy adecuada para portátiles delgados y ligeros y tabletas basadas en Windows. / 2 en 1. Intel afirma que la potencia de reserva se redujo en gran medida (91% mejor en comparación con el i7-8500Y con 2,5 mW). El SoC se fabrica en 10nm y utiliza la tecnología de embalaje 3D de Intel Foveros. Foveros se utiliza para apilar el dado de E/S fabricado en 22FFL, el dado de computación en 10nm y hasta 8 GB LPDDR4X-4267.
