Intel i7-8809G

El Intel Core i7-8809G es un procesador quad-core rápido para portátiles basado en la arquitectura Kaby Lake y fue anunciado en enero de 2018. Similar al Xeon E3-1535M v6 integra cuatro núcleos de procesador con velocidad de 3,1 a 4,2 GHz. Como una especialidad, el paquete también contiene una tarjeta gráfica basada en Vega de AMD (con 24 CUs = 1536 shaders a 1190 MHz) y 4 GB de memoria gráfica HBM2. La CPU todavía se produce en 14nm como el i7-7920HQ.

Arquitectura

Intel básicamente utiliza la misma micro arquitectura comparada con Skylake, por ellos, el rendimiento por-MHz no se diferencia. El fabricante solo reformuló la tecnología Speed Shift para ajustes dinámicos más veloces de voltajes y frecuencias, y el mejorado proceso de 14nm permite frecuencias mucho más altas, combinado con mejor eficiencia que antes.

Rendimiento

En comparación con el i7-7920HQ, el i7-8809G debería ser un poco más rápido debido a la memoria HBM2, velocidad Boost 100 GHz más alta, y TDP de 100 Watts. El rendimiento, por lo tanto, es suficiente incluso para tareas muy exigentes y está al mismo nivel de poderosos procesadores quad-core de desktop.

Gráficos

Además de la Intel HD Graphics 630 en la CPU, el Core i7-8809G también ofrece una tarjeta gráfica AMD Radeon RX Vega M GH con 24 CU y por lo tanto más del doble de la cantidad de las APU Ryzen actuales (por ejemplo, Ryzen 7 2700 con 10 CU).

Contrario a Skylake, Kaby Lake ahora soporta decodificación por hardware para H.265/HEVC Main 10 con una profundidad de colores de 10-bits, así como el codec VP9 de Google. El 8809G también debería ser compatible con HDCP 2.2, pero para HDMI 2.0, lo más probable es que necesite un convertidor desde DisplayPort.

Consumo de Energía

El chip de CPU se fabrica en un proceso mejorado de 14 nm con transistores FinFET. Tiene un TDP nominal de aproximadamente 100 Watts y, por lo tanto, solo es adecuado para portátiles con buenas soluciones de refrigeración. En comparación con portátiles con Core i7-H quad-cores y tarjetas gráficas dedicadas, los modelos basados en i7-8809G se pueden construir con un chasis más pequeños.
