Intel i3-1000NG4

El Intel Core i3-1000NG4 es un SoC de doble núcleo con eficiencia energética para portátiles y Ultrabooks basado en la generación Ice -Lake-U que se anunció en mayo de 2019 (Computex). Integra dos núcleos de procesador Sunnycove (4 threads gracias a HyperThreading) con velocidad de 1,1 (base) - 3,2 GHz (Turbo de uno y dos núcleos). Según Intel, los núcleos Sunnycove alcanzan un 18% más de IPC (instrucciones por reloj) y, por lo tanto, el rendimiento de la CPU debe ser similar al de los CPU predecesores Amber-Lake-Y como el Core i5-8200Y (1,3 - 3,9 GHz).

En comparación con el Core i3-1000G4 normal, el i3-1000NG4 ofrece un tamaño más pequeño (22 x 16,5 frente a 26,5 x 18,5 mm).

La mayor mejora para Ice-Lake es la tarjeta gráfica Gen 11 integrada llamada Iris Plus Graphics. El Core i7-1030G4 integra la variante G4 más pequeña con 48 de las 64 CU con velocidades de 300 - 900 MHz.  Sin embargo, en la serie Y, el rendimiento de juegos volverá a depender de la solución de enfriamiento y puede degradarse claramente con el tiempo (en comparación con el Core i5-1035G4 con 15 - 25 Watts, por ejemplo). La tarjeta gráfica más rápida también es la principal diferencia con el Core i3-1000G1 de nombre similar.

Otras mejoras para Ice Lake son la aceleración de hardware de IA y la integración parcial de Thunderbolt y Wifi 6 en el chip. El controlador de memoria DDR4 integrado soporta módulos con hasta 3200 MHz (y LPDDDR4 3733).

El Core i3-1000NG4 se produce en el nuevo proceso de 10 nm en Intel que debería ofrecer un rendimiento comparable al proceso de 7 nm en TSMC. El TDP se especifica en 15 Watts y, por lo tanto, la CPU se puede usar en computadoras portátiles delgadas y livianas (pero usualmente con un ventilador). Intel ofrece un TDP configurable de 13-25 Watts para los socios, lo que resulta en diferencias de rendimiento. Con 13 vatios configurados, la CPU, por ejemplo, solo funciona a 900 MHz según ark.intel.com.
